That’s a great way for them in between cleanings. I’m from Iowa and I do some washing and detailing on RV’s in the off season at a park N of Tampa. I really recommend having a good full detail done at least once a year. My washes include the roof awnings and sides. I have seen many clean the roofs with high pressure which is a BIG NONO! Everything should be washed with very low pressure and some elbow grease. Most of my customers are elderly people and they never go on their roof. So when I wash their RV I always do a roof inspection for them for free. I check for any damage or any potential problems that may arise, such as how the dicor around vents, pipes, and skylights look. I’ll take photos to show the customer what’s going on. I’m probably one of the very few that does this but the most important part of the RV is the roof. I also recommend having your roof rubber membrane roof conditioned after it has been cleaned. So I know how you said it’s a little expensive having the detail crew come out and clean it but it may save you $ in the long run by having someone on the roof cleaning and checking for potential problems in the future. Like your channel by the way!
It's up to $68 😏 Inflation is hitting everything. I really appreciate all of your wisdom. There's no way I could do this without TH-cam and channels like yours!! I love you guys!!
Thank you for this content. This is an important process we all need to do our best at. I have struggled with our new trailer. Backing into car washes that are tall you name it. Your experiences and advise is very helpful. My pickup camper sold after 24 years well because I took care of it. Our new trailer will get the same care but is sometimes harder to care for. Thanks for the tips. Take care.
I've had great success cleaning love bugs with baby shampoo. I only use it on the front facia and mirrors and it makes for easy removal. 18 years of Florida living taught me that!
I've used the Blue Beacon truck washes. Typically stopping at the last one near my destination. They're great and surprisingly affordable. As for the Wash Wax All, we use that at work for keeping our helicopters looking good. Among other things, it allows us to wash them in the heated hangar, instead of a wet wash outside in the cold. And you can just do the sections that need it.
We were introduced to this at a Passport America rally in 2015. Have used it since and like yall said it works on everything. Happy Trails folks, by the way if you ever get to the Tetons plz stop in and say hello at GVCG. We are in Loop E.
For the dryer sheet use, use them after you have used them in the dryer. Gunk is gone. Sprayway Glass Cleaner and a microfiber cloth works really well as a "dry" wash.
Thank you for your video regarding truck washes. I have a 45 ft Entegra anthem Diesel Pusher and I was not sure about truck washes until I just watched your video. I will now check out the blue beacons when I'm on the road. I will also stay away from Mom and Pop truck washes after seeing what they did to your RV.... Thank you guys for what you do as a fellow rver we appreciate it!
Love the info in this video. It was funny hearing about the live bugs. When I was owner operator, Louisiana completely drained the swamp that you go across on I12 in 2003 I believe. You literally had to stop on either end of the bridge and clean your grill and windshield as the truck started running hot. My red truck turned black with love bugs. Safe travels and keep the vids coming.
I second the wash and wax kit. But I do think that the quick extend retract function of the pole can’t be overstated. I looked all over for a pole that worked as well and couldn’t find one. It gets tiresome loosing and tightening a collar on most extendable poles. We have had our kit for over a year and it still works great. High quality set up! Great video
An acid wash works great, but I would only use it on the front of the truck, and the nose front of the trailer. The secret is to not just spray it on and wash it off after using a brush. I do smaller sections, scrub, and rinse. Leave it on for 15 minutes and your paint will look oxidized. We used it in the Bakken and the Class 8's would come in covered in oil from all of the big engines running while fracturing. The stuff we used came from a chemical manufacturer in Utah, and the oil would come right off.
I kept waiting on the acid joke and then when she was trying to get you to say “extend” all I could think of was the game show $10,000 pyramid 😂🤣😂 We love you guys ! We learn so much from watching you. Keep it real and keep it honest ! Catcha down the road !!
As a long long time professional in paint restoration and correction $400 is a bargain basement steal!! When I do this work I'm a perfectionists the paint is show car flawless but I understand this was not a requirement for you. Still had you called me for a job like this I would have been close to $2500. What that guy did for $400 was great for you but he earned less than $200 a day after product cost and helper cost. My 16 year old niece charges $400 just to wash, dry, clean windows and shine the tires and she's got all the work she can handle.
I used two different Blue Beacon stops, one in Salt Lake City $70 and the other in Denton, Texas $60 (DFW Metro Mess) and was pleased both times. I cannot for the life of me figure what the difference in price was but both wash crews did a fine job. We waited for an hour in line at each stop but didn't mind at all, since we're retired we're not in any particular hurry. Blue Beacon definitely will get my business from now on. I got the RainX both times and I've been pretty happy with the results.
Bugs ‘N All from Amazon is the best thing I’ve found for getting rid of what I call Elfrida bugs. Elfrida is in the middle of the agriculture area in Cochise County and they have bugs made of super glue!
LOL... "Greeeen Acres is the place to be ... Farm livin is the life for me" !! Didn't think Chad was old enough to remember that very old 60s comedy .. ? ? ? lolol Great video guys ... And AWESOME smile that Tara has :) :) :) Safe travels
I am sure you have but check out no Rinse products I’m using this stuff to do my motorhome and vehicles , it’s incredible everywhere I go somebody says how do you get that shine. RV fun with Thomyt!
Four hundred for a good detail and wash once in a while is worth it to keep the rig looking right. That dry wash is great as long as you keep after it and don’t let it get too nasty. Another great video. Thanks
When we go to Florida in January we always get the rv detailed, which is wash and hand waxed. The detailed told us that if we have it done by hand once a year then just wash wax every couple of months that would take care of the finish
Love Blue Beacons when we are traveling. If I have to wash on the road, and the park allows it, I only use water. I'll wash with soap 2x year at my sons house.
Yes, Alcohol for tree sap absolutely works fantastic. We use Hydrogen Peroxide ti remove love bugs. It works best if you get them off within a few hours.
We’ve used Wash Wax All for years, works great. For a refill, buy the concentrate. For bugs we use Bug n’ All. Spray on, let sit for a few minutes and wipe bugs off.
Pine Pitch? Castrol Super Clean. It's the only thing I've found that removes pine pitch. Full strength, clean cloth, small circular motion. Works great. Todd and Anna in New Hampshire. BTW. Love your videos.
I've been using the Wash Wax All for the last year, it work great and makes the quick clean when we get home from trips super easy. I think it's getting easier to clean the bugs off the more I use it on the front cap.
Thank you for the review! We like Blue Beacon -- used the one in Eloy, AZ. Pretty reasonable in our opinion, but can't beat your own hand detailing. We were using the RV Wash/Wax, along with the Protect-All Rubber Roof Treatment. Pretty labor intensive as it took a few days to complete the job on our 30' GD 5ver. The rubber roof treatment was a challenge due to my acrophobic issues and hubby (although a Fireman) had some issues on the roof. We will certainly try that Wash Wax All.
I noticed a Blue Beacon in Shreveport on our way back from a trip to Texas. Wanted to stop but wasn't sure if they take care of RVs. I'll give them a try based on your advice. Also, I like the Dry wash idea for in-between cleaning. As always thanks for the tips especially using dryer sheets to get the bugs off. Bugs seem to love the hot humid weather in Louisiana. Lol
Ron Oboogie and all: we have a 35’ Bounder 13 years old and we pay for an Annua hand wax ($350) then we BBeacon with our TOAD getting no acid; no brushes EXCEPT REEFER VENTS->> NO SPRAY, BRUSH VENTS ONLY then rinse from above!!!! BBeacon with Rain X $50 to $66, depending on location - we ❤️ Blue Beacon Washes! They recycle their water also. GREAT VIDEO, guys!
Thanks for this video, we use Blue Beacon for the overall wash but am ready to pull the trigger on the kit. I use a cup of Murphy’s Oil Soap in a bucket of hot water for bugs. Dryer sheets scratch
Thank you for another informative video with both...things that worked well and not so much. I’m thinking that wonderfully substantial extension pole could be dual purposed and used to raise your antenna in place of your 10’ PVC, which I am sure has been cut down by now. Safe travels and keep the memories magical.
I have just completed prepping the rubber roof for applying the sealer coating. I had the same black spots on my roof. To remove them I used 1gal. of house hold bleach with 1gal of water in a garden tank pump sprayer. thoroughly wet the roof, let it stay on for at least 10 min.apply more if it starts to dry out. Brush heavy spots, and rinse. The two gal. was enough to do a 40ft fifth wheel.Plan on washing the rest of your RV right after the roof.
use a trailer brite, yes tailer BRITE truck wash on the roof. the truss line will be removed.. just a simple foam cannon 5 parts water in the bottle 1 part car was shampoo to 3 parts trailer brite. you will be amazed.. great video though guys!
We purchased this last summer and love it. Like you, we sprayed on the surface then wiped and buffed. We later learned that it is better to spray the wet pad, scrub then buff. You use much less cleaner and it doesn't dry too fast. We haven't tried that yet but will the next time we wash.
Our visit to a Blue Beacon included the option of having our class A dried. One price for the windows only ($20 I think) and ($40 ??) for the whole coach (not the roof). Opting for the windows we watched the two workers go above and beyond by also drying the wheels and spraying dressing on the tires. They got a big tip from us !! I will be looking for the Wash-Wax All. Thanks for all the good info!
Great Informative video. Now I have a tip for you, and others. If you use alcohol, usually IPA, or Iso propyl alcohol, it will strip off the oils and waxes from the paint. I would avoid using denatured as it is too strong and can damage decals. When Ceramic coating, or applying paint protection film, and when polishing paint prior to wax or coating, IPA is used to clean the oils and residue off. Wax it when done!! I have been using dry wash on my ceramic coated F150, two years later still shines like the day I did it. Glad to see there is a kit like this, going to add it to my list. We just got our first 5th wheel and I am in the process of giving it it's first coat of wax. I hand wax the initial layer, and use spray and wash the rest of the time. 3 days so far and I am still not done! $400 is a steal!!! We have an Arctic Wolf 3660SUITE, 43' long.
Another great informative content! Yeah, the kit is a little pricey but it’s a value to be able to wash your rig anywhere & know it’s done right! Thanks again for all you do making your videos, very helpful!
As a trucker I've tried them all... ALWAYS us Blue Beacon!!! Never use the mom and pop truckwash. My rig is custom and show quality black paint. No brushing black paint!!!One thing to note is all truckwashes use acid to clean so if you use mcGuires carnuba wax or any other wax, this acid will eat the wax off. So wash infrequently. I find on my big rig it takes only 3 washes to have zero wax left. I do a straight wash no wax or rainx... It leaves a film. Always ask for an extra rinse My truck wash is usually $108 because I also get tire dressing and hand dry Tipping is not required I also use the dry wash and it looks great!!!
Great video! We have been full time for 6 months and had no idea how many rv parks do not allow washing. I’ve thought about washing the rig the day I leave but I like your solution better.
You guys are too funny!! You know I didn't think about this task thanks for showing the options. Phew I'd be pissed too about the bad wash and scratches, glad it got fixed.
Also, Turtle Wax Hybrid solutions Ceramic spray works amazing. It can be used on everything, plastics, painted surfaces, metal, and windows. It lasts for a long time. I use it on my fiberglass keystone laredo TT, and I cant speak of it highly enough. Its 13 a bottle at a Wally World, or Menards. There is a maintainer they have you use in between treatments. The ceramic spray goes on super easy, wipes off easy and it clings to the surface. It gives you a mirror finish.
I just received a gallon of the Wash Wax All and bottles of Rubber Care that I ordered. Excited to try it out on our new 2019 Keystone Outback. To bad it’s pouring down rain today. Thank for the video.
Hey guys! Im sure youve heard this a ton of times, BUT. Im gonna say it anyway; ,, You both Make an AWESOME COUPLE!!! I dont think you could have picked a better partner You equally complement one another almost... too good!!! (and there aint nothin wrong with that) Keep rockin!
Great video, that wash wax all looks like a great product. If anyone is in the Yuma area we stayed at foothills rv and in their brochure they listed a company that came out to the park, they hand washed and hand waxed with Meguirs wax our 38 foot class a for $99, yup $99 and they did a fabulous job.
I just suscribed to your channel. Thanks for all the tips. I am going through the videos learning how to better care for my RV. The tool one is great, I convinced my wife to let me buy more tools as a result of your recommendations BTW, on electornic door lock video, I would have paid admission to see Phil stuff Stacy through the window. Too funny.
I’m am going to break down and buy the wash & was all to satisfy my OCD with having a super clean RV. We are weekend warriors and I generally wash/detail before we go camping (usually 2 or 3 nights) then do a quick wash when we get back before I put it away. Currently I start with purple power on wheels, tires then move to the RV. For that I use a foam/soap cannon on my pressure washer and spray down one side at a time, front & back are separate. I will use a soft brush on a pole and lightly brush it before rinsing. I use Chemical Guys soaps. Then after washing, I spray a matte finish tire protectant on tires then break out the leaf blower and quickly go over RV to get water out of books and crannies. Then simply wipe it down w/microfiber towels. Since day 1 I use F11, and wipe the entire coach, windows and all with F11 and I get asked all the time how do I get it looking so shiny, what do I use... it is a labor of love but the results are stellar. I drive big rigs before and Blue Beacon or “Streaking Beacon” as we called them do ok to knock off a super dirty rig but lots of work left behind to really get it clean & shiny.
Super good and interesting video. We used the same spray on our airplane (sold it to buy an RV!!) Your videos are outstanding and a huge asset to us new (and older) guys RVing. Thank You and keep up the great knowledge videos we all need to know.
Dryer sheets may work on the bugs but they are very harsh on the paint surface, There are many good bug removers at most any auto parts store. Love the content guys very down to earth and practical.
Always lamb wool pad should be used. Invest in a simple chuck water deionizer, small electric pressure washer and foam gun and you could get that rig clean in under 2 hours. We get our 37 foot class A done in under 90 min.
Careful with streaking beacon. I have been a truck driver for 30 years and used them many times but they do recycle water. When doing this it doesn't get all the aluminum brighter out and leaves streaks.
Beacons citrus cleaner is safe and well worth the expense. Another option some beacons off is undercarriage wash. Nice for the pickup especially during the winter. Another good national chain is truckomat. $400 for a detail is a bargain btw. I'm like you twice a year would be plenty
I have the Wash/Wax All kit also. I love it! I buy The Chemical Guys Waterless wash in the concentrate, and use that to make my gallons for this kit. Saves much money, and works, at least, as good as the stuff that comes in the kit.
If you’re still in the Tampa area, are you a mobile detailer? Would love to have you service mine before I sell it! Lol
@@hurco8295 usually down that way in the winter months
MAGIC SPONGES ... my wife loves those things!
I've had great success cleaning love bugs with baby shampoo. I only use it on the front facia and mirrors and it makes for easy removal. 18 years of Florida living taught me that!
Wash All is great, I have been using it on my motorcycles and truck for years. The tire dressing is great as well.
I'm a new owner of a Grand Design full body paint and this info was just what I needed.
The outtakes were fantastic,!
We lived in Miami Everglades until moving to South Carolina. Chris and Nancy were great, did a wonderful job on our unit.
Thanks for all your great videos. I know this is an old video. Do you still use the wash-wax all kit or have you gone to something new?
We were introduced to this at a Passport America rally in 2015. Have used it since and like yall said it works on everything. Happy Trails folks, by the way if you ever get to the Tetons plz stop in and say hello at GVCG. We are in Loop E.
For the dryer sheet use, use them after you have used them in the dryer. Gunk is gone. Sprayway Glass Cleaner and a microfiber cloth works really well as a "dry" wash.
Hmmmm.. haven't tried a "spent" one before... Thanks for the tip! 👍🏼

If love bugs just ceased to exist, there would be a lot of happy people! LOL
We started taking our 2021 Keystone Montana to Blue Beacon and they have done a great job.
I kept waiting on the acid joke and then when she was trying to get you to say “extend” all I could think of was the game show $10,000 pyramid 😂🤣😂
We love you guys ! We learn so much from watching you. Keep it real and keep it honest ! Catcha down the road !!
Im a owner operator and and I LOVE blue Beacon they always do an amazing job on my truck. Great video guys! enjoy watching your adventures!

Thanks for the sap removal tip! Have had spots on my white King Ranch Super Duty for over 2 years. Hand sanitizer took them right off! Thanks!!!!
Have you tried Release before. Spray on wait 2 minutes wipe off then follow with dry cloth wipe.
I used two different Blue Beacon stops, one in Salt Lake City $70 and the other in Denton, Texas $60 (DFW Metro Mess) and was pleased both times. My kit came with a degreaser also, good stuff
My neighbor has a full paint job & had his ceramic coated with 3 coats, expensive yes but mantaince is super super easy.
Oh youre telling me? 🤣. Ive watched a few of your vids....he seems like a really nice guy.
W-D40 removes sap, tar, etc perfectly :)
Thanks for the video, I am about 15 min from Everglades RV Park in Miami. Will add Chris and Nancy detailers to my list.
Love this video. some great ideas, Plus you guys are soo awesome, love they way you interact with each other and love the outtakes.
I love these two! It’s rare to see a true TEAM like they clearly are. Lots of true love for each other which is just rare.
Nice to see someone really take care of the paint 👊🏼
I have been using same product for years. Works great! Once again I agree with you guys. Keep up the great videos.
LOL... "Greeeen Acres is the place to be ... Farm livin is the life for me" !! Didn't think Chad was old enough to remember that very old 60s comedy .. ? ? ? lolol
Great video guys ... And AWESOME smile that Tara has :) :) :) Safe travels
It was one of those show that I really hated but watched because we only had 3 channels! LOL Times sure have changed!
I am sure you have but check out no Rinse products I’m using this stuff to do my motorhome and vehicles , it’s incredible everywhere I go somebody says how do you get that shine. RV fun with Thomyt!

Thank You I am new @ this and alone in a 99 class A Fleetwood so I needed all of this information
We really loved this video, so much info and we loved how you didn't hesitate to show the fails as well as the successes. Great Video!
Thanks! We're outlining a video now over everything that's broken in the bast 1.5 years... Nothing big.. but want to cover it..
For bugs i use the green side of one of those little kitchen sponges.
When we go to Florida in January we always get the rv detailed, which is wash and hand waxed. The detailed told us that if we have it done by hand once a year then just wash wax every couple of months that would take care of the finish

First time I've watched you folks. Great presentation. Love the humor. Content is pretty good too. LOL

Great vlog guys, well done. Thanks for the info, time, and for sharing your experience...
I use that same stuff on all my vehicles. It is awesome.
Loved the Video as always. I can't find that extension pole anywhere.... But I wish I could.

Welcome to our channel! 😊 Thanks for watching! 😊
Good info. Clear and concise....late to this, but subscribed
You guys are so cute, thanks for the great videos and the laughs at the end. 👍🏼God bless you 🌞😁❤

Always ask for an extra rinse
My truck wash is usually $108 because I also get tire dressing and hand dry
Tipping is not required
I also use the dry wash and it looks great!!!
Great video! We have been full time for 6 months and had no idea how many rv parks do not allow washing. I’ve thought about washing the rig the day I leave but I like your solution better.
My maiden name is Platt!!! @lifeinarv
Best outtakes yet!!
You guys are too funny!! You know I didn't think about this task thanks for showing the options. Phew I'd be pissed too about the bad wash and scratches, glad it got fixed.
Bug Slide! Live in FL and use it on RV and the Harley...
Lol on the outtakes! Great video Chad and Tara! FYI. Alcohol while cleaning the RV, should be a mandatory!
We use the wash wax all also. It works very well. Thanks for your great videos!
Acid will dull shine on your aluminium wheels, and you will need to polish them out. Rain X is good too use.
Thanks for the tip Larry 👍
I just received a gallon of the Wash Wax All and bottles of Rubber Care that I ordered. Excited to try it out on our new 2019 Keystone Outback. To bad it’s pouring down rain today. Thank for the video.
Good luck! Hope you like it! 😊
Hey guys! Im sure youve heard this a ton of times, BUT. Im gonna say it anyway; ,,
You both Make an AWESOME COUPLE!!! I dont think you could have picked a better partner
You equally complement one another almost... too good!!!
(and there aint nothin wrong with that)
Keep rockin!
Wow! That's a deal!
I have used blue beacon 4 times had no issues.
Too funny.
Welcome! Make sure you check out our website, there is some great stuff in there 😎 changinglanesrv.com/
Use citrol 266 for bugs and tar remover safe for glass trimm plastic paint works absolutely awsome
Friggin outakes are 😂😂😂😂 this was really great info. I'll pass it onto my dad who also has a 44' house on wheels.
Pain killers and Wash Wax All are great! - Jersey Mike
YESSSSSSS! 🍹😊
Great video you two! Thanks!
Also, Daisy's face at 9:40!
Also, laughed out loud at the outtakes! Again, thanks!
LOL!
Dryer sheets may work on the bugs but they are very harsh on the paint surface, There are many good bug removers at most any auto parts store. Love the content guys very down to earth and practical.
STREAKIN BEACON saves the day!!!
Thanks for the Dryer sheets great idea .
I was going to ask about the bug stains, but then you mentioned the bug scrubber. Awesome...I got to get one of those kits...THANK YOU !!!
I’m impressed the dry wash does not leave micro scratches in the clear coat.
I used wash wax all for a while. Now I use simple reflections cleaner. It's also waterless but I find the shine last longer.
One thing I like to use on my vehicles for bugs is one of those sponges and has a sort of net around it in the same soap. So much easier.
Good tip! Will check that out, thanks!
