      Here (in animation) in the converging section the pressure is decreasing ( red to yellow ) from inlet to the throat .. ...
      But at first (1:14) in the problem it is saying that the pressure in the converging section increases
      Any idea
      ..

      Hey Sonu,
      In converging section from inlet to throat, the pressure reduces and velocity increases. No doubt in that. It happens as per the Bernoulli principle.
      I saw that in the video he said differently. I think he messed up that part

    1:15 You mixed up pressure and flow velocity in the convergent nozzle. Nozzle section: Flow velocity v increase while pressure decrease. In fact in a laval nozzle flow velocity is increasing all the time while pressure is decreasing...

      doppeldeluxe Instead of giving velocity inlet 442 m/s I have used 3bar pressure inlet , both are same!!

    Good presentation Professor, please check your third PPT you mentioned that pressure increases and velocity decreases in the converging part of CD nozzle, which require correction. In the CD nozzle from inlet to outlet pressure decreases and velocity increases

      KANNAN K Sir is CD nozzle the pressure increases in inlet comparing the exit divergent part !! what ever I have mentioned in ppt is right !! It's the core theory of C-D nozzle !!

      Hello sir, If the flow is subsonic at the inlet of convergent part and the flow velocity decreases in the convergent part..
      Then according to this, sonic condition can not be achieved at the throat. Think about this sir....

      If flow is subsonic:-
      In convergent duct- flow accelerates.
      in divergent duct- flow decelerates.
      If flow is supersonic:-
      In convergent duct- flow decelerates
      in divergent duct- flow accelerates.

    Pressure increase and velocity decreases in convergent section during subsonic flow. You have to correct it. A blunder.

    @Nir Modan don't apply the Boundary condition on to outlet.Since the outlet pressure is subjected to atmosphere,it should be given as zero to initiate CFD packages to compute and simulate the realistic analysis

    I'm trying to make a non-premixed combustion in Fluent, I will use liquid ethanol (C2H5OH) and liquid oxygen (O2). But I don't know how put the mol fraction from ethanol in the boundary tab to do PDF table creation. Do you know how to do this?

    dear sir, if flow within a nozzle is symmetric about its axis, half of the model is sufficient with symmetry boundary. isn't it ?

      The Symmetry will not give exact approximation !! You can simulate and check it

    Let's say I want to simulate a situation like this...but only for a nozzle which gives out drops or say a printhead nozzle. How could I change the settings and provide a similar stream line ?

    i'm trying to make a shockwave in the divergent part. how should i do that? i tried to raise the outlet pressure but nothing happend.

      Nir Modan if u reduce the pressure than then inlet u get reverse shocks,
      As per Continuity equation -The mass flow Inlet is same at the outlet and We consider the pressure at Outlet as Pressure farfield or Pressure = 0 to Simulate the exact atmospheric condition

    I am research student I have seen your tutorial of ANSYS Fluent workbench C-D NOZZLE this is helpful but sir I am doing research on square nozzle .I am concentrate on plume area where shock is produced .

    why do you have a 2,82 Mach and later you got only 609,4 m/s? the math is not right.. you should get close to 958 m/s.. Am I wrong?

      Speed of sound is higher at higher temps.

      ok, in new versiin of ansys you need to use face meshing + sizings to get a structured mesh
