Thanks for the video and skilled picking, Ash. 🙂👍 As for which is the best, 🤷♂️. I've never knowingly seen a Ruko in the flesh, let alone picked one, so any Ruko would be special to me. 😀
Thanks, Ash. Great lock. Kudos to Ruko for their security pins and setup. Seems like in the overall picture not that many locks use non-standard security pin designs (vs. the 'off-the-shelf' spools etc.) or even go to the lengths of adding undercuts. (Still marvelling about how they would machine those in there though.)
The key is 10+ years old and the cylinder is the inside part of a double cylinder install. The pins indicate everything is factory. So about the time where we tell people to get a service and a possible pin replace. so this is the magic moment between gin and brass and barrel and steel, All 6 pin cores have undercut and the 4 drill protect inserts. There are also 3 inserts in the bible to protect the drivers
Truly fascinating. I now to your superior picking sir. I've got a green and a blue ruko in my collection. Opened the green once and nothing on the blue.
Oh yeah the Lunatic is one of my favorites profiles also. Great open for that fantastic Ruko 🔓. That lock is awesome! Take care and thanks for sharing 👍🏼.
Lunatic for the win, I love the lunatic and it has got me through many locks I could not open with any other pick. Nice job on the pick and gut. Great video. Take care M8 and be well. 👍🙂🔐
I know that feeling of wondering what's inside your Rukos. Sadly I don't yet know the feeling of opening them. I have another frustration too when it comes to Rukos & ASSAs, in that I don't know which model I have, and also who I should say is the maker. That's because I have an example where the body is etched ASSA but the key states Ruko. As one of my compulsions is correct numbering/naming/cataloguing, this adds a whole extra layer of frustration.
Well done Ash! I never seen "gin bottle" pins before, but absolutely love the way they interact with the undercut. With my current skill levels, I would never get into that.
Amazing job as always! I do love the under cuts and the gin bottle pins. I am planning on making a custom nepherite jade handle for my lunatic. Great pick for sure. Take care . Cheers!
Good work! I'm trying to learn the vagaries of picking security pins, but not a lot of good teachers out there. Maybe you could do some videos on just picking security pins??
Ok, the reveal of those gins really surprised me. I'm also wondering why the gins did not interact with the undercuts properly. Normally you need to manually counter rotate, to pick those gins out of their counter milling
Why are there gaps in the front of that lock? Those pins look really great - but how do they do the undercut? Lovely looking lock again thanks for sharing.
If I remember correctly, so that you can mount it from either side of the door. And that was wrong. It's for mounting up against a regular oval cylinder - for key opening on both sides of the door.
I've recently found out about gin pins and would love to try em out. Where do you source all of your locks? I never have any luck finding anything like this.
The lunatic. It's very different from an offset half diamond if you saw them side by side. Has more reach (kind of a long goose neck) with a smaller tip. I've found it difficult to maneuver in the pad locks I've tried it in.
This is the best version of the Ruko IMO. DO you agree? 🤔🔐
Thanks for the video and skilled picking, Ash. 🙂👍
As for which is the best, 🤷♂️. I've never knowingly seen a Ruko in the flesh, let alone picked one, so any Ruko would be special to me. 😀
Worth trying to get hold of one if you can

Very nicely picked and super quick too, no wonder you sounded pleased.
Very nice Ruko with great security features.
I love them!!

That's a well designed secure lock.
@@roysammons2445 it is the absolute minimum I would install on any door or even letterbox
Thanks for the info Rube. I do love this version
All my favorite things in one video 😀
Ruko Oval , Gin bottles, and a fresh Lunatic 😅
Well done!!!!!
🐾🐈⬛🐈🐾🇬🇧🍻👏👏👏👏👏

She does look quite pretty. Nice work , great vid.

I get the feeling Ruko hates lock pickers! 🤣 well done Ash, thanks for sharing, as always 👍👍
Or are they treating us?
@@LockNoob better way to look at it! 👍
Truly fascinating. I now to your superior picking sir. I've got a green and a blue ruko in my collection. Opened the green once and nothing on the blue.
They can be horrible!
You got to love a Ruko, just quality .Ive got some old ones and they were well before there time security wise. Nicely picked Ash.. 👍
Thanks 😊
I have no experience with Ruko's so cannot judge. I appreciate the undercuts and gin bottle spools though. Great picking!
Thanks 🙏
Oh yeah the Lunatic is one of my favorites profiles also. Great open for that fantastic Ruko 🔓. That lock is awesome! Take care and thanks for sharing 👍🏼.
Thanks 😊
Beautiful lock with beautiful pins
Thanks 🙏
Very nicely picked Mate. I love the pins that are in it. Great job
Thanks 🙏
Dang! Way to make this brown belt level lock look easy! Amazing picking, and cool video 😃👍
Thanks 🙏
Lunatic for the win, I love the lunatic and it has got me through many locks I could not open with any other pick. Nice job on the pick and gut. Great video. Take care M8 and be well. 👍🙂🔐
Best or not I can't judge since I've only seen them on TH-cam, but they do look interesting and fun!!
have a great day
Thanks, definitely one to try!
I like those bottle pins. I tend to be heavy on the tension so it would be a challenge for me
I dunno… I think if you get a good bitting they can be easier
What an awesome Ruko I would love to see the contents of your naughty bucket 👍🏻
So. Many. Locks lol.

Never say never! But yeah, such a great combo
Nice internal Scandinavian, great picking
Thanks 😊
Nice, I managed to find a ruko on ebay but was disappointed to find assa barrels. I would have preferred these, the search continues.
It’s a bit of a lottery sadly
Amazing job as always! I do love the under cuts and the gin bottle pins. I am planning on making a custom nepherite jade handle for my lunatic. Great pick for sure. Take care . Cheers!
Sound lovely!
Cool lock. Good job!
Thanks 🙏
Very nice ruko Ash my friend I have a couple of none branded 👍👊🇬🇧😎🤟😊
Thanks Leon

My guess is the milling is not that deep, making the gins feel like a serrated spool. It’s not like in the Assa 700
great video lock noob! just wanted to thank you for showing me the monkey paw and gut wrench. they are in my toolbox from sparrows!👍👍🔑😎
Awesome!!!

See rune international 's comment.
I have no idea how ruko make the undercuts, but if I was making it, I would use a tiny router bit with a rotary tool(dremel).
I've recently found out about gin pins and would love to try em out.
Where do you source all of your locks? I never have any luck finding anything like this.
Trades with other lock pickers and eBay
Do you know of any U.S. locks that do gin bottles? I'm ready to try something other than spools, serrated and mushroom pins.
As far as I know, only Ruko do gin bottles
You are half way to being a locksmith in Iceland if you can master ASSA.
With locks - like gin - not all brands are equal.
Indeed sir
What did you call that sparrows pick?
I just call that one an offset half diamond.

@@kstogie thanx. ..I'll hafta visit sparrows and have a better look at it.
As K stogie said, similar, but very different when you use it
An eccentric English cat that loves gin bottles....stereotype?🤔
Hope your thumb is okay!
It’s fine now. Secret is I filmed this over 6 months ago 🤫🤫🤫
@@LockNoob lololol. Makes perfect sense 👌
