i live in the south coast of Adelaide, and people say its boring here but really is just laid back and allows you to enjoy the little things, like the beaches and nature, old buildings, good communities

I have family in Adelaide, I have spent around 8 months there and I think it's an awesome city, it's definitely a place I could see my self buying a house and settling down in.

    My hometown.. RADELAIDE!!!
14:20 you are meant to interpret installation art just as you did. Its about what it makes you feel/think of.
I love Adelaide sunsets, always over the Ocean...

@@MollyThompsonx_ and we had a couple of hair raising adventures on the trips up and back. When running out of fuel late at night when we decided to take the scenic (but 6 hours longer) Great Ocean rd route - in the middle of the Otway Ranges, in the dark, no phone reception, encountering a wombat crossing our path the size of a large pig, going to a pay phone and having a backpacker pop up out of nowhere like a horror movie (poor guy was sleeping at a bench nearby). Or the time when a logging truck lost a bunch of logs seconds after we crossed its path (I kid you not!). Crazy times but so memorable.
Thanks for your vids - absolutely the most enjoyable vlogs!

That's great, we used to go to Melbourne often from Adelaide in the late 70's and early 80's until longer term life goals put a stop to that. We'd travel to Sydney occasionally.
Those were the days of a vibrant pub band culture Australia wide and simply because so many things would pass Adelaide by unfortunately.
I reckon that was part of the reason why Australians were and probably are such good long term world travellers.
Distance! Ha! We laugh at it. We used to look forward to the next road trip, sometimes by train. It was fun.
I can well imagine people not used to the distances to not quite get it until you put it this way.
      What choice did we have?
By the way, they were days when hitch-hiking was really common.

Victor Harbor and a walk across the sea to Granite Island and Port Elliott (Flying Fish restaurant there is lovely) would have been a good choice to add in to your trip to Adelaide and maybe a visit to Kangaroo Creek reservoir and then further across to Cleland park in the Adelaide hills to say hello to some freely roaming wild life.

    It’s an exquisite city.
You may have missed the distinction being the gracious architecture and gardens and parklands.
Had you had gotten to the botanic gardens and adjoining national wine centre you may have appreciated the city centre more.

Thank you so much!! We planned our whole east coast trip with the help of Welcome To Travel so I do really recommend dropping them a message on instagram or to the email in their website - they can completely custom build you a trip to suit your style of travel and your budget, plus they run really amazing group tours!! (sounds like an ad, isn't I just love them hahaa) but my backpack is the Mountain Warehouse 60L+20L backpack in their purpley/berry shade!! xx

The last place you went to, Henley Beach, was not too long ago a dowdy, boring beachside suburb, until the Greek-Australian community developed it and turned it into one of Adelaide's most desirable areas with all the restaurants and new property developments. Starting off with one restaurant offering delicious Greek food and outdoor seating, to becoming a culinary and busy social destination, alla Mediterranean style.

Now hang on let me work this out .If i travel to China or japan that takes me 7-9 hours if I live in the USA it takes 11-15 hours ,If I live in the UK its 11 12 hours so, you need to place this into context because "other places"could be Asia which is where the majority of people live and we are closer to Asia than the USA or the Uk, so it depends on your perception of what "other places " is . Here is another fun fact if you lived in New York and your family lives in Hawaii it would take you longer than 11 hours to visit them .If you lived in Sydney it would take you less than 10 hours .

Are people really finding it hard to find accommodation and work on a WHV at the moment? It seems that way from what I’m seeing on Facebook groups

    • @MollyThompsonx_
      @MollyThompsonx_  ปีที่แล้ว +1

I would say it's definitely quite hard right now, i can't really comment on what it was like before but I do know people are finding it difficult, not impossible though - it's just taking longer than normal I think! It being winter is definitely helping with the housing issue in the major cities though as a lot of people/seasonal visitors have left Sydney and Melbs for the winter now!
