By 1953, Hines sold the right to use his name and the title of his book to Roy H. Park to form Hines-Park Foods, which licensed the name to a number of food-related businesses. The cake mix license was sold to Nebraska Consolidated Mills in Omaha, Nebraska, which developed and sold the first Duncan Hines cake mixes. So Duncan himself was not actually involved directly in a cake company.
Barbara Hammer eventually became a experimental films and a professor at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee. She created films dealing with women's issues such as gender roles, lesbian relationships and coping with aging and family.
When Hy Gardner made that rude remark to Duncan Hines, at least the moderator knew enough to know it was wrong (by the way he reacted). On What's My Line (which I LOVE alot more than this show), but on What's My Line, Fred Allen made rude remarks all the time (and Arlene made one or two herself), but nobody even cared. It just like, "Whatever; no big deal." I never heard anyone on THIS show say anything rude though (til now)
Sounds like a cheap shot made for whatever reason he chose at the time. I believe acts always come back to the sender whether in this lifetime or another, a good reason to be kind.
Gardner always makes wisecracks that are at least somewhat rude. In this he said one woman had a poodle haircut, and then that one boy was small enough to fit in a soapbox without removing the soap.

Polly did not try to steal all the attention but Hy Gardner is becoming a bit annoying. He made some comments that he should not have made. It was good that the classy Bud called him out. Hy also should not make jokes about someone's height. He was not a big man at all. Thanks for the video.
Johan Bengtsson I don't know what answers Hy and Ralph found to be so impressive from #1 in game 3. I thought it was #2, because he seemed to know the soap box derby rules so well. (Of course, he may have been making it up, have researched it, or even been a legitimate derby participant -- just not the winner.) Besides, I don't think there was ever an airport in England that was simply called London Airport. There has been a London City airport since 1981, but that didn't exist in 1957. I got every game wrong in this episode, as usual. I thought #1 had the best answers in game 1 and was surprised nobody picked him, and I thought #3 was the real one in game 2 for the same reason as Kitty.
I had no idea there was a real Duncan Hines! It's too bad they use his name to pass off inferior cake mixes nowadays. :( Hy Gardner couldn't sound more New York and Jewish if he tried! :)

Duncan Hines died in 1959 sadly. Born in 1880 so would have been 79.
