great fiddling, big fan, but sometimes the playing is too quiet, so it can't be heard over the orchestra, even if the orchestra is fairly soft. an acoustic violin with full orchestra in a big hall doesn't really have the luxury of employing a great dynamic range, since our maximum loudness isn't that great to begin with. we can't really make huge differences between loud and soft. solo violin, or a small chamber group in an intimate venue is a different story. nevertheless, awesome fiddling! thank you for all the wonderful performances you've been putting out.
While this is often a problem with live violin concerts, for this recording notice that the mics are quite close to Maestro Roussev, so minimal sound engineering should have solved the problem. If you can't hear some notes clearly, it could be due to speakers / headphones having too much distortion or too much bass. I can see you're probably talking about those fast passages though and maybe they came out more clearly live.
I love at 0:53 you're like "Wait, what piece is this again?"
Fantastic playing!
There was also Havanaise and Caprice en forme de valse, better check:-)
