I'm a 63 year old male, and the older I get, the more aware of womens wisdom I've become. She figured this song out miles ahead of you my friend, you got a good one!
Poor Andrei, you were really shocked when the penny dropped. 🥺 The writer assumed her written expressions of love were for him, but they were for someone else. 😢
"David Gates and Bread" were on top of the music world in the early 1970s. This man had the voice of an angel. "Everything I Own," was another huge hit. It was a song about the sudden and unexpected death of his father. A beautiful tribute to his dad.
Hi guys from Phoenix, Arizona. I was born and raised the great state of Colorado. When this song and album came out I was 14 yo and was seeing a girl at the time. We both loved this song so I would sing it to her looking into her eyes. I will always remember that!
Omg this song 🎵 is so beautiful, as both of you are . Love ❤️ you both and your reactions. The love ❤️ you both have for each other is so awesome. 👍❤️👍❤️
You should react to Aubrey next. David Gates, the lead singer, is an incredible writer and had one of the most beautiful voices in soft rock. Him and his wife have been married for over 60 years now. I loved your reaction as always ❤️.
I truly appreciate your reactions, your openness, your warmth, and feelings expressed about the songs and subtlely toward each other. You are a treasure to watch and listen to. Thank you,
Bread was a hit machine in the 1st half of the 1970s. They are the epitome of 'soft rock'. I called them 'White Bread' back in the day, but I've grown to appreciate them more with age.
Beautiful song! I grew up listening to the soft rock music of Bread in the 70's & had their albums. Love David Gates voice. He has one of the most soothing & mellow voices. They had so many hits such as "Make It With You", "Everything I Own", "Baby I'm-a Want You", "Lost Without Your Love", "It Don't Matter To Me", "The Guitar Man", "Sweet Surrender", "Aubrey" etc. In 1978, Gates enjoyed success as a solo artist with the hit singles "Goodbye Girl" (from the movie The Goodbye Girl) & "Took The Last Train".
My first date was to a Bread concert when this song came out in 1972...and this story came to fruition just as the song did but we are friends to this day.
1973 The 1st album I bought in college was the best of Bread👌 ❤, it became one of my favorite albums. 1946-1964 the largest generation, it was the after World War 2 baby boom. All of them coming of age in the 60's, 70's and 80's no wonder there was so much great music, 😀 the larger the population the greater the amount of talent, all I know is I loved those times thanks for always reminding me with these great groups😀 Peace✌️ and Love❤️ Gary😊, A lot of us Baby Boomers👶 are your biggest fans❤️
Hello Andre and Dominica . . . . . huge congratulations to you both for reaching 80 thousand subscribers . . . . i have been viewing your channel since long ago when Andre was filming just by himself . . . . . . . having Dominica join you, Andre, made watching your channel so very enjoyable and special !!!!!!!!!! . . . . . . . . Danny in Mississippi
I heard this when I was a kid of 10 years old. I always enjoy the song, but I never paid attention to the story behind the lyrics, until now. But I agree, he loved her enough to let her go. And he wished her well. A good note to end on.
That song was a staple in my life when it came out in 72 or so. Except for the diary it was very like a situation I was in at the time. Wore that record out.
Bread has always been one of my favorite bands. Coming from a Rocker that my top 3 Bands are Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Rush. Honors to Fleetwood Mac and Boston oh and Steely Dan. Also try- Guitar Man Everything I Own Aubrey Make It With You Baby Ima Want You And my favorite, Lost Without Your Love 💕
I found your channel a few days ago and have binged many of the videos you’ve made of my favourites - like this one. Your depth of feeling, insight and authenticity is infectious. Thank you for sharing. I’d love you to review Supertramp’s “Hide in your Shell” some day - Ian UK
A very good easy listening group started in 1970. Lead Dave Gates had a great voice. Many very good songs, only one was different, not easy listening. Actually I saw them in a gym in 71 , very good concert in Pennsylvania Also only $5.00 a ticket😊, it's true.
David Gates wrote some of the most beautiful soft rock songs and melodies not only of the 1970s but of all time. Several great songs are mentioned in the comments here, but the entire Best of Bread album is fantastic.
Very shocking the first time you hear it and quite sad. Many have had this sort of experience if not to the point of marriage, but just being interested in someone and the other person either unaware or interest in someone else. Great twist of a song. David Gates is a wonderful singer.
I had this sort of situation happen to me once. She was probably the second or third best -looking girl in the school (5th grade) and I saw her initials and mine on one of her books. I was in heaven for a while, but something was wrong in the days following, why had I not seen her act any differently around me than before (which most certainly wasn't anything special at all)? Odd she would be so outward writing initials on a book, yet wouldn't notice me at all. Maybe there were 600 kids at that school, and there was only one other kid that had my initials as well, and it was that kid she wrote down on her book, and I knew this for certain because despite him being a separate branch of 5th graders than she and I were, I had seen them together a couple of times. Also in his class was a girl which was model material, already in the 5th grade. She blew away all the other girls, and I saw her only very briefly in recess once. Decades later I told my mother of this legendary girl, and I had a class collage of all the headshots of kids in the 5th grade along with the staff. Suspecting very strongly this would happen, I told mother to point out which one she was, and immediately she saw her, immediately, she was that gorgeous. It also so happens that her picture, along with somebody else, shared the perfect two pictures in the collage to be dead center. I suspect the school or photographers did this deliberately, not accidently. Once you saw her picture, you knew exactly she was the gorgeous one without even looking over the others.
This is a new relationship because he doesn't really know her he says it at the reading a diary so she's not going to admit that it's another person she just say oh I don't know what you're talking about and then he figures it out by himself she doesn't show these feelings towards me oh it's someone else period
I encourage you listen to DAVID GATES' masterpiece: "Suite: Clouds, Rain". The composition is divided into three movements. Sublime words and music. At times, the emotion comes close to tears. Goosebumps guaranteed. Thanks.
Hey Guys, you really need to stop giving yourselves a hard time about your English. You both probably speak it as a 2nd., 3rd., or 4th., language, I know many English people, that you would put to shame. I have a little true story for you, the last house I lived in was my family home and I lived there for 63 years. At the end of the road was a corner shop and dairy, called Bedford's. The owner, who I had known since childhood, inherited the shop from his parents and decided to make a few changes. There was a bit of shopfitting, a general clean-up and a new paint job. It was pretty much all done, bar the finishing touches, so a signwriter, was putting the new name up. Very soon after the job was done, we noticed that the signwriter, instead of putting Tom Bedford's Dairy, had instead put Tom Bedford's Diary. It stayed like that for quite a while, only going to show that some English people, struggle with the difference between dairy and diary also. Take care of yourselves and stay safe, Mark from London.
I'm a 63 year old male, and the older I get, the more aware of womens wisdom I've become. She figured this song out miles ahead of you my friend, you got a good one!
Dominika for the win!! 💔💖
🇬🇧 And he still wished her well at the end of it. "Everything I Own" Bread. ❤❤❤
🇬🇧 Love Bread, they have many beautiful songs. My favourite is "Everything I Own". 100% GUARANTEED to make Andrei cry. ❤🎶🎼
Poor Andrei, you were really shocked when the penny dropped. 🥺 The writer assumed her written expressions of love were for him, but they were for someone else. 😢
“Everything I Own” is their BEST, IMHO!!
You called it, sister!! Loveya!

I felt the exactly the same way as you Andrei. Even as I listened to it over and over. I don't know why.
He gets the heartbreak of the story, she laughs when it’s revealed. Brutal.
For any man that has loved and lost, this song hits home. Both of your reactions were superb and sincere. Nice job.

Bread my favorite soft rock group.

And my favorite, Lost Without Your Love 💕
The first time I heard this song, I literally screamed "NO!!" in my car when he got to the last verse.😂
A great song by a fantastic band with too many hits to mention.
Aww, it's an incredibly sad song ✌️
I’ve watched a few reactions to this and every time the woman works it out before the revelation. 😄😄😄
so beautiful and heartbreaking!

I was hoping he was right but Dominica was RIGHT
I like to listen to this when I’m alone by myself with my thoughts…

Bread and david Gates have many sweet songs.

Artists explore the full spectrum of human emotion and experience, not just happy themes like puppy dogs and butterflies.
"Aubrey" by them is beautiful and heartbreaking. A must listen.
Spoiler alert: I think most of their songs are pretty sad.
Sing a bread song, woman fall ln love..
The Diary is referring to another man, not him. She loves someone else.
People dated a lot back in the day, were a couple, and broke up many times. People don’t do that anymore. It can be hard but you get over it.
Sweet Surrender is a good Bread song along with all of the others mentioned.

At least the singer took the disappointment well. 😏
You can’t pause this one… hear it all. 😀
You would like The Goodbye Girl which was David Gates solo
Tnx.. try their other songs like CLOUDS. GUITAR MAN and Goodbye girl. Tnx
Don't be sad.
David Gates is still married to his first love, his girlfriend when he was an adolescent.
You should check out EVERYTHING I OWN and Baby I'm a want you.

Not my favorite Bread song. Thank you for your reaction as always!
Such a sad song but David Gates wrote another winner
Women get it.
Wishing the best for your ex only happens in songs. 😂
