2008 Olympic scores vs 2021 Olympic scores

- This video is meant to highlight the vast difference in scoring in between the two games. The video features skills and scores at the Olympic games and not what was on the Code of Points at the respective times. For the calculation of average scores I used the qualification round and not any event finals since the latter provides a very small sample size.

Thanks for putting this together, super interesting to see how scoring has changed over the past 13 years. I would be really interested to know if the gap between the highest and lowest e-scores on each event has changed from 2008 to 2021.

That was sheer joy to watch. Such dedication and talent done with a wonderful height, balance and skill. I have greatly noticed over the years how all the competitors are supporting each other regardless of which team and country they represent. I think that finally politics have been shoved aside so that these artists can be true representatives of the sport. Well done you amazing gymnasts. Liukin’s E Score for the 2008 AA final was 9.325, not 9.225 (6.2/15.525)
if this is supposed to be a comparison of olympic scoring, why did you include scores from the olympic year but not from the actual olympics?? domestic and international scoring is always slightly different (ESPECIALLY for the US in 2021) so using both interchangeably is not that accurate, and the non-olympic inclusions don't really make sense with the title of the video?? hope i'm coming across as too mean or anything, i just lightly disagree with how this was put together.
I believe they did use scores from the olympics but didn’t use the footage due to copyright reasons. For example, the footage of Simone’s vault was from 2019 where she scored a 15.333 but the score she received at the olympics, 15.400, was used in the video.

She might not have been awarded the SV. During quals I only saw one but I could have missed something during AA

Nina also scored 15.4 in Tokyo.
simone biles’ vault at around 1:06 was from event finals
Simone didn't compete in event finals at the Olympics. Triple full just used footage of Simone's 2019 vault, but the score was from the Olympic qualifications.
