Chris I don’t know if you will see this but, I am taking a chance on it. Get yourself some Thermacell products for the mosquitos and no see elms. They are excellent products and have lantern style as well as portable units. They are relatively inexpensive and work. I use them while hunting and camping here in Louisiana and Texas. I really enjoy your work.

Hello Chris, I saw your rig at the NW Overland Rally. It sure was fun! Maybe one day I will see you as well. Perhaps I missed you because of the beard. Safe Travels take your time and enjoy the State.
Greeting Chris! I just noticed that you have only 9,4 thousands subscribers, I wish this number will grow up and good luck to you in the future, thank you for what you do.
Chris, really awesome footage this week of the PNW. Seems just like yesterday you installed those BFGs; your opening showed the wear of sooooo many adventurous miles you’ve endured. Stay safe out there and continue making memories.
Your channel is one of my favourite. Living in Oregon by way of vail ,co.You bring me great memories of traveling through Utah.Have you ever thought of getting a furry friend to keep you company.Keep on jeepin.
Sweet! I live in Leavenworth. And jeep all over the place here. Let me know if you need any pointers. Also, we are in cherry harvest. If you are still around make sure to stop by Smithson fruit stand at the mouth of blewit pass. You can buy some of my cherries! I’m an orchardist
Oh me, Happy, Ethyl and I have just got to get up there!! We come get some cherries!! We're about 3,000 miles away, but retire in May, hope to do lot of travel in my F150 4x4 and get truck popup camper!!
@@takayama1638 I would suggest if you are traveling that much with the misses, you ditch the F150 4x4 and get a proper Motorhome. lol Maybe drag a UTV along behind it that is road legal. :)
Chris, I know EXACTLY where you camped in E. Oregon! I wish I'd known about your channel last year, I'd have played host to my beautiful part of the country. You could easily do several videos on just this county.
saw you walking around with the camera but had no idea who you are LOL . Please say hi next time you see us! Can give you the full tour of our Sprinter DOKA.
Welcome to WA (squall), especially the east side of Cascades (my original home). Nice tree clearing. I am surprised you didn't run into the burn areas above Leavenworth from 2015. Wenatchee (Win-nat-chee). You should have fun with all the Indian names up there. Be sure to go over norther pass top of Cascades HWY20. Since you have your visa going into CANADA would be good also. Or even taking ferry across Pugent Sound to Olympic National Forest (with your park pass). Finding free places to camp might be a problem though on West side of Cascades. Looking forward to more of your adventures. You are doing a great job.

The guy really sounds like the "bincy-bouncy-meatballs" Swedish Chef. We travel with a RTT on a Range Rover and have gone from Turkey to Scandinavia to Northern Africa, but the present political situation keeps us within those boundaries. We really enjoy your vids; we live vicariously through you :-p keep up the good work. Leavenworth really makes me LOL, tho
Hey Chris, hi from Maryland. PA jeep show this year? Also, those look like Rubbermaid roughnecks in the back. Nice tote bin, snap close. Cheers Also, look up Coyote works. Cool TH-camr in that region. Fellow jk owner.
Welcome to the Pacific Northwest. You've met the weather then, I see? Good. It changes on a dime and temperature can often vary as much as 40 °F. We don't faak around in the PNW. We wear layers and carry earplugs. Oh, and always camp in cover. Always, or you are going to pay one way or another. Backpacking maxims work well, from here north. Oh, 9:48 and Wenatchee is "when-ACH-ee" or "when-AT-chee". Why didn't you use the fire ring to make smoke and keep the mosquitoes away? This one is on you. :D
I really enjoy your vids...I just love Fridays, because I get to see your next vid.. Wile your in Wa. State go see MT St Helens. I was here when she went off. and a year later went up and shot photo's then 3 years later and then 10 years later. I was doing a roof in Tacoma and saw the clouds of ash...that was a big day 1980, May 18th. Go the back road by Castle Rock, off I5, the new road was made from some of the ash from the Mt. it sparkles at night. And go see Fresh Water lake.
I hate to burst your bubble, I was just there in the summer of 2018. Boring. Looks like any other forest around here with a well maintained road going up and down. Mt. St. Helens was interesting back in the day. But there should be no disputing how awesome Rainier is. Its roads are windier. They are steeper, they are paved, but in the winter might as well be a set up for tracked vehicles. As for summer time, eh. The beauty of Rainier is in the winter when she has her full coat of snow on. Summer time is great for camping and hiking. No pets allowed on the trails. ;) Paradise has some interesting tourist attractions. And while the lodge is a wee bit expensive with rooms and food, it is worth a look as well. :) And there are of course a lot of places in the PNW that one can go for his type of exploring.
Good to see you in the pnw, if you have time you might enjoy doing parts of wabdr also check in with the crew from mule they are very knowledgeable of the area and probably could point you in the direction of some great places to check out.

You are seriously suggesting he needs to cook other things? He cooks what he wants.(bro) Except pizza. lol For that, the joy of finding a good joint in local towns is the challenge. Honestly, cannot imagine why people feel the need to try and control other peoples eating choices. He was making more palatable choices than I see most people do. But then, I suppose you need to tell them to get a cook book and eat better too. (bro)
Warm weather + camping around water = mosquitoes. But you can blame it on the Pacific Northwest, we have enough people around here as it is! haha. I like your videos, keep em coming.
I already gave another reviewer the history of our Mosquito infestation. How we released them into the area in 1941 when civilian Jeeping became popular. And we wanted to reduce the tourists to our fun times. :)

Nice video.. will follow and subscribed. The problem you had with the rain and wind effect on your pop-up is the reason why Ive been shy to get one for my JK. I know guys swear by them, but concerned about bad weather.. Seems like a good solid tent is always a better way to go. Would love to get your honest input on this. tks
The biggest pro to a rooftop tent is it keeps your gear from touching mud. I run a proper SUV where I can camp inside it. Safe from the bugs, reptiles, mud, rain, wind, hail, snow.. did I miss anything? Probably the only draw back is how much gear one carries with them. However, the roof, instead of a tent, has a cargo carrier basket that makes up the difference. Not to mention if you need even more junk on your travels, you can get a hitch carrier as well. :) I pack light. Emergency gear, recovery gear and food. I don't need all that fancy camper crap packing around with me. If I wanted all that, I would get a camper. ;)
IF your adventures are even less extreme than these, than yes, not a bad plan. But do not expect it to compete with the same terrain. I personally thought his ability to go in and out of the tent from his vehicle was unique and cool. Cannot do that from the SUV's most commonly used for overloading. :) As for putting it away in the rain, that was his choice. He could have tried to wait it out and put it away the next morning. Personally, being from the PNW I would expect that kind of thing and either camped someplace else or solidified my spot with an added rain tarp on top of the tent before I battened down the hatch. lol But he trusted the weather report. So there ya have it. :)
It looks like you could grow an epic moustache to ride along with you on your epic adventure? It’d keep you company etc? Also it could act as an emergency food store. Multiple advantages.
Wait. Got wet in roof top tent?! Not good. I'd have to leave them moskeets. Chris, that was very nice of you not to crunch that chip. Thanks. Wow, I was thinking about getting one of these rooftop Minors. However, after seeing how wet you got for the price of these tents is very discouraging.
While I would not discourage your reasoning, I did not see him get went IN the tent. Only from his time putting it away. Have to go outside to put it away. And it was raining heavily when he did that. And actually, IF I were to buy one, I really thought his was cool because he could crawl into his jeep or vice versa from it. Something one CANNOT do in a typical SUV rooftop tent.
That's where the TRD Off Road 4Runner comes in handy. ;) I have done my share of tenting in my youth. I pretty much am done with it. Unless absolutely need be. lol

Two guesses. 1. the wind noise and flapping were too loud to sleep. 2. It was hot enough to make it uncomfortable to zip the windows up.
