They’ve made trillions upselling ram in the past and 16gb is still on the low end compared to other high end pcs with standard 32gbs now. They overcharge for ram anyway. I bought 32gb of ddr5 for my i7-12000 two years ago when it was brand new. It’s def cheaper now.

Did you really not take into consideration that the Macs in those videos aren’t M4? 😂 I mean come on, almost any IT savvy person could do it. Intercepting the GeekBench network request and altering the data it sends. Some get flagged, some don’t - depends if you do the checksum correctly. Those videos are most likely fake (as in “the laptop isn’t an M4”) 😂 I can’t believe people actually think those are M4s for real, before doubting it first. The last part was disappointing re: the Mac Mini. If the price is $200 more for a Mac Mini with 16GB unified memory, then it is all "break even" with what they had before. I have my own monitor and keyboard and my 2020 M1 Macbook Air is fine as a traveling device. I want to keep all of that, play $600, and get a small desktop machine instead of upgrading my MacBook Air. That way, I have TWO devices for the same net cost of trading in my M1 MacBook Air for a M4 MacBook.

Yes they probably would have to raise prices due to extended memory and perhaps storage but than they have a big issue leaving a big crowd behind and leave a certain price area unattended. if you raise the price for the basemodel due to memory exztension you shift the model into a new pricerange the entry price of now around 600 is a valid pricerange a price range of 800 feels nearly 1000 which feels nearly double the price as 599 is quite near to 500 but 799 is far of that price area, and in thepricerange of 500 there are a lot of alternatives. It will be the same with the macbook air 1099 fells like 1000 but 1299 or 1399 feels like almost 1500. It's a question of priceelasticity and allready the iphone 16 Pro shows the problem if there are only measurable differences not relevant in daily use (except the billion youtube influencers taking their footage with an iphone) for a normal user still an iphone SE (even older generation) will do the job like calling, messaging or doing pictures for social media. I'm waiting for infos about then Macbook air, but not to replace the current M1, it will be probably the next additional macbook in the family if the price is an macbookair price, if not perhaps a snapdragon device.

İ think they will. M3 vs m3 pro difference is around 30 percent for 11core m3 pro and 40 percent for 12 core . İf m4 pro come with 12core there will be most 15 percent more perf. Difference.m4 pro should come with 6p 8e cores and be Neck to neck m3 max. İwish they also add more gpu core. M3 pro already dowgrade to m2 pro in terms of gpu core count . Less gpu cores , less p core more e core also less transistor than m2 pro. Bot m3 and m3 max has mor transistors than m2 m2 max. M3 pro is disspointing so they should conpansate difference this year
