M8, i found your channel a few weeks ago, and I wanted to say that I'm amazed with every cover so far. I also would like to ask if you're planning to review some gear in the future. Anyways I wish you the best of luck! ^^
I can help ya m8. The 1st thing to do is grab a pick. I usually use Dunlop 0.6 mm, the smaller the pick the fastest you can play, up and down, unless you're looking for a "heavy metal kind of tone" in that case you should try bigger picks maybe 1.0 or 1.14. You will also need to practice every day, your up and down picking technique sitting down to find a comfortable position, always remember just like when using your fingers, if you pick closer to the bridge you'll get a brighter sound, if you pick closer to the neck you'll get a warmer sound, try to pick between both the bridge and neck so you can find your right spot, When you feel comfortable try to speed up a little after that a little more, then try to play your bass while standing up, walk around a little, but don't forget to practice every single day, the secret is in the pulse (going up and going down), it might hurt a little bit but you'll get used to it. Good luck!!! ^^
Try not to hurry and learn something like Rise Against, or August Burns Red, maybe something Like Green Day - Longview, a few songs from Beartooth (Agressive, King of Anything), Royal Blood. You could also play songs you already know, but instead of using your fingers, you grab a pick! Good luck m8!
