Epistemic humility, contextual understanding, and intellectual phase locking.

There is so much to go over, and thank you so much again for an exciting lecture. When it comes to Donald Davidson saying that we do not hear the meanings, it makes me side with him a bit, but that might be because I play and record much synthesizer music that I have another way of hearing. Or maybe we sometimes hear the meanings and sometimes not? Or also, I consider Harold Bloom saying that there is no meaning to be found, but only relationships between meanings, so maybe we hear only relationships between meanings. I also love Davidson on charity, as much as I love your own work on inferentialism. I dare say that I can only appreciate your Genius, and I resist trying to learn all of the vocabulary and relationships between things and concepts because of a feeling that I get about Muses, believe it or not. In =The Anxiety of Influence=, Harold Bloom writes about how many poets really do not love their Muses, but that the poets just wish to have the poem, and wherever that poem takes them. That is why I appreciate you more than try learning it all, because I do not want to take your work as merely instrumental to get me myself to those sublime heights of the intellect. I suppose that has a Kantian twist to it, since I would like it if people would appreciate me for me too, and not just my synthesizer music! I hope that you and all of your students keep well and merry.

A silent way of listening, is there a silent way of speaking¿ I'm having a bit of a Simon and Garfunkel moment here.
