i remember flexing my first dl there and 90% of people actually gets surprised by it. Now the inflation hits so hard, in world NOOB some people just give it away. I myself don't have much dl currently but it just doesn't feel surprising anymore too.
It is sad that good times like these have passed already.

I miss 2013-2016 growtopia, but we all know it will never be like it used to be. I quit more than 4 years ago and i don't regret it at all. Everything is different from it used to be. The people playing the game is not the same either, and even if the game was reset it would quickly become like it is now. This is the same reason pixel worlds did not work as a substitute for Growtopia, because it was the same people as in Growtopia, who only cared about profit. I don't regret any of the 5000 hours i spent on Growtopia, and i wish it could have lasted longer.

Yeah i logged in after years worlds like ZOMBIE and other popular games like that doesn't exist anymore and even tho i never roleplayed you used to see tons of kids having fun that way and now theyre just gone

Joined this game late 2013, things were simpler, no toxicity, simpler items, less scammers and scamming methods, when a single World Lock was worth something, good community overall. Made a lotta friends throughout the years, this game made my childhood. Quit the game after Ubisoft bought it, been a long ride. Killer16x if you're out there, wont forget you.

I remember joining it in the late 2012, started casino back when they were legal (FX team owned by SydeFX) and to this day I still play it.
I’ve made some profit out of casinos too, having spent well over $15000 Canadian on the game overall I would say that’s lots. Nowadays I just host and not play it, like real casinos the dealers always win.

Despite being almost 18 I still feel emotional when I remembered the golden age of growtopia... It's been my childhood game. I learned a lot from it like how to speak english
dude im about to cry remembering good old days. I remember when i often play with my school friends and having fun together. Only the OGs understand the feel and the essence of the game. Playing spleef, fashion show, giveaway alongside speedhackers xD, Store World when there is no vending machine, Dare Video, Drop Games, the moderators were fun those days, hotel world, and many more. I wanted to come back to these days and we're just having fun :D
I will never understand why it still isn’t like this to this day. Every player is different now whenever I jump on to just reminisce and it’s sad because worlds like high school and trade are so empty

Wicker10 was easily the gem of the growtopia community, all his videos were so entertaining I'm honestly sad he deleted his old vids
He was the only high quality growtopia youtuber. Of course there some good ones like Terry or benbarrage old videos but wicker10 was the only one I'd consider to be of high quality
I used to play back when I was 8-9 or so which is like 6 years+ back and damn the community was honestly so wholesome back then, no one knew what they were doing but they enjoyed every single moment or little wl that they earned/got. Those are the times I will forever miss..
Some people will just call this game a plain game. But for so many people, including me it wasn't just a game. Met so many good people on there, so many good memories and amazing communities were created over the years. As Grow grew, I grew with it. Its been years since I touched and even logged on, and I don't ever plan on logging on again. But its nice to once in awhile look at these flashback videos of all the great things that came each year from the game. Its crazy how a game I downloaded to pass time gave me so much life and something to look forward to for a few years. :) I hope it did with many others it did with me. Truly sad not everyone will be able to experience the feelings we all got from this game
I really miss those times man. All my friends used to be online, games like fashion, dice and spleef used to be everywhere you go, there were even parkour worlds that won WOTD everyday. When i used to play, the community wasn't ass good, people were toxic and alot of scams were going on. But aside from that, the game meant so much to me...
Now tho... the game's just a shadow of what it used to be. The community now is more chikl than it used to be but... what's the point in talking with this new community? Almost of my good friends have quitted, all the fun games are gone, no more parkours, no more having fun with friends... i never got contacts of any friends except 2... My bestest friend 'Tiklietuve' unfriended me and i haven't talked to her in 3 years... her name is Stylliova now and i visit her world 'ausrinesfarm2' daily to see if she's online, but she is not... my best friend Savagebih (Jenuge) occasionally plays and my best buddy Zui (i have his contact) plays alot nowdays... these are the only 2 people that are making me play the game.

Man it was a very social game until the grinding updates came and overshadowed played it years since 2014 and slowly losing interest in 2018 and once covid came and went
I am a 2013 player, back then 1world lock meant everything people weren’t all in it for the World Locks and people were all playing spleef and all those games now i still play after quitting for 3 years. These were the best years of my childhood. Nowadays, all of us OG players have grown up and quit. Although the game hasn't officially died yet, it has no soul left, and is only a zombie of what it used to be. I started around the time of the Carny update in 2014. This video made me cry, as it brought back thousands of random memories and thoughts from certain moments in my life where I was playing Growtopia, which I back then didn't regard as very special. In my opinion, the game died in February of 2017. Especially nostalgic was the "no copyright gaming music" that every Growtopia youtuber and Wannabe Growtopia youtuber, including 11-year-old me in 2016, put on their videos.
I remember spending hours upon hours trying to splice a bunch of shit to make the ripper wings... take me back
Back then I farmed random crap with my small-locked world, I earned little gems but I was an extreme random seed hoarder whenever I get enough gems I buy that pack!
There is no other game that replaces this unique system, I want home back too.
2014 was a gold year for me, i wasted 3k hours talking with friends, splicing seeds, farming. All good days

Really.. What exactly happend to Growtopia? It used to be a fun and exciting indie type of game. Now its just scams, casinos, and bots spamming everywhere. I cant even communicate with other players in this version of Growtopia, they are so mean and not as fun as before... I remembered, i was so excited to play this game after school, and when i am not allowed to do it, i would watch GT videos on youtube with my brothers, and i remembered building houses, main worlds, writing our names on it, with DIRT! It was a hell of an experience.. Sad to see it go down like this... Well i am happy that this type of experience was in my life... Thank you so much Hamumu and Seth, for creating this beatiful game.

Just revisited my account after quitting about 4 years ago, after a classmate hacked my account. Lost around 5DLs worth of items. Been playing since around 2013. This game made up most of childhood memories. I remember hanging out with people, playing games, just talking.
It was strange seeing it again, the new items, new interface, new features. Diamond horns now being 400WLs when I got mine for around 20.
I also visited game today and it is so terrible to see TRADE with 4 people in the world. Can’t imagine what happened in years I didn’t played
I remembered playing Spleef in Growtopia whenever Im bored. I was always in the top and sometimes won in different matches. Its the good ol days

Played since 2014 march and Growtopia was not just game. It was another world. And this world teached me how to communicate with people and smile, help and donate to everyone i see in Growtopia and real life too.
I will never forget those happy days.
Growtopia changes lives.
Memories that can't be returned, where playing this game is just for fun and to find true friends but everything has changed, I miss those days.
I love this, the days when i am just farming and socializing with people normally, and making friends. But to that one friend there, Flair, and the friend who helped me progress who quit mid 2020. I miss you guys.

Nostalgia hits hard I remember first getting my nintendo switch and soon after my laptop and started playing growtopia, That was ages ago I still play the game but it isnt like before I wish we could go back in time without all the scammers and just the golden age of gt.

Looking back at these is golden, not just my childhood but others too. I really miss the old days where you would just sit and socialize on for hours, role play, etc, the fun events that anyone could take part in. Especially making genuine friends in the game. Right now currently it's in a dying state of old age, really changed a lot for the game where only being rich matters greed took much out of it. Well everything has its end, and I'm happy to see the journey I had as a fellow growtopian.

Watching this made me realize again how unique and great Growtopia is as a game, Growtopia being one of my childhood games I've learn a lot and made a lot of friends sadly I've lose the motivation to play this game because of its current state but the game will always have a special place in my heart always will be, if there's a possibility to make this game as great as before and be revive to it was before I would love to play it again don't get me wrong the game is great it's just its not the same as it was.

The golden days…
I joined Growtopia in early 2015. This game taught me so much at a young age. I learned about the dangers of the internet, scams, trust, hardwork, investing, etc. I’ve been scammed for over 50DLS and don’t regret losing it. It taught me that you can’t really trust everyone you meet, even if it’s your friend. I actually came back to the game a couple years ago for memories and was almost scammed again. It goes to show that the community only cares about the money. Without this game, Idk where I would be. Thank you Growtopia.

I miss these days 2013-2015 back then there were no hacker,bots and bad community sure there were still scammers but half the time they were legit. Back then a single World lock was like a blue eyes white dragon to me ,and all the fun mini games rn were made back then too. to simply put it life was simple and fun, enjoy it while you still can before you grow up.

Now its not fun. Everyone just wants the most wls and you are laughed at if you are poor like me. I dont have a dl. i just play with my few wls and enjoi the game.

- No Ubisoft
- No auto-farm bots, hacks and spammers
- No Gambling / Casino
- Less but more valueable items with less visual effects
- No WL Inflation everything has a decent value and economy is much more stable.
- No Game Breaking Bugs in every update.
- Updates come slow but stable.
- No OP p2w Items (Rayman, Magplant)
- Much more mixed and friendly, non-toxic community. (Now way too many Indonesian and Turkish People)
- Mods are loyal, kind and friendly.
- Less but High Quality TH-camrs
- Not many rich players and rare name worlds owned (back then when buy+ worlds weren't that popular people used to always trade their items in famous worlds such as TRADE, ITEMS, SEEDS, SEEDIARY, DISNEYLAND etc.)
No Vending machines (They only make rich people even more rich.)
Really miss old days.
1:26 You can see how GT players are just breaking the trees and stopped when all the trees are harvested. But if you did that today your world will be destroyed.
Could argue that seth was in the world so it stopped people from doing that but yea now even if their mods in the world it would still be destroyed amd trash

Quitting and coming back, again and again. I got almost no friend, most of them quitted. Cousins that I used to play with, they quitted, they are adult now.
