Oh! How true, Mr. Hodes. A dear friend of mine served as his advisor regarding magic, afterward becoming that same for Copperfield for more than a decade. I suppose that If I'd pressed him, I might have been enabled to meet the great man but, back then I was much younger and so not yet fully aware of Mr. Welles' all-encompassing genius. Honestly, I'd not been aware that celluloid maestro Welles had made (or, been associated with) such a series. The first was splendid and this next one will prove likewise I am sure.
A wonderful adaptation of the Conan Doyle short story. The incomparable Christopher Lee with excellent performances by Jane Seymour & Simon Ward ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
John Barry is a composer maestro in superlatives - even the theme music is outstandingly magnificent; en effet bar none. It has the perceptibly subtle nuances to James Bond's theme in minute quality; from my perspective.
Anything with the great Christopher Lee is going to be good. Even when he's playing a non sinister role he projects gravitas and subtle menace. He is simply unequalled.
I say, Jane Seymour was an absolute smasher. At this time, she was also starring in James Bond in 'Live and Let Die' and Christopher Lee would then deliver his 'Scaramanga' performance in 'The Man With the Golden Gun'.
I’m 60yrs old and don’t remember it. But.., Daddy did have control of the tv and we watched what he wanted to watch. A different time. These days, the children dictate what happens in the home.
What a fascinating variation on the story previously filmed in 1962 as "The Burning Court." I do miss Gothic cinema, 21st century films are such a waste of time!
This is one echt Bond-esque or Bondian episode in spades - yes, Christopher Lee aka Francisco Scaramanga, Jane Seymour aka Solitaire and the maestro of a composer John Barry being featured altogether collaboratively; tout court. IMAGINE being the fly on the wall - what would their filming moments be whilst on set and so forth. Jolly good doubtlessly; what an incontestable delight to experience.
Molto interessante e ben fatto. Già quando ho visto quella specie di imbuto mi ha ricordato un vecchio sceneggiato che avevo visto molti anni fa, intitolato "La dama dei veleni", proprio incentrato su Marie D'Aubray, personaggio storico realmente esistito.
Bloody hell! Christopher Lee! It's the series that keeps on giving! Fantastic and a young and sweet Simon Ward.
The world would be a much poorer place without the genius of Orson Welles.

SO FANTASTIC, that I did not want it to END - and so quickly! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Jane Seymour and Christopher Lee!? Outstanding

Jane Seymour was so beautiful and still is.
There's something inherently disconcerting and gross about the term "leather funnel"
Thankyou 🎉

Christopher Lee and Jane Seymour
Subscribed!
The Brits have got the lock on high drama; and low morals....
And I thought it was awkward meeting my wife's family for the first time...
That’s Jane Seymour? Wow…young! And a knockout.
So what was the funnel for? Poring hot boiling oil down the gullet of the condemned?
Talk about cruel and unusual! The founding fathers probably had this kind of judicial punishment in mind when they insisted on limits! 🤔
Forcing the person to drink large quantities of water.
Equivalent to water boarding. Hideous.
Or 'other' dubious liquids of nefarious origin....
Tap water from Flint, Michigan...
Jane Seymour et Christopher Lee 🫶🏻
Is that a young Jane Seymour? :o
Good riddance for her then (cos we all have a past).. Nice find. Thk Q!❤
Thanks! This is great.
