you may think I'm strange by how I plant my plants, but it's for a reason I have my stem plant's in 2 liter bottles (X amount per bottle) I have for substrate in each bottle a layer of lava rock in the very bottom & the next layer is river rock & the last layer is P-gravel, I have a root tab in the bottom of the bottle there's 3 rows of holes around each bottle. I left a comment in another video I watched talking about Valisneria & now I found this video so I will be following your suggestions on growing aquatic low-tech plant's cause I'm growing them to help my local aquatic store get some extra plant's for his place & for me too.
That's great! I don't think it's strange how you're growing them. People trying to propagate plants in masses usually don't go with an expensive route. Plastic is normal. I did respond to your Vallisneria question. Thanks for watching 🤙
I mainly use root tabs now, but when I was fertilizing the water column I used dry fertilizers from green leaf aquariums, the absolute cheapest way to fertilize. A pound of Nitrate and Phosphate lasted me years. If I was going the liquid route the Aquarium Coop stuff looks goods.
I chose your least favorite "Flourish" because I have shrimp in my aquarium and I thought you wanted a fertilizer that didn't have a lot of copper which is dangerous for shrimp. In your opinion what is a safe fertilizer for an aquarium with shrimp?
They're a bunch to choose from. Easy green, Leaf zone, Fluval etc. If you read the guaranteed analysis of the liquid fertilizer you buy first it'll mention it it has it. Hope that helps 🙂
Very interesting video. Thank you for the comparison. I use aquarium coop products. I really haven’t tried anything else. My plants have always seemed to grow well so I just stick with what has worked.
Don't fix what's not broken. I can tell you're very aware of that concept. Thank you for watching anyway, makes me feel you enjoy being here if you'll listen to a topic that doesn't concern you. 🤙
Hello I am a new sub I had a question I was looking to get like jungle look and with some ferns and vals (cockscrew) with some more not yet decided I have like a 100 ltr( I'm not sure in gallons) sorry planning on rescaping my old setup Would poor man's EI dosing help if I am planning to start a low tech setup

I do hydroponics. My lastest videos are all about that. Orchids are epiphytes. How are you growing them in water?

flourish is dirty and stinks like mad too
It's definitely extremely dirty. However, I don't find it stinky. It's just clay. Now Ecocomplete stinks to high heaven because it's soaked in sulfur.
I just realized you were talking about the fertilizer. Lol
Yeah, it stinks and turns your water green.
