itachi8301 Don't get me wrong, a trombone sound is amazing, as I play trombone. But if I find a really good trumpet or french horn sound, I'm easily pleased.
@@laneandfriendsmusic754 there is a contra. It's got a wider bore, more tubing on both valves, and the slide is doubled over (4 lengths rather than 2).
The Wikipedia article on anvils list 26 works by different composers. They include Josef Strauss, Wagner : Das Reingold, Verdi, John Philip Sausa , The Beatles and Metallica as well as a bunch of movie composers. Several other opera composers are mentioned in the discussion after the list. Using anvils is not that rare but it is neat.
I know Holst's Second Suite has a prominent anvil part in the third movement (titled "Song of the Blacksmith") and I know the anthem of the USSR also features anvil.
As a swede and bass trombonist, I can appreciate the warm and beautiful (bonus points for the anvil sound that was cool and sounded like I was living in 1200s Sweden!) yet heroic tone you guys played this with, it sounds oddly nordic which I like! But the harmony between parts and melody switches between parts was exceptionally well done! If I could I would love to go to Hungary for the country it self but also to see you guys live. Budapest and Szeged look like really cool cities to visit Love from Sweden
DO IT! It's so much easier than you think and so much more rewarding as well. I was hesitant to start a group my freshman year in college as I assumed nobody would want to with classes and marching band going on. I was wrong, everyone was all for it.
I would but everyone else except like two people aren't very good. And it's annoying because they'd be good if they'd ACTUALLY care about band and practice.
That guy on anvil at 3:00 rocks. If you want low brass, look for "epic low brass, game of thrones" Killer. 6 Bass bones, 6 contrabasses, cimbassos, tubas, and some tenor horns thrown in just because. Top gun studio players out of New York City.
I'm not typically a wind instrument fan but this group is awesome. Szeged: home of the best paprika and trombone group and my favorite Hungarian "southern" accent...lol
Oh my sweet sweet ears. This is absolutely gorgeous. Do you happen to know when the score to this piece will be published? It would be another (incredibly) fine addition to collection. Looking foreword to playing this sometime in the future!
Thank you for your kind words! Its always a pleasure to read feedback like this!:) please contact sakermusic.eu the guys will help you with the publishing date!
I have been playing trombone since 1962 and still play in three orchestras, two bands and a trombone Choir. I have taught brass methods and applied low brass at two universities. These guys are great! Go tbones!!
Absolutely beautiful. I am a big fan of lord of the rings and i am band so hearing this is just... wow. You guys did great. Our low brass section is trying to reach your level.
WOW, nice powerhouse playing! Check out the lead player at 5:18-5:26, is he cupping his bottom lip outside of the mouthpiece??? Or is it just an illusion caused by reflection off the outer rim?
Not gonna lie...That anvil sets that entire scene
that's what they did in the original score. look it up!
Melutox I think it's an amazing part. Never really thought something like an anvil would be so effective for setting a tone.
As a trombonist and Tolkienite, this was epic :D
This is why the trombone is considered the most powerful instrument
Is you think this is good listen to the canadian brass!!!
itachi8301 Thanks for the compliment! I play trombone and it is stupidly powerful!
Crews Owen Same here, each day I fall in love with my trombone :)
itachi8301 as a tenor and bass trombonist you are now my hero for saying what I've been trying to explain for years
itachi8301 Don't get me wrong, a trombone sound is amazing, as I play trombone. But if I find a really good trumpet or french horn sound, I'm easily pleased.
Tuba guy: Day 100, they still think I am one of them
There’s a Im-tuba among us
Poor guy...😢
Cute!!!!
Tromboneland and Tubaland are friends and allies. Trumpetland on the other hand....
Oh My God. I love that Bass Trombone... I think I just fell in love.
+Diego Rovaglia i know right
I think it's a contrabass bone
@@tuboplover I don't think there is a contra, but just a very intimidating bass though😂😂😂
@@laneandfriendsmusic754 there is a contra. It's got a wider bore, more tubing on both valves, and the slide is doubled over (4 lengths rather than 2).
That hammer and anvil part is both unique and very cool.
That's what they do in the original Howard shore orchestra :P you should watch it
Not really unique but really really cool.

Thank You for your kind feedback!
Let us know when you visit our beautiful country, maybe we can meet for some beers;)
It’s amazing how well it all blends together, I thought I’d miss some of the other instruments but i was wrong
I miss playing trombone. Such a beautiful instrument.
these basses know what they are doing. Actually moving the crescendos and even more. Awesome performance!!!!
A worthy (brass) performance of the best soundtrack/score of cinematographic history. Beautiful and epic.
This 1st trombone is such a beast !
Amazing. Exciting. Moving. Powerful. Technical. Smooth. Superb. BRAVO!!!! from a former trombonist. Everything I loved about the instrument.
Thank You!🙏🏻
The tone is unreal, I would kill to have such control and expression in my tone
Bractice
I love the little trombone nods/cues they do to keep in time :)
French horns aren't the only ones who can play this GO TROMBONES
i got chills when rivendell came on
lol same it's eargasmic
Beautiful tone all around. Spectacular.
" so yeah um,. i'm playing in a Band."
"nice,which Instrument do ya play?"
"Oh, the Anvil you know..."
sounds nice.
the beauty of music.
It's a legitimate percussion instrument, and not that terribly unusual. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anvil#Musical_instruments
Tbh, my city's concert band used an anvil as a percussion instrument once
If only l could get a group like this together at school. College band is great, BUT BRASS GROUPS ARE SO MUCH BETTER!

More brass please!

thought the anvil guy rocked? check out that bass drum player haha
I saw the game of thrones trombone thing. That was one of the best things I have ever heard. I love youtube. :D
6:28 such bass bone, much sound.
Wow
So bass.
But can we appreciate the tuba hold that pedal tone for like 15 whole seconds
Bass bones like these make me tirelessly persue a dream like this
@@demonfaceINC I counted two breaths, each lasting 4 bars and it's pretty quick too.
I like that the trombone slide doubles as a baton to keep time :)
This gives me goosebumps evertime I listen to it, you guys are amazing!
And this is why i play trombone. (plus, i love lotr)
trombones dont get enough love in the band :( Even though we make up 50% of the entire low brass most of the time
+Brice Pugh Relatable
lol same
We have a really small low brass section and im the only the one that plays like im a trombone player; loud.
lol good for you mate
my band has three low brass a baritone a tuba and a trombone the rest are flutes, trumpets and a couple clarinets
1:50 is where I had my eargasm.
This is a world class performance! I dig it!
This was a combination of my two favourite things, trombone and lord of the rings. Loved it!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'm not typically a wind instrument fan but this group is awesome.
Szeged: home of the best paprika and trombone group and my favorite Hungarian "southern" accent...lol

That was awesome, my only complaint is I didn’t hear Rohan’s theme or Lothloriens theme.
This is amazing! Best trombone/low brass ensemble I've heard.
The anvil inclusion makes this so good.
😅😅😅
3:11 damn that guy goes ham on the bass drum
trombone is the best instrument :) i love it !!!! :) And WOW! BEAUTIFUL performance !!!! :) i like what you guys are doing :)

Kedvenc filmem! Fantasztikusan szól!
That anvil is perfect.
Genios me encanta como tocan un saludo desde salta-argentina
You guys should totally do an arrangement of Symphonic Suite by Clifton Williams
Absolutely beautiful. I am a big fan of lord of the rings and i am band so hearing this is just... wow. You guys did great. Our low brass section is trying to reach your level.
Excellent !!! All my congratulations ! Musical greetings from France.🙂
This is magical.
This is so beautiful thank u
Beautiful! I the play trombone and it's an amazing instrument.
I've listened to this for at least a hundred times already. Let's listen again. And tomorrow. And the day after ..
1:33 love shire
This is such an amazing piece!
I absolutely loved this!
Great to hear that! Thank you!:)
Hearing awesome music like that makes me feel so happy to habe chosen learning trombone!
Trombones are simply the best!
One of the best things these guys do is holding out the long notes (when they need to be held) and making them sound beautiful and equally balanced.
Raahim Omer Their chords are lovely
Raahim Omer but I noticed they aren't as dexterous as christopher bill when it comes to playing super fast
The day may come when we stop loving LOTR music played on brass instruments -- but it is not this day!
-- Me, a French horn and trumpet player. 😅
I like this performance very much!
No matter how little love the Tuba gets it is always needed... like hobbits
Sounds like a next level chop buster
Wow that intonation is fantastic
Its good and especially good at the anvil part!
"Orcs are roaming freely across our lands. Unchecked, unchallenged, killing at will. Orcs bearing the white hand of Saruman."
If the lord of the rings characters were instruments...
Legolas - flute
Gimli - Euphonium (or Baritone)
Aragorn - Trombone
Gandalf - Tuba
Golllum - Saxophone
Merry and Pippin - Clarinet
Tom Bombadil - Bass Clarinet
Grima Wormtongue - Bassoon
Frodo - Trumpet
Oliphants - timpani
Orcs - drums
Sauron - Conductor
DF01Parker if you switch gandalf and gimli you got an ensemble!
+Wäisu doust Dou fruache? Flugelhorn
+Wäisu doust Dou fruache?
Sam s just the chef ;)
+Bubi Baba : Could Samwise be the horn? (french horn) :P
+Norse Titan You can't have a full ensemble without a tuba (or bass trombone)
Is there anyway to get a copy of this score? I would love to play this with my Brass Section at my college
It's so hard to see someone getting Isangard's part right, good job!
7:10 The bass is outstanding 😮
Exceptionnel!!!
Increíble! Lo único malo que tiene el vídeo es tener que dejar de oírlo para comentar😝
Is there a full version of this recording? I noticed there was a cut near the end. Fantastic sound all.
they had nice tone quality
Spectacular, Brilliant, Extraordinary.
is there a place to view or purchase the sheet music?
This put the dumbest smile on my face
Awesome!
This tho. Totally awesome.
Very very cool!
WOW, nice powerhouse playing! Check out the lead player at 5:18-5:26, is he cupping his bottom lip outside of the mouthpiece??? Or is it just an illusion caused by reflection off the outer rim?
I think it's a reflection. :)
참 듣기가 좋습니다. 신나는군요. 😉😂
I Love it. I play the trombone and I Love the Lord of the rings
0:00
For a sec I thought halo was gon play
AWESOME!!! is there any way i can get the music for this?
😍I love it
Can't get over how much the one kid looks like Michael Cera...
No one told me that yet :D
Oh man, that's awesome! (and this arrangement and player's are too!)
просто шикарно
How it's called the piece at 0:36?
The Prophecy.
@@nordithen thanks!
muito bem parabéns
4:15. 7:26. Wish the audio was better
Muito Bom!!!
It sounds like there's a part missing at 7:23 ?
7:25 was kinda weird. Everything up until that point had been from fellowship of the ring, and just, out of the blue, in jumps Minas Tirith.
Excellent! Is Mr. Simon's arrangement published? If so, please tell me where I can purchase it for our trombone choir!
The sound of this anvil is so epic ! do you have a good teacher to recommend ?
You have to watch some tutorial videos on youtube and you will be a master of anvil!😅😅
what is the song at 3:00 ?? i've been looking for a while and the closest thing I found was land of shadow and Isengard/orc theme
It's called 'a knife in the dark'
Thank you
I want... no.. I NEED this sheet music!
Hi! Please contact www.sakermusic.eu the will help you!
i love how it ended with Rohans charge
oh,my gosh. They're taking the Hobbits to paradise of tromborn.
That's why I play trombone
thanks for the comment, keep playing!🤩🤩🤩
No Frodo! Cast it into the fire!
What's the name of the soundtrack when the anvil starts beating?
I should NOT have worn my best pants to listen to this....
4:13 😍
