@@FinaleLines I agree. Benedict Cumberbatch is totally awsome. His soothing voice and ability to narrate different credible characters makes him a number one choice for listening. I hope he goes on and narrates other period stories.
Mr Cumberbatch, thank you for allowing us to enjoy your talents! You are one of my favorite actors. These excellent stories are wonderfully brought to life by you. May you continue in your outstanding carreer. Pengwings!
Taste aren’t a subject for argument between gentlemen. But he has clearly made a new side arise while still maintaining this nervous familiarity to his character ( work ethic. ) Brilliance
The BBC TV series of Holmes with Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman was brilliant. Up there with Rathbone and Brett. I have been a fan of the ultimate detective since I was 10 and have read or watched or listened to everything I could get my hands on and only found one version to not be worth the time.
Absolutely, Benedict Cumberbatch is a powerhouse of talent, isn't he? His ability to bring such distinct and compelling characters to life is truly remarkable. I'm thrilled you enjoyed his narration-his voice adds an unforgettable depth to Sherlock Holmes. If you're into his performances, you might also enjoy some of his other audiobook narrations. The real Conundrum of Coach 13? Gold is incredibly heavy. Each standard gold bar measures just 7" x 3.375" x 1.75" (a little bigger than a pound of butter) and weighs 27.4 lbs. 150 lbs of gold would fit inside an 8" x 12" x 4" box with room to spare. A box that small and heavy would be awkward to lift but it could be passed through any train door or window. I don't think Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would've made this kind of error and he didn't have Wikipedia!
I love the story but Watson appears to be in it incapable of cooking for himself which is really strange considering his character was in the army. Cumberbatch is an awesome actor extremely talented
Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce are, for me, the only two actors that actually portrayed Sherlock and Dr Watson brilliantly.. over the years, there aren't any actors that have come close.. ❤❤
Cumberbatch tailors his voice for each role. For Sherlock, he focuses on the character's nuances, which might seem different from his deeper-toned performances. 🕵♂
Should be watson narrating sherlock stories so good old watsis name from the office and fargo episode 1 would have been better. Some benedicto Cumberland
That's really frustrating! Ads can disrupt the flow, especially when they pop up so early. We will learn better placement of ads, perhaps during natural pauses or chapter breaks to enhance the listening experience. Hopefully, the stellar narration by Benedict Cumberbatch still keeps you hooked! 🕵♂✨
You do understand what the primary role of an ‘actor’ is? Right? And there’s the thing called ‘The Internet’ … you could spend all of 20 seconds to, you know, look it up!?! .. And discover, to your immense surprise no doubt, all the evidence you need to see that indeed Benedict Cumberbatch was commissioned to use his acting talents to do an audio book. Shocking I know .. an actor .. ACTING?!?!
And then there are those who think that Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce were THE quintessential Holmes and Watson and found Brett's interpretation to be too unbelievable for Victorians since their lives were so closely scripted in every way. Comes now Benedict Cumberbatch with dulcet tones to soothe the ragged sensibilities at day's end. Take the best and leave the rest as you see fit. 😊
First, I loved Basil Rathbone ( except for the WWII films he had to make). Then I fell in love with Jeremy Brett. Now it’s Benedict. No one today is better as Sherlock. So glad he doesn’t read as fast as his speech Sherlock films though😳. lol
Jeremiah 29:12-13 Then ye shall call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. For anyone who truly wants to know God and have eternal life, all you have to do is seek him with all your heart and ask Jesus to please forgive your sins and to come into your heart. Jesus loves you so much and gave his life so we can be saved. We are all sinners and will be judged for our sins, and only the blood of Jesus Christ can take away your sins. Please don’t give up the free gift of eternal life without seeking God with all your heart first, because Judgement and hell are very real. Anyone who seeks God with a genuine heart, will be led to Jesus Christ, and you will soon know how real he is. God bless. ❤🙏🕊

Benedict Cumberbatch a great reading voice
My brother goes with Basil Rathbone…tho I grew up watching him I do love Brett’s Holmes. And not a middle minded Watson as well. Excellent!

Benedict. Khan, Holmes, Strange. I think the guy did a splendid job on all 3.

Which character did he play in that brilliant spy film he starred in?? It was a brilliant film, he made it what it was. ❤
Clive Merrison and Andrew Sachs in the BBC audioplays by Bert Cooles are the best Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson I‘ve ever heard.
This new Sherlock has a great writer and reader. But there's only one and I'm on my 3rd round. Hope there's more new SH. somewhere? 🙏

Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce.
Basil Rathbone, yes. But the Nigel Bruce version turned Watson into a dote ring old fool which he was definitely not in the original stories.

Ευχαριστώ,κυριε Cumberbatch!
This is about the writer and his gift of description.
Excellent job!
Nope. That IS Cumberbach. But the writer isn't AC Doyle. These are by Taylor a journalist who has written Sherlock Holmes stories for fun
No way is this Cumberbatch. If you want to hear an amazing voice look up Chyrosan, he reviews computer keyboards on YT. Unreal voice 🥰🥰🥰
Best Sherlock since Basil Rathbone
Good voice. BUT the third story, the real Sherlock will never confess to anyone he doesn’t know who the murderer is. Never
I love the story but Watson appears to be in it incapable of cooking for himself which is really strange considering his character was in the army. Cumberbatch is an awesome actor extremely talented
If not written by A.C. Doyle it is not Sherlock Holmes!

So you hated Brett? And cumberbatch? They didn't come close ? What a crazy opinion
Read the original series by AC Doyle and use whatever imagination you possess to create the voices in your mind. 👁

Both. A great narrator is needed for a great writer in audiobooks.
