We don’t need no stinking rivalry game….hell, everyone is a rival!!!
We need to get back to more regionally based conferences. 8-10 teams in each conference. And schedule a non conference game for everyone in the second half of season to see how the conferences stack up against each other.
I was at the 2019 final 4 in Minneapolis and Texas tech fans were nuts…driving downtown getting guns up from people everywhere and seeing old friends I hadn’t seen in over 30 years…fantastic fan base very much showed up!❤
I was in Tulsa and Minneapolis that year as well as Lubbock in 2008 against Texas and for a multitude of great games, however it's very hard to be much more fired up than for those games.
That Beard game in Lubbock was intense! Loved the atmosphere!
Fans should have indoor track fever!!! Coach Wes Kittley has another strong team! Men are ranked third! Remember track has had national championships and several big 12 championships!
I hope the WVU game doesn't matter at all because we'll have spent 2 weeks celebrating our Arlington invite already

Our out-of-conference schedule is very disappointing to say the least. I have to say I am happy to be playing OSU and ASU again but it would have been nice to have Baylor or TCU as well.
It is getting harder and harder to justify season tickets when more than a quarter of our home schedule involves teams like AR Pine Bluff and Kent St. Seriously, it's ridiculous scheduling.
Kirby needs to stop scheduling all non-conf cupcakes. He’s killing fan enthusiasm with his schedules for both football and basketball.
The difference between football and basketball? One person makes a bigger impact in basketball than football. We had a great atmosphere in the aughts during the Knight era, and a lot of that was due to maybe 20 guys who sat in row 1 and row 2 behind the basket. Bring that energy and the rest of the crowd followed.
It's gotta be football simply for the fact that there are less games. Each one has a lot more riding on it.
I really want us to be a team that every fan of our opposing teams storm their home fields whenever they beat us.

I never go to basketball games since I live in east TX but I went to the football game in FW. Miss the bball games
I really dislike the mega-conferences for the reasons stated. Everybody should play the same darn schedule. Everybody should play everybody. In basketball, everybody should play everybody, home and away. These unbalanced schedules don't make any sense, but this is the 21st century, making sense doesn't seem to be a high priority anymore. To me the last time the football program was producing enough to get fans at a crazy fever pitch was in 2008. The peak was the UT game. That was a bonafide frenzy. People were car surfing down University after that game for crying out loud.
Fans burned scooters, a couch, and flipped a car over after the Final Four win against Michigan State. The basketball atmosphere is just more hostile and electric but they've been more successful than the football program so can't really compare.
Tech needs better nonconference games. Oregon state is good but need one more challenging game.
And it doesn’t prepare us for conference games.
