I remember being in middle school when Anchorman came out, every kid was obsessed with. We were at that age where a lot of the stuff would go over our heads. I remember me and my buddies practicing the song the way they sang it in this scene and getting looks of confusion and concern from adults, we had little to no idea how sexual the song was.
'Afternoon Delight' from "Anchorman" was a big bag of awesome perfection & is arguably top 5 spontaneous singing #'s ever, in my opinion. Also, "Nacho Llbre" is so underrated, it's a tragedy. It's truly hilarious.
If your are going to put the song title up at least put up the correct video clip with that song in it. I know it was an honorable mention, but it does deserve the correction.
Cant believe they didn't include the Pippin (aka Peregrin Took) song from Return Of The King . Talk about unexpected singing moments , a beautiful folk song in the middle of a battle scene that actually works . Amazing
TheHauntedMansionFan12345 Talking about movie audiences in general. Many who would have been too lazy or not cared enough to read the Hobbit beforehand.
shane55pwnt Actually, being the books were from JRR Tolkien ad had been adapted to be in movies before the LoTR Live Action movies, i woul think that ost of the audiences would have read the books, or at least a good perceentage

I said it out loud. You probably did too. For those of us who feel something in that moment of the story, the affect was there, even without saying the words.
They always seem to have honorable mentions that are better than the ones in the list. I thought the one in Young Frankenstein should have been in the list at least, if not #1. Bohemian Rhapsody was a huge deal, though, so I do think it's placed right.
I just watched Stepbrothers and thought the aria sung by Will Ferrell near the end was totally unexpected and incredibly well done. I found it hard to believe that he really sang it (and John C. Reilly actually played the drums on it; actually only the very end of his drumming was impressive).
the sweetest thing should have at least got an honorable mention, that song straight up blindsides you when they all start singing it in the restaurant
+ChokoboLP thanks for this comment , now i dont have to make the same one, but that is one of my favorite scenes in Almost Famous so ill let it slide this time.
In "Beer for my Horses", Rodney Carrington sing "Shout" in a rest stop bathroom with strangers. One of my favorite, partly for the song/singing, and partly for the facial expressions Rodney makes.
Wrong version of "Mockingbird" in the honorable mentions; should have been the one from "National Lampoon's Vacation". But nothing in this category beats "Babysitting Blues" from "Adventures in Babysitting". Not even "Picking Out a Thermos" from "The Jerk".
First song I thought about was Babysitting Blues as well. That scene always stands out for me even 20 years later. Im kinda surprised that didnt even make the list.
There is a video where this whole bridal party re-enacted that scene from My Best Friend's wedding at their wedding complete with crab claws...it is so good. The original was one of my favorites, but every time I see it, I'm like, if people really broke out in song like that, why aren't the people in the background taking notice in the beginning? Like is that so normal at this restaurant for visitors to just sing, that no one even looks up?
What a shame that the Day-o scene from Beetlejuice doesn't quite meet the criteria as it was a lip sync , because that was what made the movie worth seeing. Hilarious.
Lol..Rosie from point Break...Beecher from OZ...Chet/weird science tv series..as well in movie Shaft(remake)..Lee Tergesen in the backseat singing with Michael DeLuise/joey penhall of 21 jump street/young brother of Doug penhall/Peter DeLuise..gets me every time..
Really good list. Thought maybe Jumper from Yes Man might’ve made at least an honorable mention but I can’t really dispute anything else put on there. Love this channel!!
So... the introduction mentions that lip synced songs aren't included in the list, yet Michael J Fox is included - who is clearly lip syncing to something that isn't his voice.
I think they meant the character has to be singing as in marty mcfly was "singing" rather that chuck berry playing in the background and marty "pretending" to sing if you know what i mean.
this is not what they meant. Michael J Fox lip sync in real life, but Marty Mc Fly don't, when they said no lip syncing, it was about the characters lip siycing in the movie
I don’t think anyone expected “Take Me Home, Country Roads” to be in or to be sung as well as it was in Kingsmen 2
I'm still not over that
I live that version. He’s got such a smooth voice.

Lip sync not included.
blackclover2119 The song was playing in the background, but Terry Crews was really singing it.
Paul12169, and what an epic moment that was.
Pippin in Return of the King.

+Pasan Etternavn I don't think anyone expected "That's what Bilbo Baggins hates" in the Hobbit either. But yeah, I suppose that was the better moment.
And it was beautiful
+shane55pwnt Well, if you read the book, you knew it could/should be coming. (The Hobbit song)

Considering they were at a party and the skeleton band just got done singing it, it wasnt that unexpected.
It’s a Disney Movie with Bette Midler.... of course they’re gonna sing eventually
That was great.I love that song.
Suge Avery singing "Speak Lord" at the end of the Color Purple will always be the ultimate musical moment!

Ahem...Scotty Doesn't Know from Eurotrip...
I was thinking of that same movie but rather the Morning Train moment at the Machester United bar.
Battle Of Trenton
Yes, it was a hard choice for me...but Matt Damon with a tongue-stud won the battle for me ;)
There's a band... it's hard to be unexpected when there's a band :D
Agreed being I think the scene in superbad was lifted from the euro trip scene.
emmamaria YES!!
I clicked strictly for the Anchorman one.
These Eyes scene from Superbad is one of the best. Jimmy's brother does indeed have a great singing voice.

"I don't wanna miss a thing" Aerosmith?
Puttin' on the Ritz should be a lot more than just a honorable mention. Oh sorry, I meant Puttin' on the RIIIITTTZZ!
I was reminded of Put a Little Love in your Heart in Scrooged.
"I will survive" prison scene from The Replacements is easily one of the top singing moments in a movie.
At least should have had an honorable mention for Anyone Else But You at the end of Juno. Such a heartwarming and perfect ending for the movie.
Bohemian Rhapsody has never been the same since ....Everybody head bangs to that bit now ....I know I have !
How is "I Feel Pretty" from Anger Management not part of this list? One of the funniest stop and sing a song moments in any movie

The honorable mention says "Baby it's cold outside-Elf" but the scene they use is Santa Clause is coming to town.
"I say a little prayer for you" should be #2. Memorable and iconic ❤️

the sweetest thing should have at least got an honorable mention, that song straight up blindsides you when they all start singing it in the restaurant
How is the Almost Famous one unexpected? It's a movie about musicians, you would expect them to sing at some point, wouldn't you?
Not exactly. There musicians not singers.
Exactly, they don't found ferris but they count a movie literally about music.
+ChokoboLP its just too good of a moment not to have on this list
I was thinking the same thing.
+ChokoboLP thanks for this comment , now i dont have to make the same one, but that is one of my favorite scenes in Almost Famous so ill let it slide this time.
