I think it's a good idea that they communicate so that no one walks away feeling bad about the experience. I just hope this doesn't contribute to a culture of shame or over sensitivity to the extent that we treat every potential indiscretion as something egregious. One of those things that could be great, but poorly executed in practice.

If there is a real need for Intimacy Coordinators on a movie set, keep in mind that it is for the equal benefit of both male and female actors.

@@JaneNayes Just 'cause it's the current view doesn't mean it's objectively right. If anything, the fact that we have had over 50 years of movies and shows that have featured actors doing love scenes that hasn't left anyone scarred on most occasions is more proof than anything that we don't need this kind of BS. For every Last Tango in Paris, there are at least 40 or 50 films shot that featured sex and/or nudity that didn't mess anyone's life up. You just never hear about those as the media always likes to cherry pick specific dramatic examples for clickbaity articles.

@@Whoa802 You certaintly can not be the judge of who has been scarred and who has not. Do not comment on something you have no understanding and do not ever presume on the behalf of others. Learn from this and be better. Your train of thought has left you behind.

@@JaneNayes Then what gives YOU the right to judge, then? Are you an actor? Are you a director? Are you a psychologist? Please, enlighten me on what it is that you do for a living.
Also, just because someone doesn't work in a certain field doesn't mean they aren't entitled to their opinion. I may not have worked extensively as a professional actor or filmmaker (have directed some amateur shorts, but that's about it), but it doesn't take any expert knowledge to know just from common sense that there are hundreds of thousands of actors who have done sex and/or nude scenes without intimacy coordinators that did not come out scarred in any way. If that were the case, why would so many actors agree to do those parts to begin with?
Hell, even if it was true that one should only have an opinion if they themselves have worked in that field, you do realize that there do exist actors that actually disagree with the implementation of intimacy coordinators on set, right (Sean Bean, Toni Collette)? I'm willing to bet there's tons more but most are probably just too chicken shit to speak out on the matter out of fear of being cancelled. What do you have to say to that?

@@Whoa802 Yeah, I'm a psychologist so I know better than you. Do not ever presume to know more than experts in a particular field. It's like people who were against vaccination who aren't doctors or scientists. Thier opinions, like yours, don't matter. Guess what, vaccination happened anyway. The quicker you accept this fact, the easier your life will be. Your opinion outside of your realm of expertise is of no consequence to anyone.
