Agreed, I feel like they screwed over the hunters recently. I haven’t played in years but the new hunters gun sounds terrible and why’d they get rid of ammo and feeding your pet?
One thing I’d like to add is that as far as I know spell pen is unnecessary for hunters, and since you’re likely engineering the flex weave paired with disengage in a macro is HUGE for movement.

Hi @Western_TV. Very accurate and nice guide. I do have a question though against rogue. If they decide to sap your pet first, then Cheap on you, it means you won't be able to use Roar of Sacrifice and there is no way for your crab to get out from that sap. Am I right?
ya its tough against rogues if they get the jump on you. for example if you are guarding a flag , to buy more time you want to place your pet far from the flag cap, and yourself away from your pet too, that way the rogue if forced to come out of stealth to walk to the flag after sap.
sorry for the late response ! I have the necessary gems to activate the meta gem, which is 1 red, 1 blue and 1 yellow, and the rest i use resilience because hunters are so squishy. Feel free to play around with them tho, the Agi or Resil gems for the extra slots
You go Beastmaster as BeastCleave Combo with readiness and Wolf as pet. Super strong with Enhancement Shaman and easy to play. MM only with Healer or in 3v3, 5v5 or BG.
Spell pen has a soft cap at 75 (to counter druid's Mark of the Wild) and 120 hard cap (against mages). the survival tactics talent really helps a bunch w that. I honestly do not have spell penetration right now , but I could imagine in niche situations where there’s a combination of paladin / mage / Druid that spell pen would help to land those traps . I’m sure that it’s more necessary in higher arena elo
I actually haven’t tried Ravagers , I’ll def give that a try. I know I love the survivability of crab and intervene definitely has cool outplay potential. Charge + pin also gives you 2 separate roots .
@@Western_TV I enjoy watching hot wheels who’s an amazing hunter. He combines them all into casters and even Pallys and dks. Start with silence, when silence ends immediately pet stun, then feign or deter, then you can use readiness, and do it all again. It’s a lethal chain. Ravager is more squishy I just think it’s overall better against all classes, where as crab is better only for melee. It is tankier though
Nice video. I have a DK and he has decent gear now and I'm thinking about a ranged alt for PVP. I'm really considering Hunter. They look like they'd be a ton of fun in BG's.
ill be honest that i only rely on the survival tactics talent for spell penetration. Enemies have to consciously turn on frost aura + mage shield/druid buff to get the full resistance. If you are finding that at your ELO they are using it more, then start socketing slowly at first until you are at a level where its no longer an issue. There is also a +35 spell penetration enchant to cloak !

another little trick you can do with your pet. if you spec into taunt, it will eat a grounding totem but at the cost of 3 talent points.

The highest rated bm on NA goes bm core hound over readiness and second highest goes bm/11/11 aka aimed shot plus scatter

Hard to decide between crab and ravager. Ravager has a 2sec stun/silence which when combined with silence and feign death makes it hard for Casters.

going to try it out, although i would say im having alot more trouble w melee than i am w casters. I am also NE so that Shadowmeld does help :P

Yeah, don't. Compared to DK hunter is like a glass cannon. Did exactly that: made a hunter after the dk and regretted it.
It’s def not as OP as DK or the top classes, but it’s still viable
