I've given the campaign book a quick look. This is a sort of German SAS equivalent - the transports keep the MMGs and can take 4 dudes. They and the infantry have to be vets. The big downside to these units there is no Behind Enemy Lines benefit an neither do the vehicles have recce. Both these are essential to the hit and run play style that I'm fostering with my SAS (when i have a chance to run it!) What's interesting is that the squad is allowed in a GRP if a SS Lt is taken. The special rule states that they have to take the transport would then apply (if four in the squad). If so, you could get a four dude transport with an MMG for a flamethrower team ;) The other point is that each LMGs requires a loader, these have to be designated infantrymen and not the NCO.
I've been running the SS schwimmwagens and their squads for a while and they have been great. Stick a couple of fausts in there to hunt tanks. I disagree with Bo that vet isn't worth it. For a start they have to be vets and also the better morale helps out. I wouldn't bother sticking lmgs in the units or fanatic though.
