How people didn’t connect with this album is beyond me. She made a track for nearly everyone. Relatable yet so very personal. That’s a hard balance. Most of the popular music today can’t truly compete to Katy’s mature and well rounded sound. She’s amazing. People got too comfortable disrespecting Katy’s versatility and creativity during the ‘Witness’ timeframe. Witness wasn’t even designed to be a pop-smash hit and she KNEW that. The way people mistreated her was filthy. Smile is literally an example of “the best way to move on is to move forward.”
