The pea soup with sausage looks like the perfect food to eat on a cold day at an outdoor event... .... what the heck, ALL of the food looks ssssoooo good! I can't help myself. I'm a chowhound and I like eating good food!
I know! The most tasty meal ever! If I had to pick one dish to eat from Southern Germany, that would be it! I have had them already 3 times this year 🙈🙈🙈 Are there Christmas Markets with mulled wine in Australia?
Cooking the World there are markets but nothing like this. They’re more ‘farmers markets’ with the occasional Christmas themed stall. But they are not very common. I’ve never had mulled wine 🤔 I guess because it’s summer for us during Christmas having warm spiced wines wouldn’t really work 😅. But I’d imagine in the snow it would be amazing 😉
Everything looks so tasty. However, the sausage with bun and the desert dumping stood out to me. Thanks for taking us along with you to the Christmas Market. By the way, hello from Indiana USA.
Just love German food. Frickadelle, curryvurst, and schnitzel. I have family who live in alfhausen, they feed us within an inch of our lives when we visit. Can't wait for my next holiday.
Just a heads up: If you talk to a German, never just call it a "brat" - call it a sausage or fried sausage. "Brat" simply stands for the "fried" in "fried sausage" and for a German that just sounds silly and most will not understand it!
I remember going to this Christmas market when I lived in Vaihingen. I was fascinated by everything about it to include the food and small Christmas things for sale and oh the warm wine. It was a wonder!
Oh no, thank you for watching! I feel overwhelmed with all those compliments, because the channel has been here for a while, just nobody was watching:) I wish I could come one day to San Antonio to eat some good BBQ meats and Mexican food :)
Will you do updates for this year's Christmas market? I appreciate your work & plan to have your videos help guide my activities when there in a few weeks. Thank you!
When I was a Flight Attendant for The then USAir, I would fly into Frankfort and take the train up to Nuremberg to see a friend and really enjoyed the street food. That’s what was great about working for the Airlines back then , one got to see a lot of the world on ones own time and I took advantage of it .... PS.. my weakness is potato pancakes and I still make them here in the USA.
I just finished a video about German Christmas Market Drinks, in case you want to have a look. This video is still unlisted, because it will go online on Sunday, but you wont be there anymore, so I thought I will send you the link now: th-cam.com/video/zWZUWZ2plss/w-d-xo.html
Me too. They have cancelled all Christmas Markets here in Germany. Let's hope that next year we will be able to celebrate Christmas time, like we should.
I live in a small city, Big Old dwn twn.Touristy because of Shakespeare festival. Stratford Ont, just tried Potein ,but fast food version fries with gravy and cheese curds. But noticed a new food truck in area Beaver tails.Seen on utube in Toronto but haven't tried.☺
Beware of filled sausages from a barbeque - they tend to squirt when you bite them. I've ruined quite a few shirts this way when eating one on the weekly markets on Kaiserstraße.
@@GUTOMOFFICIAL Thanks for showing me this video. It's interesting how you serve those German dishes. It broke my heart. The only thing to hope for is that some of you actually come over here and eat traditionally. You will be amazed.
Planning a trip to the frankfurt markets this December, assuming germany opens back up for tourism. I know very little german, do many of the vendors speak english?
@@justadumblonde9005 Creme Fraiche is a product that you buy in supermarkets, like sour cream, or cream. I am sure there is a way to make it or substitute it with something else (probably sour cream).
@@cooking-the-world Thank you. It reminds me a little of sour cream and a little of very fine ricotta cheese. The texture is thicker than just sour cream. I certainly do miss this delicious food, though!
What are you going to eat at the German Christmas Market?
Flammkuchen :)
Flammkuchen and Glühwein :)
Mushrooms and garlic sauce
Also, the potato Pancakes with garlic sauce
"Quarkbällchen" (Quark balls /curd balls ?),still warm, and cotton candy.

I never knew what the topping was on the flammkuchen. What is it?
The traditional Flammkuchen is topped with Creme Fraiche, raw onion slices and bacon.
