Thank you for this video. I wasn't expecting just simply speaking the words "I am an artist" to bring me to tears. I have PTSD after being in an abusive relationship for a few years in my early 20s. An interesting thing about trauma is that it can affect your ability to imagine. For a period of about 7 years I was just simply unable to do art or create anything. I grew up loving art and music, and I always identified myself as being a creative person. Losing that part of my identity was very difficult. It's now been 4 years since I left my abuser, and I'm just starting to actually get excited about art and I've started creating my own pieces again. That's how I know I'm healing. Sorry if this is TMI. I just wanted you to know that the message of your video touched this random stranger very deeply.

....I never wanted to "be an artist" ........I wanted to paint what I saw in my head. You have to learn the mechanics of color and what strokes produce the images you want ....how to capture light, shadow, warmth, cool........it requires work. Being an "artist" is in your soul, it's the need to create and express what you see, hear, feel. Put a group of 8 yr. olds in a room with paint and canvas, walk them through painting a tree....you'll find the artist, if your lucky.......one. If it was easy, everyone would do it.
I've struggled to reconcile my desire to create as an artist with my Christian beliefs. I finally decided I am a Christian Artist and will merge my beliefs with my art rather than choose between the two. No more toxic religious people allowed in my life to criticize the images I create as unbiblical. I believe my gift, my desire, my calling involves my art and crafts and to deny them is to deny God's calling on my life.
Thanks for this. I tell people that "I hate art snobs." Mainly because I firmly believe everyone is an artist in some medium whether it be fine art, craft, textiles, culinary, literature, gardening, etc. I like to point people to Van Gogh's quotes, “I am always doing what I cannot do yet, in order to learn how to do it.” “If you hear a voice within you say you cannot paint, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.” I love making what is for me art and I hate when I hear people being discouraged because what is their art isn't someone else's cup of tea. Art is incredibly personal and individual. No one can really replicate someone else's art. IMHO

This video is so amazing right now. My 6 year old granddaughter stayed with me recently and was looking at my watercolor space. She said “MiMi! You are a real ARTIST!!” It made my heart so happy!
Growing up, everyone I met called me an artist. So I never doubted. However, after getting married I no longer had to pay the rent! Sadly, my urgency to create art through sketch and paint went totally dormant for decades, though I created useful items in textiles. And I collected art supplies never really used, because I felt I had too many responsibilities to take the time. Over time I realized my fine motor skills for fingering brush or pen were being lost due to hard work ranching. Recently I began painting with acrylic and watercolor again, having made space right in the front room next to the woodstove and am amazed at how quickly with just a few minutes a day and now at least an hour of practice in the early morning hours I am coming back to one of my favorite activities of my life. This video came into my feed, and I am so impressed with your philosophy that I am going to go through more of your videos to learn what I can from you. First off, your encouraging words for the public are real gems! I never would have thought to dress for the occasion, as I paint in whatever clothing I am wearing and spread paint in between my other daily chores as I can. Probably will not change my clothes as I get worse things on them than paint each day, HA! Thank you very much for the nice push I need to prioritize time for artwork.

Ooh yes, I am an artist!!! I’ve always been an artist, in each medium I’ve created with. Being gourd pyrographer and instrument creator, jewelry artist, fiber dyeing, spinning, needle and wet felting artist…and after a very serious health crisis, I’m now an artist who paints in the medium of watercolor. Believe it or not, I’m learning to paint in my bed, for the most part! My daily situation is that, after 2 long year’s, I’ve been blessed with enough good moments in each day to immerse myself in the world of watercolor, and have spent months (just about an hour each day), creating w/an inexpensive set, brushes and paper. I hope someone reads this that is also feeling blocked by health and wanting to dive into creating art…but isn’t mobile enough to be doing it at the traditional “artist” level! Sorry for the long comment and thank you for this post!!!🧑🎨💜
Wow. I made a comment here about serendipity, then come upon yours! I have advancing immuno- and neurological disorders and my days are basically spent on the couch after an "exhausting" hour of painting, say - you get it. For starters, do yourself the kindness of treating the artist that you are to decent materials: ideally the best paper you can afford - that made the most important difference for me. I find painting on couch not great though and am constantly misplacing things, but the prospect of painting is my single most important reason for getting up in the morning.

I really needed to hear this. I have wanted to be an artist my whole life. I started drawing portraits about 2 years ago and started painting about a year ago. I never wanted to call myself an artist because I thought people would think "who does she think she is?" But my son encouraged me to sell some paintings at our local Holiday Market last month and I actually sold a couple of my paintings! Those people don't even know how much they've changed my life just by supporting me like that. It was life changing. I've spent the last 20 years home schooling my kids and now that they're grown, I'm like "what do I do with myself now?" Now I am encouraged to keep going!
How serendipitous. Yesterday afternoon, after two years of post- pandemic tutorials, l finished a painting that was my own concept, from beginning to end. It was just then that l heard my voice in my head out of the blue, saying "I'm an artist!". As for sharing paintings done from demonstrations that have turned out well, it felt like cheating to share them, even while crediting the artist. Thanks for this!
It’s not cheating when you are the one who painted the picture- even if you followed a tutorial. It’s quite empowering, isn’t it, when you create something all in your own- congratulations on that huge milestone!
wow. you just single handedly changed my life in 5 minutes, what i was never able to understand in the past 40 years i understood just now. this advice can not just be taken by artists, but by EVERYONE in every field and personality if transfered accordingly. truly thank you so so much for not just this art advice, but this lifechanging experience. ❤😊
Yes! I am an artist! I may have only been painting for less than two months, but I have made art, thus I am an artist, and I intend to keep BEING an artist. 😁
Thank you! I sketch or paint almost every day, so I will now say "I am an artist". Years ago I would visualize myself painting in Mexico. Well, Mexico didn't happen; I married, had children, moved several times, but the pandemic happened, and I started painting to save myself. I am now 80 yo and loving WC. Best thing I ever did!
I think MANY people started painting in the pandemic. You are not alone. I'm glad you are enjoying watercolor. Thanks for watching and leaving feedback. I really appreciate it.
Wow, this is the best inspirational advice I have heard. It reinforces the fact, that 'I am an artist ', thank you soon much!!! And I will paint every day, even if it's for only 5 to 10 minutes. Thank you and God Bless!
Sometimes when I want to make art but just can't, I smear paint around in my journal. Or glue paper into it. This helps keep me in touch with creating.
That last point really hit different. I've accumulated a monstrous amount of wonderful art supplies, carefully picked, but as a university student with some odd jobs on top of that, it's really difficult to make the time to paint. I work the odd jobs to buy the supplies and then barely use them.
THANK YOU! You don't need to sell your art or to have attended an art school to be an artist. I personally think that art includes even paintings or drawings made by children. There is no hierarchy between art pieces, they just are different and you can't say that some paintings are better than others. It's just a matter of criterias. If your main criteria is the technique you can say that some pictures are better than other one. I personally don't care about it because I have other criterias. I don't want to improve my technical skills because I want to express something else.
I can confidently say yes, I am an artist. I spend time studying it, practicing, and sacrificed for it. I’m in no means good at it, but I know it is a journey. And when someone asks me, I admit exactly this.
Thank you for these words! I painted with acrylics for several years then was diagnosed with far (end stage kidney failure) & still wanted to do art so now doing watercolors and like one person said, I’m not Van Gogh but enjoy putting beautiful colors on paper and enjoy the process even if it’s just swatching colors 😊!
Thank you for this! ❤ I have never been, as far back as I can remember, NOT been an artist. I just have never claimed the title or said it out loud. I grew up in a household that prioritized math and science and that's the path I took but deep inside that artist was always there...
Thank you for this! I am too quick to deny and defer but at the end of the day, I love making art, love learning and seeing what other creatives are up to. I just need to tell myself this, over and over. I am an artist!! I'm writing this on my bathroom mirror so that I see it each and every day!
If you make art, you are an artist. Doesn't matter who thinks it's good. To be a professional artist, that requires being paid for your art. BUT YES, if you create art you are an artist!
@@treeman8823 Well, you need a degree from medical school to be a qualified doctor, and I gather you need specialised training to become a reputable car mechanic. An artist doesn't have any requirements of that nature. Yes, someone can do a three-year course at art college and get a degree, but it's not essential. Paul Gauguin never had any formal training. He immersed himself in art after giving up his respectable job as a stockbroker. It's perfectly fine for an artist to be self-taught. With doctors on the other hand, we naturally assume they're not self-taught when we go into hospital for an operation.
@@treeman8823 The point is there are objective real earth consequences when a doctor, mathemetician, mechanic etc mess up, an artist doesn't have those responsibilities, you're making a bad comparison and getting into a hissy fit.
Oh my gosh, Kris, I don't know you and I like your positive attitude. I want to believe that this question is aimed at children and special people. I was about to make a joke, but I won't be rude because you seem like a good person and an artist like me, even though my clothes are stained with paint, I don't have time for that. You're doing a fantastic job. Note: I am still practicing English for better understanding, this is a google translation.
I'm an artist! Thank you so so much for developing this video and posting it. we are all reflections of our mind and spirit and it is such a pleasure to have met you through this video!❤
Thank you so much. I am aware I deny myself as an artist although others who see my work are amazed. I will validate myself now on and not seek validation from any one outside of me. Thank you for the gift of this message! ❤
This is very helpful. I’m a beginner in abstract art and I am having this self doubt for the past 5 years that I’m not good enough and I will never be an artist. Today is the first day I said it loud that I’m an artist after watching this video and I feel so confident and powerful that I will make it happen. Thank you so much for this golden advice. ❤❤❤
Someone actually asked me if I’m an artist a few days ago and I was kind of ashamed to claim being an artist because I see lots of people who call themselves artist and make beautiful art yet my drawings were never good enough from my own perspective. But my sister who was also with me then said yes she is an artist you make art that makes you an artist. And now I saw your video and it actually gives me much more self confidence about what I’m doing. Even tho it still feels hard to admit being an artist and not some who’s just trying to be one thank you very much for your video. It really makes young artists like myself really happy 🩷 I wish you a great day
Excellent advice. I have been an artist all my life but just recently decided to come "out of the closet" after being an engineer and a professional administrator. I look back with sadness at all those decades lost doing something that did not inspire my life. I am now in my mid-fifties, and it was just less than one month ago that I reviewed my life and had my epiphany moment, where I realized that I have always been an artist since I was a little child.
Thank you for making this video! This topic resonates deeply with me, and I struggle to call myself anything other than, maybe, a 'hobby-artist'. And yes, it is currently a hobby as I am still learning, but I would absolutely LOVE to confidently see myself as an artist, and take bigger leaps of faith in terms of promoting myself as an artist. It almost feels like I am not allowed to call myself that, that it is up to others to decide. Being proud of our achievements and our growth doesn't seem to come easy, but you are right, there's nothing wrong with calling ourselves 'artists'. I will have to practice that one by myself in front of the mirror😁 And I believe what you said, that with changing our perspective, we stop prohibiting us from going further. Thanks once again, your words really hit the spot. ❤
🎨Thanks so much, Kris. I really enjoy your positive attitude. I tend to say I am painting, but not that I am an artist. Like a say I run, but I am not a runner. But you are 100% right. I could say I am an artist, without saying I am a professional artist. I am an artist, even though I don't sell my art. Your videos always inspire me. After watching I got up and did a picture using my new and little understood soft pastels, just to have some fun. Also, I need to get myself a uniform. 😃
Love it. I'm glad you found a bit of encouragement from this video. It has had a very positive response from many people. I think I touched a subject that is very important to people.
I love the way you're seeing this. For me, artists are people that go into the other worlds and bring stuff back to write about, paint, or make music with. We are the cross-overs
When asked will say, Yes, I’m an artist but no Van Gogh. Joking in a way but due to parents (telling me was a musician) & got to top of state but always felt/knew wanted to do my art (crayons first), colored pencils, acrylics & now learning watercolors online! Tyvm & best one actually paint 😊!
Oh my god...thanks for those wonderful words....you made me to grab my art supplies and practice because I don't have skills and I love art supplies...I'm going to practice right now Thank you, thank you, thank you.😘
Hey kris hope you doing great Just wanted to say thank you❤ for your kindness and loving approach towards the masses. Also I'm feeeling alot of motherly energy from you❤ may God bless you lovely soul Amen. ❤❤
Agree with all of this! I've always been creative but it wasn't until I fell in love with watercolor that I started thinking myself as more artist over creative. After a work injury my watercolor is a form of therapy as well. The first time I owned it was walking into a local art center/gallery for first time and they asked if i was an artist. Lol a very proud "yes I am" flew out of my mouth before I realized it😅 had a great conversation there and walked out and said "Yep, I'm an artist now"...Great feeling and my art took a turn for the better, too!🥰
It took me a long time to accept being called an artist by my clients. I was more focused on being a craftsman and being really good at that. I finally accepted being an artist when I started teaching at an art college without having an art degree.
Few months ago I moved to a new shared house and the landlord saw my paintings and started to hang everywhere. I was surprised and she said: you are an artist and needs to expose it. Since then I started to believe it. Today I painted a new canvas and I got some feedback with people saying oh you an artist. As you said, it helped me to believe on myself 😊
You, my lady, are such a cool person, an absolute role model! I'm going to do all of this from now on, thanks for pointing that out, it never even occured to me since now.
I can verify that what one believes about oneself does actually work. The example from my own life is unrelated to art, but it still illustrates the point you're making, Kris. Up to and including 2004, I wanted to be a non-smoker. Usually when you try to quit, you get some gum, lozenges, or nicotine patches, and then you have to go through a 3-step program lasting 3 months, stepping down your intake each month. Or, at least, that's the program presented in all of these methods. (I suspect this is how they make their money.) The focus is on >quitting
Thank you, it’s so simple but powerful message. It’ really difficult to identify myself us an artist because I all the time confront with great painters that was revolutionary. The idea that I can’t bring something new is terrifying and at the same moment I understand that it’s possible if I approach daily doing something, but I’m same moment the fear is always somewhere close.
My now husband, when we were dating, was the first one to call me an artist. I wasn’t even painting at the time but playing music. He saw I wasn’t just following instructions but am a creative person. That shifted how I thought about myself. I am an artist!!
This was a good one, we have the same philosophy when it comes to our philosophy of Krsna Consciousness, in a nutshell, I have to remember my eternal relationship with Krsna as an eternal servant of His. And in this life I have to revive this.
Thanks for watching and sharing. I'm a Christian and believe we are made in God's image. He is a creator....so I believe we share in His Creative work. :-)
this is excellent excellent I listened to it twice and sharing with mom who WAS and IS a great artist that cannot even see it, same with me, we both even have gifts to paint draw and write and didnt know how to cultivate this. We both are resonating so deeply with this video
It's like you were talking to me but forgot my name. I have a library with books about drawing and I can start my own shop with art supplies. My wife and I had a good laugh about tip number five, I can count my drawings with one finger. But I can feel that I am one step verder, from this day on I call myself an artist!
@@KrisDeBruineStudio I really think there lives an artist in me who wants to get out, I am just afreight it is a bad artist. That makes me a bit hesitant to start. I hope your tips wil give that artist a chance. Thanks for your inspiration!
I believed that am an artist, long before I learnt anything about art. It was not part of my schooling, yet I went through my badic art and design course with flying colours and my career was in applied art. It is only since retirement that I have begun to be, who.I knee that I am. Thank you for your tips.
ive dreamt of being an artist since i was like 14 back in 2012, i drew 3h each day, everyday (and still do), but i always struggled to call myself an artist since i felt the quality of my work wasen't up to part to earn that title; so i called myself an aspiring artist instead (and to some extent i still kinda do) but now i feel ive earned it, not for the quality of my work but because of all the years of hard work ive put in.
Thank you for the advice, I find that when we have the passion to create , if you are a creative person most people usually are talented to pick more then one skill , allow yourself to explore, as person ounce said , things change, you can put a dream idea down and find yourself later picking it up back again in multi ways 👏💡
Thank you so very much for this video You have answered all my questions and things that I have thought about with painting and drawing and things that I have done, like buying myself a set of colorful overalls to be my designated painting clothes also how I have been wanting to consider myself as an Artist I have always loved art, as a child I enjoyed drawing. I once found on the inside of a match pack an art contest, where the winner would be send to art school for free. I send away for the art booklet and when i completed it, I send it in. A few weeks later two men stopped by my house to let me know that I have won. My mom told them that I am only 13 years old and I had to be 18 to enter the contest, I was listening in from upstairs cause I thought I would get into trouble because I lied about my age, I was so disappointed that I could not go to art school. But I have always wanted to be an artist. Sorry for such a long post, I just wanted to share my story :) Everything you talked about in your video, it was like you were inside my head and knew me :)

wow. you just single handedly changed my life in 5 minutes, what i was never able to understand in the past 40 years i understood just now. this advice can not just be taken by artists, but by EVERYONE in every field and personality if transfered accordingly. truly thank you so so much for not just this art advice, but this lifechanging experience. ❤😊
Wow. Thanks
Yes! I am an artist! I may have only been painting for less than two months, but I have made art, thus I am an artist, and I intend to keep BEING an artist. 😁
Also, I don't draw well, but I can sure paint! hahaha Just finished my favorite piece yet yesterday!
That is awesome!
This helps keep me in touch with creating.
thanks for watching and sharing
I was a commercial artist then a jewelry maker, so I have no trouble saying that I'm an artist today. I'm new to watercolor, but I am loving it.
That is awesome! You are an artist.
That last point really hit different. I've accumulated a monstrous amount of wonderful art supplies, carefully picked, but as a university student with some odd jobs on top of that, it's really difficult to make the time to paint. I work the odd jobs to buy the supplies and then barely use them.
I understand. I encourage you today....to PAINT!! :-)
Kris, spot on with today's video. Self-talk is so powerful, both positive and negative.
I agree. Thank you
I don't want to improve my technical skills because I want to express something else.
thanks for watching and sharing
I can confidently say yes, I am an artist. I spend time studying it, practicing, and sacrificed for it. I’m in no means good at it, but I know it is a journey. And when someone asks me, I admit exactly this.
thanks for watching and sharing
Thank you for these words! I painted with acrylics for several years then was diagnosed with far (end stage kidney failure) & still wanted to do art so now doing watercolors and like one person said, I’m not Van Gogh but enjoy putting beautiful colors on paper and enjoy the process even if it’s just swatching colors 😊!
I'm sorry to hear about your health issue. But glad you have found a creative outlet with watercolor. It is wonderful.
Thank you for this! ❤ I have never been, as far back as I can remember, NOT been an artist. I just have never claimed the title or said it out loud. I grew up in a household that prioritized math and science and that's the path I took but deep inside that artist was always there...
You are so welcome! I hope you can say it out loud! :-)
Thank you for this! I am too quick to deny and defer but at the end of the day, I love making art, love learning and seeing what other creatives are up to. I just need to tell myself this, over and over.
I am an artist!! I'm writing this on my bathroom mirror so that I see it each and every day!
Great idea!!
If you make art, you are an artist. Doesn't matter who thinks it's good. To be a professional artist, that requires being paid for your art. BUT YES, if you create art you are an artist!
Thanks!!
Yup...if you put a bandaid on a cut...you are a doctor. if you add washer fluid to your car...you are a mechanic. (sigh)
@@KrisDeBruineStudio you make me feel like Remy from ratatouille when he was watching Gusteau on the TV.
But instead of cooking, it’s drawing.
@@treeman8823 The point is there are objective real earth consequences when a doctor, mathemetician, mechanic etc mess up, an artist doesn't have those responsibilities, you're making a bad comparison and getting into a hissy fit.
Thanks for the encouragement Kris.🙏
I am an artist.👩🎨
Yes you are!! :-)
Note: I am still practicing English for better understanding, this is a google translation.
thank you for watching
Thank you!! I declare : I am an artist!
Great!!!
Yay! Good for you!!👍
I'm an artist! Thank you so so much for developing this video and posting it. we are all reflections of our mind and spirit and it is such a pleasure to have met you through this video!❤
thank you
A couple years ago, my daughter referred to herself as an "artist imaginationer", and I wish the whole world had that sense of self.
thank you for watching
Thank you so much. I am aware I deny myself as an artist although others who see my work are amazed. I will validate myself now on and not seek validation from any one outside of me. Thank you for the gift of this message! ❤
Youre welcome
This is very helpful. I’m a beginner in abstract art and I am having this self doubt for the past 5 years that I’m not good enough and I will never be an artist. Today is the first day I said it loud that I’m an artist after watching this video and I feel so confident and powerful that I will make it happen. Thank you so much for this golden advice. ❤❤❤
Glad it was helpful!
It really makes young artists like myself really happy 🩷 I wish you a great day
You too!!!
It's definitely hard to say the words out loud and really feel I have the right to say it. Great video, thankyou for this
thanks for watching and sharing
Excellent advice. I have been an artist all my life but just recently decided to come "out of the closet" after being an engineer and a professional administrator. I look back with sadness at all those decades lost doing something that did not inspire my life. I am now in my mid-fifties, and it was just less than one month ago that I reviewed my life and had my epiphany moment, where I realized that I have always been an artist since I was a little child.
I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for sharing your journey! I wish you the best!!
You're welcome. Thanks for sharing
Wow. That's an interesting way to say it.
Thanks for sharing
I love this Kris. I am an artist!!! Thanks for all of your encouragement! ❤
You're welcome. Thanks for watching and sharing
Oh my god...thanks for those wonderful words....you made me to grab my art supplies and practice because I don't have skills and I love art supplies...I'm going to practice right now Thank you, thank you, thank you.😘
Thank you
I am an artist! Thank you for your great advice.. the uniform idea I like and plan to implement!👍
Wonderful
Thank you for this motivational boost.
You are so welcome!
Hey kris hope you doing great
Just wanted to say thank you❤ for your kindness and loving approach towards the masses.
Also I'm feeeling alot of motherly energy from you❤ may God bless you lovely soul Amen. ❤❤
Wow. Thank you so much.
Lol a very proud "yes I am" flew out of my mouth before I realized it😅 had a great conversation there and walked out and said "Yep, I'm an artist now"...Great feeling and my art took a turn for the better, too!🥰
Great story. Thanks for sharing
I appreciate how well-thought out and articulate your remarks were in this video. Very inspiring, and YES, I AM AN ARTIST!! New subscriber!
thank you for watching
Thanks your so spot on . Your words lifted my spirit today.
So glad!
Thank you Kris, I needed to hear this. I haven’t been doing my art for a long time, you have inspired me to do it again ❤
thanks for watching and sharing
It took me a long time to accept being called an artist by my clients. I was more focused on being a craftsman and being really good at that. I finally accepted being an artist when I started teaching at an art college without having an art degree.
:-)
Wise and sensible words, thank you!
Glad you like it.
Wonderful
You, my lady, are such a cool person, an absolute role model! I'm going to do all of this from now on, thanks for pointing that out, it never even occured to me since now.
You are so welcome!
This was so inspiring and encouraging! Thank you! ❤
thank you for watching
Wow, this is very practical and direct advice. Love it.
I'm glad you think so. Thanks for watching
Thank you so much for this video. I struggled to label myself as an artist, but now I am assured. Your encouragement is highly appreciated.
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much for sharing your powerful story.
Wow Kris, beautiful words of encouragement and advice. Exactly what I needed to hear today. Thank you so much for sharing!
you're welcome
Absolut, Born as an artist 👍
Yay
Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you for these words. They resonated so much with me. Thank you. I am an artist.
You are so welcome
Yay! I am an artist!😊
Yes!!!
Thank you, Kris 💚🌟
You're welcome
Thank you, it’s so simple but powerful message. It’ really difficult to identify myself us an artist because I all the time confront with great painters that was revolutionary. The idea that I can’t bring something new is terrifying and at the same moment I understand that it’s possible if I approach daily doing something, but I’m same moment the fear is always somewhere close.
Thanks for sharing.
I am an artist and I love this video. You are 100% correct…..thank you for these positive messages.🤗 🎨
You're welcome
My now husband, when we were dating, was the first one to call me an artist. I wasn’t even painting at the time but playing music. He saw I wasn’t just following instructions but am a creative person. That shifted how I thought about myself. I am an artist!!
Yay!!
Aww ❤ thank you!
You are so welcome
So true..just keep learning is not enough at all...we have to create art... frequently as much as possible
Yes. I try to paint daily.
Always grateful for your great advice! ❤
You're welcome
You definitely are an artist! Your paintings are beautiful!🎉
Thank you so much 😀
A word in due season. So encouraging. Thank you.
You're welcome
Thank you Kris! I am an artist!

thank you for watching
Thank you Kris - I AM an artist!
Yes!!!
I am an artist!! ❤thanks for encouragement
YES. I'm glad you found the video to be encouraging.
So happy I found your channel, I have been learning WC since 2019, and, here it comes, I AM AN ARTIST! Wow! Thank you!
Wonderful!
An artist is ANYBODY who creates something. Illustrations, music, sculptures, I could go on. We are all artists in our own ways.
thank you for watching
Kris, this is wonderful, thank you!
You are so welcome!
❤ this. Thank you so much! I look forward to viewing more of your videos.
Thank you
this is excellent excellent I listened to it twice and sharing with mom who WAS and IS a great artist that cannot even see it, same with me, we both even have gifts to paint draw and write and didnt know how to cultivate this. We both are resonating so deeply with this video
Thanks for listening
It's like you were talking to me but forgot my name. I have a library with books about drawing and I can start my own shop with art supplies. My wife and I had a good laugh about tip number five, I can count my drawings with one finger. But I can feel that I am one step verder, from this day on I call myself an artist!
thank you for watching
@@KrisDeBruineStudio I really think there lives an artist in me who wants to get out, I am just afreight it is a bad artist. That makes me a bit hesitant to start. I hope your tips wil give that artist a chance. Thanks for your inspiration!
I believed that am an artist, long before I learnt anything about art. It was not part of my schooling, yet I went through my badic art and design course with flying colours and my career was in applied art. It is only since retirement that I have begun to be, who.I knee that I am. Thank you for your tips.
thanks for watching and sharing
I do believe we are all artist in our own way 👍🏾
I agree
Thank you so much, it’s like you’re talking straight to me ❤.
:-)
Thank you so much. Needed to hear this. Will try and apply it as well
thanks for watching and sharing
This is so powerful! Thank you!
You're so welcome!
ive dreamt of being an artist since i was like 14 back in 2012, i drew 3h each day, everyday (and still do), but i always struggled to call myself an artist since i felt the quality of my work wasen't up to part to earn that title; so i called myself an aspiring artist instead (and to some extent i still kinda do) but now i feel ive earned it, not for the quality of my work but because of all the years of hard work ive put in.
:-)
Thank you so much. You are so encouraging and I truly needed this today.
You are so welcome
Thank you for the advice, I find that when we have the passion to create , if you are a creative person most people usually are talented to pick more then one skill , allow yourself to explore, as person ounce said , things change, you can put a dream idea down and find yourself later picking it up back again in multi ways 👏💡
Yes
I did and it feels good.
Awesome
Thanks for a great message!
Youre welcome
This would make a GREAT chapter in your memoir 😉 it's an awesome story!
@@allieeverett9017 Thanks 😊
thanks
Thank you! I needed this today. 🥰
You're welcome
Okay, you’re right, I watch too many videos on art…I ‘m getting off the couch now to get busy painting!
thank you for watching
Love it! You really inspired me to be an artist, thank you 😊
I'm so glad!
Thank you for the positive video
You're welcome
Great video Kris and I also purchased your apron after finding your very helpful videos on TH-cam last November….thank you for the encouragement from a fellow female “Artist” 🤗 from the PNW in your neck of the woods! ♥️🎨
Hi neighbor.
Yes I am an artist!!! 😁😎😇
Yay
