So I used to do glow sticks on strings and I just found this. I'm buying this and starting as soon as possible. There isn't a single one of these moves that I already don't know, except I've done them with two individual strings. This is going to be so fun! The first move is actually called a 3 beat weave, there is a more difficult move called a 5 beat weave, which is slightly different motion with the hands.n
While the patterns can certainly be performed with any rope. The RMT Ropes have a certain weight and feel to them that compliment a Rope Flow Practice better in regards to intensity. They arent to heavy as to make you move slowly and they are not to light that you dont really get a training effect.
@@Weckmethod Thanks for the quick reply - I tried it out with a jump rope and can totally see what you're saying. Jump rope also got twisted up way too easily. Just ordered a premium RMT rope. Cheers!
I just took up jump rope and came across the weck method. Is this only focused on rope moves and tricks or is there any jumping involved? Either way some great stuff to learn. Wondering if I should get one of these ropes as an addition to my jump one.
Maybe try it and see what you think. I have seen a lot of jump rope people do dragon rolls and a double side swing that is something like this, so you might get pretty far. The grip on the rope is definitely different. He's using it less rhythmically than jump rope, in a way that looks like it supports other sports more. I just went out and tried the dragon roll and one of the matadors with my jump rope after these amazing tutorials using my RMT rope, it was really easy on the jump rope too. Personally, I was happy to buy the RMT rope just to support the creativity, the nuances/focus that the Weck method brings to training, and the very well made videos.
@@carlabutler1608 thank you. I forgot I posted this lol. It was two weeks ago and since that time I’ve made some nice progress. Got the dragon roll, matador and boxer skip down. Also ordered a weighted rope set and it’s great.
Just go look at some glow stringing or poi videos and you'll see all the same moves. Who would've thought I was doing great things for my body while I was raving as a kid lol
Why don't you just cut to the chase and skip with the rope? That's an actual real exercise that can incorporate much of the messing around without looking like your play tennis with yourself.
The rotation of the ropes is the point. It teaches your body how to move rotationally and in space that you don't get from just jumping. The hand movements can cross over to other functions.
Nice there are elements that remind of a sinawali from the Filipino Martial Arts.
David Weck has added so much to my life and to the lives of my clients. This is a great addition. Thanks
You're a great teacher! I understand the underhand matador now. Love this workout too, thank you!
Thank you. Now I got an alternative to jump rope.
Just sent for my rope, can't wait to get started!
FYI - these are labeled wrong as 1 & 2 on the site. Love your instruction.
You are definitely a great instructor. Thank you.
great guy, fantastic sharing
Philemon Rudyard, me,

Hands without rope to see the motion is very helpful!
I got my rope two days ago and I already love it!
Excited to try this when my rope arrives. Thanks for sharing! Subscribed.

Great coaching. Thank you for sharing. Subscribed!
thank you so much for this!
I do all of these plus skip rope at the same time, isn’t that a better work out? 😮
How heavy of a rope do you have?
how much does the rmt rope weigh?
What are the advantages of using the rope over a jump rope?

OK, this is very useful, but I find I'm crossing my wrists when I do the propeller circles for the overhand matador - any advice?
