This man has basically brought the caracter NINJA to western cinema. During the 80s this man rocked the world. I believe hollywood has not made full use of his talent. I wish you long life grand master kosugi
Same here. True story. I was living in queens New York and at 9 I took the subway all by myself into manhattan’s Chinatown and bought tons of ninja stars and darts. I would throw them against my bedroom door and my parents were furious when they saw the holes. 40 years later I still want to one day wear a ninja outfit and assassinate someone. Not with a sword but maybe just some poisonous blow darts. Thanks Sho!
Man this guy (Kosugi) had me jumping from my roof of my house, running around the neighborhood in ninja suits as a child.. Some say he really wasnt a Ninja , but I'd beg to differ.. he was phenomoinal in Revenge of the Ninja .. that rooftop fight s was the shisshhh nit.. Glad to see he's still alive and doing well... long live Sho Kosugi one of the last remaining Ninjas of the world...
Before Sensei Kosugi became famous as a action star in the movies, he operated a Japanese karate dojo in San Gabriel, California (a suburb of Los Angeles). Even then, he was into public exhibitions and demonstrations. Congratulations to Sensei Kosugi for his outstanding martial art and movie career. He inspired so many young people to follow action movies back in his day.
This man is my childhood favorite martial artist. I grew up loving all his films Sho was fire in the 1980s... That's why Tench Stealth Assassins is my favorite ninja game it was based on him. Favorite movie ;Revenge of the Ninja
I loved SHO kosugi when I was a boy !!! Revenge of the Ninja and Enter the Ninja were awesome movies for that time. I remember his son playing his son in Revenge of the Ninja. This is the first I've heard about Sho in 30 years or more. Thanks for posting !!!
Fantastic video compilation! Sho Kosugi was, is, and always will be the absolute BEST of the best. His films, TV shows, instructional videos, books, etc... have entertained me, awed me, and inspired me since I was a child, and as this video shows he's still as incredibly skilled as ever at 70 years old. AMAZING!
When I was a kid in the 80s I watched everything Ninja and my litmus test for how good or bad it was always depended on how much it looked like Sho Kosugi. Something about the way he played his silent seriousness followed by explosive action was great and can never be fully mimicked even by bigger films like the American Ninja franchise that tryed to outright clone it
when I was a kid he was my favorite action star and now I'm an adult he still my favorite and always will be. thank you mr.kosugi for a lot of great and exciting and cherished moments in my life. I hope you and your family live a verry long and happy life you my friend and hero have earned the respect admiration and love of generations.
This mans movies inspired me to take up martial arts. A thirty five year obsession that has now passed onto my three children training. Many thanks Sho 🙏
Least appreciated and most underrated doesn't even do that man justice. With so many people, you mention his name and they're like who? Him and his sons are awesome.
@@murrik He could obviously invoke rin, pyo, to, sha, kai, jin, retsu, zai and zen. But he took it to another level of mastery with his pork sword. My uncle worked on set with him, and in his trailer he say him doing Ninja movements with his entire body, and it was as thick as a kendo stick, unerect!

Nostalgie when thinking about all those ninja movies, I`ve seen in the 80s as a kid. Bcz of all this I always stayed interested in MA and trained MA for like 14years and till this day I still watch and see MA and MMA and train a little bit but my back, hips are fcked up 😓😩😭 I even had a picture of a ninja emblem I bought somewhere thinking I was a ninja myself omg childhood nostalgica, I was so happy to think I was a ninja. That s what they never can take away our memories as a kid and it felt all so real even training on myself thinking I was a ninja lol 😌
He made some awesome movies but not enough I was surprised to see how little he actually made when I purchased some I looked for more but there wasn't any
I believe he can still act more movies....I know that he retired and the last movie that they called him out of retirement do was the bad guy in ninja assassin.... but he can still do some more.
There's some meet (or fight) between Sho kosugi with yasuaky kurata, Steven Seagal, Bolo Yeung, Jean Claude Van Dame, Jack Chan, Sammo p Hung, Bruce Lee, Jet Li & others famous? If have it, can you show us?
Man, Sho Kosugi was such an inspiring actor. Till today, whenever I hear the word Ninja he always comes to mind. Legend.

Sho is the man! He is the REAL ninja/martial artist. Thank you for all you teach us Master Sho...
I loved his movies in the 80s. He was, and still is, such a badass.
Even at so called " advanced age" he is still the best in my book. That's what a lifetime of training the right way will get you. Staying healthy.
I could watch Sho's films all day...
He is legend when I was in kid

One of the best and OG! Indeed a master in my own opinion 🍺
Special mention that he also provided choreography in the game, Tenchu Stealth Assassins, in particular, the character Rikimaru.
I did NOT know he was in Blind Fury. I'm gonna have to watch that again.
