That castle would be perfect for Game of of Thrones, they did a really neat job rebuilding it (6:39) Can't believe that catapult is still intact (10:29) Hahaha, that's sick (10:34) You've actually walked across Spain at this point, fantastic (11:51) That would have been impressive by itself even if you just stopped here and didn't make it to Santiago. But that would be disappointing after having come all this way. HUH?! Two hours to get a new passport? How come it took so long? Cute, hehehe (14:37) BTW, how did you decide which town to stay in? The office in the church was closed so I had to wait until they reopened for a new passport.

@@IllGetThere Yes, I'll do the Frances up to Portomarin and hopefully I can side track to the full Portugues costal route. Then I am back to the US to fly a couple of days in my job. However, my daughter is studying in Pamplona and we will finish the Frances before the fall.

When I was where you are at in this video, I was starting to get a feeling of sadness. Knowing that my camino would be over in a matter of a few days gave me a knot in my stomach. So I told myself I just would not let my camino end. I will keep the camino spirit with me when I go home. I tried, but the reality of living and the stresses that come along each day made me get back into my normal mode. The camino is good morphine.
I completely understand where you’re coming from and have experienced very similar feelings, especially with the challenges and stresses of quarantine. If you can, find time to take a long stroll to regain some of that Camino peace, even if for a short while. It is clear to me why so many people do multiple Caminos and I am determined to return one day soon. Stay safe, be well, and Buen Camino. 🙏👣
I'm glad you got to do this when you did. I don't know if the Camino is ever going to be the same again. I'm still hoping to try to go this fall but who knows?

Buen Camino. Did you train before you r Camino
Buen Camino! I hike a lot normally, but did do one urban training hike with a local American Pilgrims in the Camino chapter (see my prep playlist for the video). Most importantly, get the right shoes for your feet and size up to accommodate swelling feet. Practice with a full pack to get your body accustomed to extra weight. Lots of research and no expectations. It all paid off and I had an amazing journey. 👣
