I just bought this game on sale for $2.49, and am excited to try it. I’ve enjoyed IL-2’s newer battles series, but the ability to fight against bomber formations and fly exotic planes is something that series lacks.
Thank you for reminding me that the 163's engine could be shut off. I was just about to comment about it... Anyway it's always a pleasure to watch you and your friends fighting against the odds.
You have to admit the job of the real pilots was pretty hard with the combination of those high closing speeds and low velocity cannon. You had some success here but of course gamers have the luxury of practicing against ai for as long as they want. Another factor is in real life there is a real desire to survive so pilots probably weren't quite as daring as we have the luxury of being at our computer screens.
The faster you approach bombers, the better. You get hit less often. You also have to keep the escorts in mind. The faster you go, the less likely they are to short cut and intercept you.
@@Fishyyy tbf I think he was talking about stuff like the Ta 183 and that VTOL thing, but a 1946 scenario could be cool, Me 262 HG IIs vs British/United States Army B-29s over Germany? :D

Thanks. It’s a fun plane to fly. I used fishyy’s video and freeze framed images to create an accurate paint scheme. It worked out well.

@Fishyyy A typical Me 163 tactic was to carry out attacks while climbing and diving through the formation. Games are different, though.
