I’m publishing a weekly TH-cam video on episodes from the life of Don Bosco, entitled ST JOHN BOSCO by JOE ZAMMIT. In this series I’m narrating events and miracles from the splendid life of Don Bosco. St John Bosco used to perform a miracle almost every day, through the intercession of Mary Help of Christians. From the lives of saints we can learn how to love God more and draw closer to him. Thank you..

I was 26 and was a Catholic convert at 17 (baptized at 19) but wasn't really fantasizing or thinking about marriage, although I got a couple of proposals, until I met my now husband. He was also a bit socially awkward, hilarious and nerdy. I thought he was a bit weird but then at the same time we hit it off, especially because he was Catholic and we laughed so much (he is also kind and hard working). We married within 12 months and have been happily married 26 years.

This is the very best I have watched. I love when Catholic speakers bring their spouse in for a wisdom talk. It's beautiful to hear how Trent keeps praising her and also making her laugh ... And she has come back with a nervous giggle and praising her beloved ... Well done! Thank you.

Awww, you two are so cute together! Glad you found each other. Not gonna lie, I chuckled at Trent relating the story of finding out Laura was 17 to his 24 😅 I imagined a British narrated nature documentary scene along the lines of “and here, he finds out there is danger lurking around him. He must make a hasty, but inconspicuous, retreat before the danger pounces. Can he do it? Let’s observe…”
On a more serious note, I do find dating to be a tough field to navigate right now. When I was seeing someone, I was constantly out and about meeting new people. Now that I’m single, I don’t have as much time or opportunity to be out 🙃 But like Laura says, I’m praying about my discernment and am slowly venturing to the world again.
Lots of people telling me “oh, it’s fine. You’re barely 25, you got plenty of time!” I just smile and nod, but honestly I want to tell them “No! This time won’t last forever, and jut saying the right person will come around does not help me find and prepare for him.” They mean well, but I do think it’s better to find someone while you’re young so we can grow and adapt together than settle later in life when habits are already ingrained. Just my thoughts.
Anywho, glad to see Trent found someone who can be just as nerdy as him 😋 Thanks for being a good witness of a Catholic couple and good luck in y’all’s marriage. And can confirm, public and homeschool kids are weird no matter what 😅.

@@rosiegirl2485 as far as I know I think they have this kind of adoration at two conferences in the summer. The Holy Spirit conference (my mom went to that) and the apologetic conference (the one I attended) they both did the adoration this way apparently at the same time every conference because my mom knew when we were having it. She attends conferences there alot. I am not sure if they do the adoration in this manner at any other time.

My older brother John Paul leads the worship band for their conferences! It is their custom to have Eucharistic adoration on the Saturday night of every weekend conference. I'm certain that not all women are called to marry...and that doesn't mean they're going to be nuns, either. Flannery O'Connor is a favorite Catholic author of mine...she never married, but rather devoted herself to writing. Her stories, full of her Catholic faith, are studied in literature classes far and wide...and will be until the Lord returns. Loved something she said in response to some Protestant at a dinner party who said the Eucharist is just a symbol. She recounted in a letter that she responded to the offender, "Well, if it's a symbol, to h*ll with it." She went on to write, "That was all the defense I was capable of but I realize now that this is all I will ever be able to say about it, outside of a story, except that it is the center of existence for me; all the rest of life is expendable."

Girl, I will be 35 and I do not regret the possibility of marriage later. I will be a better spouse and future mother because of my life experiences. God is the author of marriage. You can’t force a partner to manifest on your timetable. Don’t be discouraged. You want a quality marriage for genuine reasons. If it’s supposed to happen….it will! They are not all taken. Some are growing up into the men they need to be in order to properly lead a family. 😊 (just as I had to grow up 😅)

Mrs Horn, are you "amping up" your natural accent? I know a lot of people with a similar one but it usually fades if you live in another place for a while.
The odd thing is that it is almost a subregional accent in parts of the Midwest/"Old Northwest" and Northwest but is not pervasive.

  • @josephology3290
    @josephology3290 ปีที่แล้ว

Great show! Also your "Ask My Wife Anything!" was fantastic. And like in that video, I bet her "ideal husband" would not have been an "old man" of 80 who was a non-virgin widower already with 6 kids of his own! ;-) She would want 100% of your heart, and not that you gave 100% of your heart to another woman as husband and wife before her. Thus, it is theologically logical I'd say that Joseph was consecrated 100% (not 50% or even 72%) by God for his mission to be the Husband of Mary and the Father of Jesus. He was all in. His one two-fold purpose and mission in life was to be the BEST husband ever and the BEST daddy ever. It's not like Joseph was a part-time husband and daddy. He didn't have any previous "baggage." Even if it was holy "baggage." I mean think about it. If God set you aside (consecrated) to be the husband of the Theotokos and the daddy of Emmanuel, don't you think He would consecrate you for that ONE mission? Not as a second mission in your life when you're 80 years young?! As I did in that other excellent video with your wife (who intelligently adheres to the higher level doctrine of Virgin Joseph as the "common teaching" than the lower level doctrine of "tolerated opinion" as espoused (pun) in the East that you adhere to), I happily challenge you to a fun and friendly debate on this: "Virgin Joseph vs Grandpa Joe". Let's go! :-) #Josephology

I definitely need to work on myself more and really solidify my relationship with God before I get to into a relationship. Hey Trent. Could you make a video on sexual ethics? I would love for someone like you to explain what is and isn’t acceptable during sex for example. I think using naturalist arguments would be better.

Can you guys say why home schooling is the only option (especially in California)? I ask because I am currently dating a Catholic woman who I don’t think would want kids to be homeschooled. Are there any schools that are doable as a practicing Catholic anymore?

As someone who is in a teaching program, I can tell you- your kids WILL be brainwashed in a public school system, it’s very sad- and most Catholic schools (in California) are highly politicized as well and many of the employees are not even Catholic. You may want to look into online school? It’s pretty tough in Cali. I’m thinking of helping people in your situation once I have my degree. Pray pray pray on it

He did a podcast that might be informative on February 4 2021 called Confessions of a Homeschool skeptic.

Catholic heritage curriculum. Chcweb.com. I also live in California and the letters and beginning booklets are excellent. We have one 6 year old that can read small words now and we started with her at 5. Took a bit to laminate the letters with scotch tape. Bless you and good luck.

Cool, I must watch this to know how to raise my very future holy, beautiful fit family by God's grace and Mother Mary's intercession.
    God bless.

Went from truck-driving dudes to a rude, Corolla-driving apologist, and "died" to her idea of an ideal husband after getting married. Maybe that's why Laura doesn't look at Trent the way he does at her.

Regarding praying to find a spouse, it would be nice to be that simple. Sadly, from my experience, praying doesn't really work (maybe it works for saints). I'm a guy in my mid thirties and I started to work on accepting that I will die single. Don't get me wrong, I have my issues (in some way you could say that I'm not your average normal guy) but more than once it felt like God was deaf.

It's obviously not that simple. You have to do your part going out to meet people, God helps those who try.
