You're awesome Stewart keep doing what you're doing, you bring considerable warmth to my days. And lol "normies don't know about it and don't care about it" that's so funny it makes me realize how deep I am in all this bs!
Before winning any war you need to listen to Manowar :P Jokes aside, I agree, lower your standards in terms of budget and production value and seek out art that is made by admirable and dedicated artists.
In the case of comics, which is dying, at least mainsteam comics. Well manga is cheaper and in many cases, has better art as well. Story often better than many comics these days. So sticking with comics is more costly, when manga is cheaper.
Hey David, I just gotta say I am really impressed by your overall knowledge of many topics, and the insights that you pull from them. I'm studying law myself right now and I think it's a great point you made about how the philosophy behind the laws protecting artistic expression are now basically warped from whatever they were originally intended as. You make a lot of really great points but that one stuck out to me. Really appreciate the work you do and please keep it up!
I actually think that the best outcome for the culture war is for no one to win, not even "our side". Because many on "our side" want a very specific set of outcomes, and may double down on these outcomes. For example, most Comicsgate, especially the 40-somethings of the movement, want comics to be dominated by the superhero genre. Most people below 25 who want to write in comics (such as myself) don't want to write superheroes; we're much more entranced by high fantasy and hard sci-fi, and our best new IPs would come either from that genre or by way of an homage to anime and manga. If we were forced to write superheroes to get by, we'd literally just never try, because we have no interest in that (hence one big, unspoken reason why why superhero comic sales are dwindling, whilst any cross-genre work like Immortal Hulk - basically a horror book - is a breakout success!). So by doubling down on superheroes, they literally are alienating young blood from their budding industry. Superhero fatigue is real, folks. See. The problem isn't JUST that the SJWs reject the past. They also reject the evolution of media, by way of rejecting media itself. And i do feel like the "side" of the culture war we're on oft rejects genre evolution as well, albeit the good kind; we've all been so heavily exposed to the bad kind and thus get the wrong idea that it's ALL the bad kind, therefore prevent ourselves from trying to do it the right way as a result, therefore setting ourselves up for failure in the long run. And I do think it's something that we shouldn't allow to consume us, and I also think that if we win the culture war it WILL consume us. So, to me, the best outcome is neither side winning; neither gets control; the control is put back in the hands of the general public, the fans, the people you oft refer to as "Normies". Not the socially obsessed weirdos who want to destroy everything we love, not the vocal minority of superfans we collectively are part of, but the normal people - ALL people. That's what I want to see come about.
@Star Trek Theory what relevance does this have to my comment? Can you place clarify your intentions? I believe you are making a point about superheroes (probably trying to defend superheroes being the literal only popular genre right now, a status quo which rejects comics history as pulp sci-fi, high fantasy and horror collectively used to compete with superheroes before the Satanic Panic). But I cannot tell exactly what it is therefore I cannot adequately respond.
Fair to point out differences on "our side", but I think the Woke brigade is so threatening because they want to remake society and enforce their order on others. There are definitely crazies on our side, but it's easier for us all to get along if we don't feel the need to control each other.
@henhouse10000 Meanwhile, Israel is the biggest lobby in the US. For some strange reason, supporting Israel is a part of the left and the right. You can't vote for someone who doesn't support Israel.
I really enjoy discussion on this topic. I’d say that complaining is still a good strategy because it generates attention on the issue and people who become interested will investigate further.
Just snagged Crown of Sight and your Needle Ash series on Kindle because you are right: books matter. If we want to swing the culture back to a more sane place, money talks and complaining walks. Support content creators with different outlooks and put your money where your mouth is. I’ll leave a review whether I like them or not. Appreciate your channel.
Even thought I don't have kids I think they are awesome. Its so much fun watching a toddler see new things everyday you've long since taken for granted. Like I taught my friends kid to toss coins into a fountain. He totally dug it.
Totally agree...I would add this...100% of videos we make and share compete with Hollywood. Your video about your kids birthday and my video about my cat sleeping ARE the movies of today. WE are telling our own stories...some of them look like stories that have been told in the past...some of them don't. Explore TH-cam for all the examples you need. The power of storytelling is being decentralized more and more each day. It's only a matter of time before Hollywood is completely dead.
A great indie game for example is Kingdom Come: Deliverance by Warhorse studios, it ticks all the right boxes, if you are a european traditionalist and a history enthusiast!
Man, you`re smart! So much sense and the approach you kinda do not see on youtube often. Watching your vids (or better to say - listening to them) is a pleasure. However, wanted to ask if you ever considered to make an audiobook versions of your writings? It is not as cheap in production, yet such a format would be greatly appreciated by people, who travels alot or have no time to sit and read for different reasons.
It sounds like things are going to turn into a surprisingly real remake of "Star Wars": the indie book-writing rebels against the massive corporate megaliths.
Thank you for giving me more to think about regarding this topic. The culture war is defiantly important and I’m glad to hear a solution as to how to win the culture war, rather than people just complain about Star Wars going away from what George Lucas intended for it to go or how woke Disney is or any of the other things you often hear about, yet offer no real solution to the problem. It’s quite refreshing to hear a solution.
What do you want to win? Aside from all the empty "freedom, individualism, equality" stuff that we inherit from the French Revolution and liberal capitalism, what do you really believe? What are your actual, most essential, visceral ideals?
I'm on the same page as you. I'm tired of people complaining about MarvelStarWarsDisney, etc. They're long gone. It's more important to create new art/culture (if you can) and shift your spending habits to independent creators. Not only that, independent creators need to circle around each other and promote each other, and more importantly, all these commentary channels need to start promoting something other than the mainstream. It's fine to bitch about the mainstream... I guess... but follow it up with a, "go read David Stewart". THIS is what needs to happen. Too many people are hoping for a course correction instead of participating in a genuine counter-culture. I dig your stuff. Cheers.
I stopped watching the movies a long time ago because I lost all my money buying Comics on INDIEGOGO! I am the second backer for JAWBREAKERS: God King! Win the culture war! Back it today!
Funny enough David, I recently started reading books again for fun. *M.D.Cooper* is who I’m reading presently, his _RIKA_ & _Intrepid_ series are highly enjoyable.
I think there's a critical point that was overlooked in this video, namely how/why cultural marxist interests converge with corporate interests. It's an open question as far as I'm concerned, although personally I think it's a mix of a) corporations being out of touch and relying too much on younger SJW creatives, communications people, etc., b) short term benefits of outrage-marketing: free press, endless coverage on youtube and c) corporations seeing long-term utility in intersectionality as a means to divide and conquer.
If Lucas really wanted to change the system, he would've given Star Wars to the fans. I can't even imagine how much things would have changed in entertainment had he done so.
I know I’m going to come off as a shameless promoter, but if anyone is interested, they can also get my two novellas, “Empty Sounds of the Wind” and “The Rains of Godwin Valley.” One of them is a noirish thriller, while the other is a Western. Both can be read within two hours, the same amount of time it takes to watch a movie.

"Stop watching the movies" Or at least watch them with the salty sea air blowing through your hair and the splash of brine against your back, if you catch my meanin'. Arghh, harhaarrrrr...
I second this opinion. I haven't seen a movie now for years since rogue one literally last movie I watched. Most things are just creatively void. Remake but this twist. *BARF* I have been consuming a lot of sci-fi audio books an real history books my two primary interests. There is so much in the sci-fi realm to recommend so many good authors old an new. If you want world building books are were it is at. I will be checking out your new book sir sounds interesting!
Yes thank you for this video. Remember, those bogus "cost to raise a child" figures include a full-ride through college, which is highly unrealistic for the vast majority of people. I worked my way through college with minimal help from my parents and was the better for it.
I also find it rather misanthropic to boil costs of a human life down to money, especially while the benefits remain non-material - not only do they remain non-material, but they remain unexplainable to people who haven't experienced them. Explaining the experience of love to someone is like trying to describe eating ice cream.
@@DVSPressGood points! Children in our post Christian secular Western society are often treated as mere commodities of economic value but sadly nothing more.
Hopefully the literate people saying, "Oh, this is a great story, you have to read it!" Will compel the illiterate to become literate and read it (though ebooks and audiobooks are a thing too, I guess).
Interesting idea that books are the way that the culture war can be won. It sounds about right, especially since no one who has enough money to make as high production value movies as Hollywood is going to fund something. I think those arts that the individual is able to create will have to fight against the cultural monolith that is Hollywood (as it seems it should be just on a poetic level)
Small groups of dedicated fans build the popularity of characters until larger groups of Normies take notice, and flood in as casual fans. The corporate owners of the character sacrifice the small dedicated fans to increase the Normie group. The Normie group is increased by catering to identity politics, in order to bring in in other groups of fans who objected to the original group of fans who built the franchise.
David Stewart: Looking forward, we are only looking at restarting the cycle. Sooner or later the corporations will start buying up the indie titles and perpetuate the situation. In your opinion is that ok because then the corporations will be putting out material we like or should we then evangelize the artists to resist the temptation to "sell out" to the corporation at all and is that a losing battle?

Do you any links to these book publishing websites and software? And do they accept screenplay publishing? I have a Bachelor's in screenwriting and am more knowledgeable in screenplay format. Would like to just get stories published and read. (of course hitting big in Hollywood would be great but just would like to have a platform for stories I write to be read)
Does anyone know a little mermaid movie where she doesn't kill the prince and throws herself off the ship at the end (there's a side silhouette shot where she's falling (possibly after even killing herself with the knife)? I saw it in grade school in the early 80's and i think it was shown to me on a "reel-to-reel" projector and I can't say for sure there was audio. I want to say it looked like "claymation", but I may be misremembering and it may have been some type of normal animation of the time. I could be loking through younger eyes, but it was so tragic and so beautiful... I've never been able to find it, but i'd know it if i saw it.
I remember a similar version. I was just a little kid and I cried like hell watching it. I think it was animation. Just an old cartoon. Disney must have bought and buried it.
Much I agree on, and disagree on - a well thought out video. Being a liberal myself, I appreciate the exchange of ideas and perspectives. And yes, Star Wars Legends rules! :D
Corporate ownership of copyright in perpetuity would lead to a dreadful stagnation of artistic advancement. I bring to mind the numerous variations and adaptation of pre-existing works by composers. It also violates what I would call the spirit of copyright law which on the one hand protects that immediate creator and his immediate offspring to derive income from an original work as well as allowing posterity to enjoy the work after a set period of time.
Overall very good. I have never stopped reading books - especially the genre of hard science fiction - although there have been some moves politically in that field as well re IIRC the Hugos and nebulas. I am also finding it much more difficult to pick up very good SF with a strong science content, but they are out there being self published if you look hard enough. One thing I haven't looked into is the role of postmodernism - especially its emphasis on language and its use. Another way to deal with the marxist postmodernist influence is to actually shine a light on it by being involved in the youtube channels devoted to popular film. Hence I watch Geeks and Gamers and Nerdrotic and others and particularly Grace Randolph's channel Beyond the Trailer. She is beginning to shill for the woke political narrative and I am trying to constantly critique some of her pronouncements regarding the dark triad of diversity, inclusivity and equality in film for purely political reasons. Finally, this channel would do well on Jordan Perterson's new platform ThinkSpot(TS), which launches in August. I hope you consider featuring your channel on it as the PM-Marxist infiltration in popular culture is very very worrying and in-depth discussion of it, as there is here, is what TS is about.
While I agree with some of the points that you make in this video and disagree with a few others (for example, there are way too many elderly people neglected and/or mistreated by their children in my family and circle of acquaintances alone for me to buy into the idea that having children is anything close to a reliable way of having someone to care for you in the future, and the way that the Right often pressures people to have children is as bad as the way the Left sometimes pressures them not to; the two extremes constantly provoke each other into further levels of extremity), there is one point in particular that I don't think quite holds up. Frankly, I don't think that books will defeat media-owned movie and television franchises, any more than ice cream will put the steak industry out of business. Print media and video/film media are two different things. Some people only like one or the other, but most people like both to some degree. A few people such as yourself might be willing to start watching less movies and read more books as a substitute, but most people don't much desire to change the book-to-movie ratio of the media that they enjoy all that much. Books compete with books. Comics compete with comics. Movies compete with movies. The only two mediums that are close enough to each other that one could possibly put the other out of business are movies and television. But print media is too different to make a dent in those mediums. If bad movies and television are to be defeated, it has to be through the creation and promotion of good movies and television. You make the point that books are easier and cheaper to create than movies, but that's only barely the case right now. Customer-grade digital video cameras and CGI technology are getting so cheap that it will soon be possible to make a movie for barely more than it costs to make a book. I've seen independent sci-fi films with shoestring budgets that look nearly as good as some multimillion dollar movies. The CGI program Unreal Engine 4 (designed for creating video games, but also excellent for creating movie CGI) is now free, with people who use it for commercial projects only having to pay Unreal Engine if their project actually sells (and then, they pay a small percentage of their profits, rather than a flat rate), and this will probably be a game-changer, as Unreal Engine can create extremely photorealistic effects on a customer-grade computer with real-time rendering. Add crowdfunding into the mix, and you've got a great recipe for the democratization of the film industry (which is not to say that the legacy media won't try to fight this tooth and nail). The culture war is being fought on multiple fronts (movies, television, books, comics, news media, etc) and has to be fought equally on all of those fronts. Print media alone won't suffice.
True. Arkhaven Comics is producing its first feature-length film based on their Alt-Hero comic book series. They start filming "Rebel's Run" in the state of Georgia this fall. We need alternative, independently-produced films and shows to compete directly with the cultural vandalism of the mainstream television and film industry. We need to support what we like and stop paying the agents of our own destruction. boundingintocomics.com/2019/07/05/vox-day-reveals-first-teaser-trailer-for-rebels-run-based-off-the-alt-hero-comics/
there is nothing extreme in saying that people should have children, its the most normal thing. but if westerners had more children they couldn't reasonably important poor illiterate foreigners as their slave labour.
I think you point to a problem of approach which quite a few good youtubers take. They emphasise the large corporate owned franchises even if they are critical of it, there is a lot of energy put into to criticising Disney Star Wars, and while that made sense when the Force Awakens came out and we say that Star Wars was creatively bankrupt, it doesn't make so much sense now, so many years and bad movies later. A better course is to look elsewhere and find more original and creative work. Is there a belief that there is nowhere else? There is also both the present and the past, don't always look for the next big thing, explore and generate more diverse interest.
This is probably the best video you've made recently. I specially liked the DVS "Phase 2" announcement where you'll use your platform to showcase new talent. That being said, I don't think that "complaining" isn't a part of winning the war. Maybe is a matter of words ant its meaning and Wittgenstein is laughing in his grave, but I feel that "complaining" is a fundamental part of winning the culture war. Normies not only need to be turned to new, non marxist content, they need to be made aware of why pc content sucks and is ultimately bad for them, Country and God. I feel that's what you've been doing, and doing great, with your channel. Maybe you call it evangelizing and not complaining. Maybe you don't call it complaining because you go the extra mile and offer an alternative. Like I said before, this sure is disagreement on a word rather than a disagreement on the "how to" win the culture war. Complaining without producing sure achieves little, but in my opinion, there's still a lot of complaining to do before this is over. Cheers, and expect to keep seeing cool stuff in your channel.
Whats a good place to start looking into books? It's a hard thing to sort out if you're uninitiated. I've always liked HPL, King and post apocalyptic stories (and very often stuff involving kaijus). As well as some fantasy. I have the first book of Stormlight Archives but I'm unsure if it's a good place for one new to this kind of fiction to start,
David, I agreed completely until you said we'd win the culture war with books. Expecting the normies (even evangelized ones) to turn off their TVs and read a book is giving normies waaaay too much credit. I do agree that user-generated content from independent artists/creators on sites like TH-cam, Bandcamp, etc. can have an impact on our culture, but not so much in the book format.
I was about to comment against using Google Documents because it supports Google which is also lending its own bias in the culture war, but then I realized we're using TH-cam which is owned by Google.
@@DVSPress I recently started using Dropbox Paper which works pretty well for what I need. I just hope youtube gets replaced by a less invasive commercial entity soon.
Hey David. I love the channel and find it really insightful. I'm one of those people that love reading books and enjoy them more than the terrible movies that have been produced lately. So, with that in mind what books, video games, etc. would you recommend? I own most of the top 100 fantasy/sci fi books so any other suggestions?
I've been working on a novel based on Germanic/Nordic mythology. It's still in the editing phase. I made a small trailer for it. If you wanna check out the trailer, here is the link: www.bitchute.com/video/rPpFbp9ZwVMt/
Having this attitude is why we could lose. When you’re down, you don’t stop fighting, you don’t give up. That’s when you have to fight the hardest and give it your all. Even if you loose, at least you have it your everything
General audiences have already lost interest in the big franchises that have been co-opted, the core fan audience withholding their money is the death stroke. Star Wars and Star Trek are already going broke.
I happen to think that the current climate of hysterical offence over trivial matter is ridiculous. I agree with your opinion that you need to engage people to make them come around to your point of view and that calling people names never changed their minds about anything. Having said all that I just want to pose a question. Who does it really harm, in any way if the little mermaid is portayed as a black person? Think about it for a minute.
We know they buy books, even if they don't read them, so for these purposes buying good stuff to seem cool is just as good as them actually reading it. We have to teach them what hip actually is.
I think your comment about a corporation seizing control over a cultural artifact ignores that someone made that cultural artifact, George Lucas. He has the rights to sell it or not. It is his creation. Either way, there should be some IP copyright ownership restrictions.
But corporations owning an IP in perpetuity is ridiculous. As you said. Even inventions have limits on their patents. There needs to be new rules surrounding corporate ownership of IP, and a timer set on that ownership.
Absolutely. I would say, perhaps, 25 years from the date of creation for properties held by a corporation or non-person entity (like a trust), and life plus 5 years for individuals (to allow licensees to recover the investment in the event of the untimely death of the creator). Just off the top of my head.
There’s 6 major conglomerates that own most media companies. Monopolization is a natural by product of market competition. Part of this market-centered logic is the high cost of raising a family, as everything, including childcare, must be commoditized to provide sources of profit. Otherwise, the economy shrinks. In semi-feudal subsistence farming, a large family with a large community is strength and wealth. Under capitalism, family becomes expensive liability, especially as relative poverty rises with increasing productivity. It becomes ever easier to achieve a Star Trek like post-scarcity society, so all the while we don’t, we increase our relative poverty, as you bring up with the artificial impoverishment of Africa. More on that later. These are not leftists. These companies aren’t in control by leftists. Liberals and their opportunist capitalist masters chasing trends are not committed to any ideology, except that which maximally valorizes capital. These companions are run by profit motive, and white men aged 18-34 don’t have as much buying power as we used to, and other kinds of people have a little more. These companies are just protecting their bottom line. I am a communist, a Marxist. “Cultural Marxism” is a boogeyman invented to freak people out. The Frankfurt school has had a bigger impact on the anxieties of anticommunists than the actual communist movement. Modern leftism is largely “post-Marxist,” because Marxism is based on what post-structuralists call a “grand narrative,” a class struggle, which post-modernism rejects for individual narratives. In fact, the talk of “narrative” is post-modern talk. “Content creation” too. You’re a writer, artist, videographer, journalist. My ass can create content, brother. You’re better than that. Part of the rejection of Marxism is the rejection of a stage concept of history, seen as being a eurocentric concept of historical development. Us Marxists argue that for all the horrors of colonialism, industrialization, and modern imperialism, there is a progressive thrust that creates technological, legal, and social innovations that lay the basis for further social evolution. For Marxists, culture is of course important. But part of your problem, and this is true for a lot of anticommunists, is you cannot imagine communist revolutions and governments were popular, that the (dis)information on them is as credible as Iraqi WMDs or the dangers of marijuana, and that socialist culture was both organic as well as artificial. When the Czarist government stopped mandating Church attendance for soldiers, 80% of them quit going. The trends associated with socialism were well established by the people who smashed a decrepit, unpopular hereditary monarchical theocracy. This is like the family thing. Reading our criticisms of women marrying for money, bourgeois marriage being glorified prostitution, the cost of childcare making it burdensome rather than joyous to have children, and coming away with us wanting to abolish all families Which is strange when we believe in free universal childcare, healthcare, expansive vacations and parental leave, and other direct subsidies to family life. I could go on, with confusing the siege societies and rapid industrialization of semi feudal societies, which had the same problems that their Western counterparts had during similar periods, indicating we aren’t dealing with problems of socialism or capitalism specifically but problems with rapid social change and the consolidation of power. There is a culture war, but it’s between the wants and desires of the exploited and the exploiters. You can’t tell an exploiter by his or her or them or whatever’s skin color, or accent, or religion. That’s not Marxism. The Black Panthers, and nearly all other Marxist groups I can think of, explicitly rejected ideas common to liberals, anarchists, and post-modern leftists. It seems like you know a little about Marxism, but read more about Marxism from anticommunists than you actually read neutral analysis of primary documents or the documents themselves, when available in whatever languages you speak. I would stop letting dubious ideologues and historical consensus creates by the people who you are railing against control your thinking.
Preach! Love it man. Check out worldclassbullshitters, I think you'd fit right in to the fandom menace. which despite countless articles calling us manbabies; we value myths, stories and legends. Not left or right and not white, Asian, black, Spanish or whatever. We value opinion and respect for history. Everyone should have a voice.
Everytime the topic of copyright law comes up I always just shrug my shoulders. I guess I just dont see what's wrong with corporations owning IP. Do we really need Mickey mouse to be open source? What value does that bring? I'm not going to watch a random person's take on mickey mouse or star wars. I agree with your last point. I'm much more interested in new IPs
I know you probably aren't serious, butYou can read 5 minutes at a time. Also ADHD is usually the result of trying to force yourself (or a kid) to like boring things. Find things you like!
This is a very good video. However you made a point that It's beneficial to have children because you need people to take care of you in your older age. A counterargument to that point would be to live in an assisted living home. I would like for you to go into the various benefits of having children because I think there are more downsides than upsides when having children.
Spend some time in a state-run nursing home. My heart breaks for those people. There are many other benefits to having children, but old age is one of them. It's not just somebody who gives a shit about you when you get old, it's somebody who is looking out for you as your power and competency decline. I'm dealing with this now with parents and grandparents.
No matter how much I complain about my kids being a pain in the butt sometimes, even if I could I’d never go back in time and undo that decision. Having kids is hard work sometimes but it’s overall great.
I generally enjoy and appreciate your analysis, but your comments on the need to have children are, frankly, shockingly egocentric. I would hold that the machine encourages people to have children to control them. Additionally, your belief that children will take care of their parents when they are old is in stark contrast with reality where children dump their parents into state run or poorly funded facilities. Finally, the joy you find in parenthood is, based on all data, relatively idiosyncratic - some find joy in parenthood, others are miserable. I’d argue that there’s a narrative being sold that parenthood and home ownership are essential to a fulfilling life and it is utter bullshit pedaled by those who want you to be saddled with kids and a mortgagee. If you want those things, more power to you, but parenthood is far from something to be pursued by everyone (and the world would be a far better place if fewer people took that path).
Or I could just give it to you directly - Don't make assumptions about kids shitting on their parents unless you have kids or have dealt with aging parents you actually give a shit about. The idea that it's egocentric is ridiculous. The Anti-Child agenda is real. Immediate tells you on one side of its mouth not to have kids. Out the other side of its mouth it complains that people aren't having kids so they need immigration. It's all part of the modern death cult - feminism, MGTOW, "individualism", hedonism, etc. All sides of the same cult of nihilism.
David Stewart I was assuming that a) your question was rhetorical and that b) you are familiar with the fat oxen fallacy. Some parents get great joy from being a parent. Some regret having them. Some are glad not to have them. Some murder their their kids. Nursing homes are filled with parents who thought their kids would take care of them (my wife worked at one for several years). I’m glad you get joy from your kids, but you are the one who just shit on those who do not and your conception that there some conspiracy to convince people not to have them is ludicrous. You have no fucking clue how much non-parents are pressured to have them. Have a good day.
You're talking past me. I'm not talking about joy (there's plenty of that too) but something much bigger. There are things you do in life even if they are hard - like write books, have kids, build... Anything that has meaning. And yes, it is an agenda, not a conspiracy. Also you do realize I wasn't born with children, right? I lived for 33 years without kids. I know plenty about the messaging toward the single folks. Check out of the death cult man!
Ok... I am a "normie". And my question is: Why people care so much about this? You are gonna die someday... culture and society behaviour will keep changing no matter what (for better or for worse)... and it's not like it is the end of the world; we aren't directly heading to a mass murder of billions... I mean... Ariel is black now.. well... okay... I don't like it that much.... but why should I care?!
You're indentifying all the wrong problems. The culture war is not left vs right. It is rich vs poor. Just because you hate PC culture doesn't mean you should be against a fair economy.

@Star Trek Theory Be more clear. Provide more detail. I simply have no idea what you're saying.
@Star Trek Theory still don't understand, sorry. That third comment was the most confusing yet. ^^;
Again, Mr. Stewart, I am extremely impressed with your brilliant analysis of a difficult subject.
Looking forward to seeing all the guests! Hope this channel becomes a hub for the story minded
I really enjoy discussion on this topic. I’d say that complaining is still a good strategy because it generates attention on the issue and people who become interested will investigate further.
Good stuff David. Love your content. Keep it up. I appreciate you continuing to make content for us. Thank you.
"Evangelize the culture" ok time to start pulling my weight around here!
YES
Very excited for that new channel direction. Very interested in hearing your discussions with other deep thinking artists.
So true about books, I fell back in love with books since so many new movies are so disappointing.
It sounds like things are going to turn into a surprisingly real remake of "Star Wars": the indie book-writing rebels against the massive corporate megaliths.
Another perfect analysis. Cant say enough good things about this guy.
Thank you!
Time for a laid back, yet insightful video about our current social situation. Always nice when you post, Mr. Stewart.
Great video. You produce a lot of great content and tbh should have far more subscribers.
What do you want to win? Aside from all the empty "freedom, individualism, equality" stuff that we inherit from the French Revolution and liberal capitalism, what do you really believe? What are your actual, most essential, visceral ideals?
Great video, Mr Stewart (and great advice) . Keep up the great work.
Cyberfrog Blood Honey baby!
I think I've said that before.
But billions of dollars is lots of money that you can do other good things with too.
Great content. Keep going. Hard too find channel with value now.

You're an excellent content creator.
"Stop watching the movies"
Or at least watch them with the salty sea air blowing through your hair and the splash of brine against your back, if you catch my meanin'.
The problem with saying that books are our way to win is that people are getting more and more illiterate.
Hopefully the literate people saying, "Oh, this is a great story, you have to read it!" Will compel the illiterate to become literate and read it (though ebooks and audiobooks are a thing too, I guess).
Well, you certainly don't become more literate by not reading...
11:55 - 12:27 "and you can too!" i already feel better.
Best way to win the culture war: Make more culture! Animate films, write music, publish books. I also don't give money to Disney or Hollywood Land.
Well said!
12:00 I think making them as Audiobooks is a very vital step
"When I painted a Christ-child, you threw me in prison; now if I show him grown up you will do worse to me." - Leonardo da Vinci on the allegations he got hit with in his 20's.
There is an anime - can't remember the exact title, but she did throw herself off the ship. More true to Anderson's tale.
A lot of IP will start to expire in the next few years, starting with Mickey Mouse, Flash Gordon, Oz books will continue to go, etc.
Normies do not care for niche content, it is "too weird". Besides, if it's not popular, it must be bad, right??
We need to support what we like and stop paying the agents of our own destruction.

there is nothing extreme in saying that people should have children, its the most normal thing. but if westerners had more children they couldn't reasonably important poor illiterate foreigners as their slave labour.
Please read Vladimir Voinovich "The Life and Extraordinary Adventures of Private Ivan Chonkin".
I do not like reading books digitally. I prefer not looking at a screen all the time.
Normies don't know they normal.
Do your books have images in them and who is your favorite character that you created?
Whats a good place to start looking into books? It's a hard thing to sort out if you're uninitiated. I've always liked HPL, King and post apocalyptic stories (and very often stuff involving kaijus). As well as some fantasy. I have the first book of Stormlight Archives but I'm unsure if it's a good place for one new to this kind of fiction to start,
Here's a video I did on fantasy. Other genres I haven't really done yet. th-cam.com/video/lNGMwYdqXBo/w-d-xo.html
Your own interests are never a bad place to start.
Write it in open office then!

@@MrRandomstuff9 give it you're all ? dont give me that shit. Have you given it your all ? what have you done besides talking on the internet ?
Have you thought of doing a video comparing the culture war with Don Quixote?
General audiences have already lost interest in the big franchises that have been co-opted, the core fan audience withholding their money is the death stroke. Star Wars and Star Trek are already going broke.
I happen to think that the current climate of hysterical offence over trivial matter is ridiculous. I agree with your opinion that you need to engage people to make them come around to your point of view and that calling people names never changed their minds about anything. Having said all that I just want to pose a question. Who does it really harm, in any way if the little mermaid is portayed as a black person? Think about it for a minute.
Normies don't read. If they did, they would already have read 1984 and Harrison Bergeron.
We know they buy books, even if they don't read them, so for these purposes buying good stuff to seem cool is just as good as them actually reading it.
We have to teach them what hip actually is.
@@DVSPress - I definitely agree on that last point.
your voice sounds exactly like deadlyslob...are you his brother?
I think your comment about a corporation seizing control over a cultural artifact ignores that someone made that cultural artifact, George Lucas.
He has the rights to sell it or not. It is his creation. Either way, there should be some IP copyright ownership restrictions.
Very good point
But corporations owning an IP in perpetuity is ridiculous. As you said. Even inventions have limits on their patents. There needs to be new rules surrounding corporate ownership of IP, and a timer set on that ownership.
Absolutely. I would say, perhaps, 25 years from the date of creation for properties held by a corporation or non-person entity (like a trust), and life plus 5 years for individuals (to allow licensees to recover the investment in the event of the untimely death of the creator). Just off the top of my head.
Free markets and voluntarism at work. I like it.
Hw wull buks wirc ef u cand red gid?
You lost me when you equated corporations jumping on the political correctness bandwagon with leftists.
Reading our criticisms of women marrying for money, bourgeois marriage being glorified prostitution, the cost of childcare making it burdensome rather than joyous to have children, and coming away with us wanting to abolish all families
Which is strange when we believe in free universal childcare, healthcare, expansive vacations and parental leave, and other direct subsidies to family life.
Create art for it to be corrupted in the future
I would agree with you if most normies liked to read. Most people nowadays hate reading even many that are quite intelligent.

This is a very good video. However you made a point that It's beneficial to have children because you need people to take care of you in your older age. A counterargument to that point would be to live in an assisted living home. I would like for you to go into the various benefits of having children because I think there are more downsides than upsides when having children.
Depending on your value judgements
Spend some time in a state-run nursing home. My heart breaks for those people.
There are many other benefits to having children, but old age is one of them. It's not just somebody who gives a shit about you when you get old, it's somebody who is looking out for you as your power and competency decline. I'm dealing with this now with parents and grandparents.
No matter how much I complain about my kids being a pain in the butt sometimes, even if I could I’d never go back in time and undo that decision. Having kids is hard work sometimes but it’s overall great.
I have two sons and, after 17 years of parenthood, I'm still not aware of any downside.
Look out David. You don't want to be called a racist Nazi don't you? ;)
It's extremism, not so much leftism. Propaganda started with the Nazis, after all.
#normiesruineverything 😣
Read books and watch anime (no hentai. You know who you are!).
How many kids do you have?
