    My grandfather was born in 1918 in late November. He was a Redsox fan his entire life, and waited until 2004 to see it. “I can go now”, he told me after this ALCS because he knew the wait was over. He died happy four month later.
    Rip Pap, and all those other old timers I saw cry tears of joy almost 20 years ago.

    The day the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004 is one of those days that every Red Sox fan knows where they were the moment they won and the curse had been reversed! One of the best moments in New England Sports history! Much love for Big Papi ❤️🩶

    Greatest comeback in sports history, bar none. Even better than 28-3, because this took beating the Yankees 4 straight games while on the verge of being eliminated. This series definitely took a few years off my life, especially Games 4 & 5. But nothing better than doing it against Rivera and the Yankees.

      You’re not from New England I’m guessing bc both times you just knew. One of the few things Sam said that didn’t make him seem like a pathetic hater was that even Sox fans knew game 4. Papi’s homer that game was the momentum changer. It was my senior year and I was so lost in applications I didn’t watch till that game. I called her then and said it’s meant to be, I feel like I’m watching it with you, and we’re gonna go the whole way…I just feel it. You knew. Same with 28-3. Neither team scored the first quarter and a half. The falcons balled a quarter and a half, what’s to say the patriots couldn’t do the same…and they did. Most nerve wracking part of the game was OT even though Brady had the ball and you knew. I was so nervous I could barely watch and covered my eyes bc Boston is known for blown leads and iconic comebacks. Always have been. New England fans knew this was the year. They felt it with the ARod Tek fight and they knew it with Papis homer, even losing still down 3 games in game 4. I’m guessing you can’t be from New England because you don’t know the energy of Boston area sports

      Sam literally doesn’t know anything he’s talking about and keeps thinking he’s right. It was 1918, not 1919. Of course a Skankee fan can’t do the math for 86 years. He’s more and more obnoxious everytime he speaks in trying so hard to finish this episode. It’s taken me over a year 😂. I get a little further and Sam is just more and more wrong and obnoxious. How they did this episode and didn’t try to recap the year or game even for 5 minutes is just pathetic. I’m disappointed. Never took Jules as the lazy type.

    • @kristiwasserman2303
      @kristiwasserman2303 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They didn’t take even 5 minutes to recap the actual facts. When you can’t get an 86 year curse right and are saying 1919(1918 was the last Sox win before 2004…if you didn’t remember that, just do basic math. Then Jules and Sam are acting like they were in high school still. I’m disappointed, they butchered what should’ve been a great episode on so many levels. First with Sam being a biased Skankee hater. It’s your job to be objective (yes have some biased, but he was just spewing New England hate and Skankee love). Two how do you pretend to be a Skankee fan and not know major events about this run. Three the basic facts neither one of them knew was beyond pathetic. Down to moneyball. Is your brain so fried you didn’t know the Red Sox weren’t the focus of that movie. It laid the groundwork for how they won the next year, but Theo Epstein wasn’t in it and every second either one of them speak (especially Sam) it’s more and more infuriating. Literally 5 minutes of prep work and they don’t sound like drunken, stoner frat boys. This episode is painful. I don’t know that I’ll ever finish it.

    Morris only has NY memories on the whole bench clearing Varitek moosh facing with the catchers mitt into ARods face, brawl. Zimmer charged Pedro, Pedro held up his hand defensively, back stepped and Zimmer tripped over his feet, with rotund belly help. You also have to remember that prior to that Zimmer was the Sox manager who took great teams and totally screwed up their chances to win prior to 2004. That’s why Zimmers nickname was the Gerbil in Boston. By the way, including game 4 of the ALCS, the Sox ripped off 8 straight wins to win the series. It was also the 4th St Louis team Boston beat to win a sports championship over the years.
