- Hier zeige ich euch den Bau eines Kartonmodells vom Stürzbomber Douglas SBD-3 Dauntless.
Das Modell hat inklusive der Schablonenteile fast 1.700 Bauteile. Viele davon sind im Kockpit verbaut, welches dadurch sehr detailiert ist.

Here I show you the construction of a paper model of the crash bomber Douglas SBD-3 Dauntless.
The model, including the template parts, has almost 1,700 components. Many of them are built into the cockpit, which makes them very detailed.

Danke sehr. Das geht auch nur, wenn man viel Zeit hat und dazwischen immer mal wieder andere Modelle baut. Sonst fehlt bei der Dauer des bastelns das Erfolgserlebnis.
Das stimmt. Aber der Bausatz ist ja echt geisteskrank detalliert.👍
@@thercchannel7301 Da gebe ich dir recht. Wenn das Modell so in der Vitrine steht, sieht man von wirklich sehr vielen Teilen nichts mehr. Aber das wissen wir Standmodellbauer ja.

Guten Morgen, Kumpel. Ich habe Ihr Dauntles-Modell geliebt, ich weiß, dass es schwierig auszuführen ist, aber das hat Sie nicht davon abgehalten, großartige Arbeit beim Zusammenbau zu leisten, herzlichen Glückwunsch. Dieses Modell ist historisch, genau wie der Stuka. Eine Flotte von ihnen reichte aus, um die Seeschlacht von Midway zu gewinnen. Ironischerweise maßen die Amerikaner diesem Modell damals nicht den nötigen Wert bei und dachten, die Torpedoboote würden ausreichen, um die japanische Flotte zu versenken. Aber es war ein Fiasko und die Dauntlees retteten den Tag.

How did you cut out the paper parts? Razor? Computer? The part cuts are smooth & precise. Almost impossible for human hands. Can you help? Gary

I only use a steel ruler, a punch for small holes and sometimes a circle cutter for bigger holes but no machines. This is all manual work with a precision knife.

Hello, this is a model you habe to buy and it is delivered ready-printed. I don't know what paper thickness it is. But I estimate that the normal parts are printed on approx. 160 g / m² and the parts to be reinforced are doubled by 0.5 mm and 1.0 mm.

Hallo, Jürgen. Tolles Modell. Habe bislang immer nur Plastikmodelle gebaut und war mit den Ergebnissen - trotz Airbrush - nie wirklich zufrieden. Diese Kartonmodelle sehen ja echt megarealistisch aus! Wie schwer ist es, so ein Modell zu bauen? Müssen die Bauteile noch bemalt bzw. lackiert werden?
Hllo Volker. Genau das war der Grund, warum ich mit Kartonmodellbau angefangen habe. Auch ich war kein guter Lackierer. Zunächst gibt es Kartonmodelle in allen Schwierigkeitsgraden, die Dauntless ist eins der wirklich schwierigen Modelle. Kartonmodellbau ist zeitintensiver, weil die Teile ausgeschnitten, die Knicke vorgerillt und die Kanten gefärbt werden müssen.
Die Kanten färben ist ein muss, wenn du keine weißen "Blitzer" im Modell haben willst. Ansonsten spielt der Druck der Teilebögen eine große Rolle. Da gibt es große Unterschiede.
In der Beschreibung sind zwei Links zu Kartonmodellforen. Die sind kostenlos, du kannst dich also bedenkenlos dort auch anmelden. Dort kannst du dich mal informieren und viele Beispiele sehen.
Ansonsten einfach mal ein Bastelmesser nehmen, ein einfaches Modell im Netz herunterladen und anfangen.

Many thanks. I never write down how long I need for a model. According to the image information, the construction took about 6 months. I guess several hundred hours.

Welchen Kleber sollte ich verwenden, um die Kabine abzudecken?

die Kabine wurde nicht abgedeckt, weil das Modell nicht lackiert wurde.
Oder meinst du die Verklebung. Die kannst du mit fast jedem moderneren Sekundenkleber, mit Weißleim oder Spezialkleber (Kittifix für Kartonmodellbau) verkleben. Diese Kleber trocknen transparent aus.

On these mobile phone pictures the color looks much greener than in reality. I had used felt tip pens which didn't have all the colors. This one came closest to me.😳

Hello and thanks. I bought the model already printed (see the link in the description).
I actually built the red and gray gas bottles out of wood. 🥴
The balls at the end of the levers are made of white glue applied in several layers.

As you can see from the stacks, I punched out the discs with a punch.😉

Man this is great, I see you know how to work with paper, but you should concentrane on coloring. The green color is really contrast to interior color. But detail quality is amazing. Great Job

I know the colors in the pictures don't quite match. But that is only so clear on the pictures of the camera, which was very cheap at the time. In reality, however, this is not nearly as noticeable.
@@models-by-fadda59 what kind of colors do you use? aquarel, water, temper or do you use sharpie? I am really glad to find your channel. On youtube its really rare to find so detailed paper craft contruction progress video on this detail level. Most of the time I have seen plastic kits.
@@1petriq Thanks again. I usually use Revell water soluble paints. When coloring the edges, I try to use felt-tip pens, that's the easiest way. As you can see in my channel, I also build from other materials because cardboard model making is very time-consuming and I need a sense of achievement every now and then.😉

Good job, but next time, try to paint edges of paper with acrylic paints. It's easier to make right tone of color, than with color markers.

I know that, and I've done it with some models too. However, the color differences can be seen much more clearly in the pictures than on the model with the eyes.
