    I am running 3 APS gearboxes. 2 times V2, once a V3. Got to admit, i grabed the very first one because they are dirt cheap (like 60€ in germany). I think they are awesome. Beside shimming they work great out of the box. And well... if you can spent roughly 100€ on a motor, you should be fine, paying about 60€ on Piston, Head and Gears. Will stick with them for sure.

    What are you using to monitor the power load? Dmm software, or a "smart psu"
    Im keen on details, working on improving my setup on my test/ tech bench

    Question, have you tried using a regular V2 gearbox not the APS on an APS rifle?

  • @nerit10

    Honestly surprised at how long that box lasted with an M120 and a Brushless motor. The chinesium internals on the other hand aha

    Good entertainment. I have a question slightly off topic. I notice you always have the squashed part of an unequal spring on the spring guide. Is there a reason for this? In my rather limited experience having it vice versa keeps the spring straighter but im no doubt missing something. Cheers

    • @stelthtenau
      @stelthtenau ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ill answer my own question for others wondering the same thing. Apparently there is an fps drop if the spring is placed with the tighter coils forward. I dont have a chronograph atm so i can't confirm this myself. As to "why" I cannot find a scientific factual explanation.

    • @lowguidoschopshop
      @lowguidoschopshop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stelthtenau I do it just because I have always done it that way. I do not believe there is any difference either way.

    • @Daniel-vu4qu
      @Daniel-vu4qu ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stelthtenau I don't think there would be a difference fps, more so the longevity of your gearbox. On some cheap gearboxes there isn't much meat on the back of the gearbox where the retainer sits, so putting the stiffer part of the spring (the uncompressed coils) at the back means more stress on that part. You won't notice any difference on a high quality box though

  • @gelology5514
    @gelology5514 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why don't you epoxy your racks in cos it helps with the longevity of the piston man I have don't yet broken a epoxied piston apart from a aztech one cos they poo like I have run the shs ones up to about 75rps on a dsg setup and m170 spring

    If i recall correctly, tac edge voids warranty on aps boxes if you run an 11.1v.
    Dunno of this is still the case, correct me if im wrong.

    • @lowguidoschopshop
      @lowguidoschopshop  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's what I have heard too. Honestly warranty is something that I have never used or questioned because I pretty much void all warranty immediately. And fix it myself anyway.

    • @Damo1998
      @Damo1998 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought an aps phantom 1 off tac edge and had countless problems. They refused to give me a new blaster and kept trying to fix it. I bought that blaster to go to they're event and they wanted me to wait until after the event to have it fixed. They also tried to pull the bs of "you used a 11.1v battery which was never the case. Ill never get anything through them again.

      I am running their V3 with 9:1 DSG and an M150 spring. It puts out about 1.3J which is a little high for it's purpose but it works very well. Ran about 2000 shots and had only one ball bearing fail in the meantime. I am running a different piston and head though.
