I tried so bad...had a board and stickies and a full outline but I felt so constrained. So I have found a happy medium and make a basic outline-literally a few words about what is happening- with points and fill it in while writing( like Jiayi heals the boy). I am a panty-plotter...LOL
So much of who I am as a person wasn't solidified until my mid to late twenties, so I LOVE that you are exploring that time of life in your writing! :)
Yayy love when you share insights into process/craft! Trying to plot against Save the Cat made me realize that I am not a pure plotter, which came as a shock 😅 but similar to your process, I found that planning around character arcs was what helped me decide what needed to happen to get them to learn what they needed to.
📓 I'm trying out notion with my writing for the first time, I think it's going to make outlining work so much better than my usual method of unordered chicken scratch notes
📒 - This was a good video. Kudos to you and good luck on your nee project. Some of these I do already, but it's always good to get confirmation from another source that you're doing "it right" so to speak. Love love love the idea of a mid twenties coming of age story. That's definitely one I'd love to read. The ghost aspect is an interesting addition. Sounds like you have a hit on your hands. And not to mention the 90s!!! Love that time. - Rhayne
I bought the book and am using your Notion outline. It has helped so much, Thanks! I had all the right beats just needed more structure. I am coming up against my stories vibe changing a bit more than I thought. I also want to maintain how my characters are, only time will tell. 📔

I definitely think writers need to experiment and work out what works for them. Great video!

I love this! As someone who is currently plotting and outlining for the first time ever after already writing 2 drafts this is awesome! 🥰
I think it's so helpful for new writers especially to hear that it is okay for the story to change. I love how accommodating your advice is!! 📓

I really want to be a pantser but if I do too much my brain says "okay, we've done this already, what's next?"
98 pages, 42K words, zero outline (so far). Don't do this like I did. 🤣
