- The Michael Kay Show, January 4th, 2021 - The guys ask the producer of the show, Andrew Gundling, on the Philadelphia Eagles' decision to tank the game. Things got heated and annoyed, Don La Greca rips Andrew for his team throwing the game away embarrassingly on national television. Eventually, turned into a screaming match.

The problem here is if you were gonna tank then tank from the beginning of the game , not when your down 3 and then all of a sudden you throw the white flag and put a 3rd string qb in 4th quarter .

They saw an opportunity to pick 6th instead of 10th an they took it. Now they’re picking 12th and have the Dolphins 1st round pick in 2022 instead of only picking 10th in 2021. The Giants and their fans are talking about the Eagles reputation when they’ve gone from winning 4 Super Bowls and being highly respected to throwing a tantrum about missing the playoffs at 6-10. The Eagles made a smart move that has already got them another first rounder and the Giants are butt hurt about missing the playoffs with 10 losses because they have been trash for a decade.
This did not age well for Don. Everyone forgot about it, and the Eagles got Devonta Smith

the jaguars, raiders, broncos, vikings, lions, and jets among a few others could have pulled this crap off yesterday and didnt. imagine if they all tanked the game, the league would be embarassed.
The Broncos did tank yesterday. They had the game in the bag, let the Raiders score with 24 seconds left on 4th down. Let the Raiders convert a 2 point play, then they attempted a 63 yard field goal with 9 seconds left.

I’m an eagles fan. In my opinion, the eagles lost the game to keep the giants out of the playoffs and would have done the same if it was the cowboys. If they were playing either team, and could have stopped either the giants or cowboys from getting into the playoffs by beating them, they would have played to win. I see the 6th vs the 9th pick as a consolation prize. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s how I see it.
They aren't supposed to care about that kind of stuff. Who cares if it's the Giants or the Cowboys or the WFT? You aren't in, what do you care?

But the only reason, well two reasons, why this was even a topic on NY sports radio this last week, was mainly because the Giants missed out on a playoff spot (the fact that if the Eagles played their best would've destroyed the Redskins should tell you all you need to know about that joke of a division) and also because it was a primetime game. Which really, who cares. I remember in 2009 the Bengals completely laid down for the Jets to make the playoffs and the Texans missed out. Why didnt Don have a problem with that?
