Try chicago screws and some locktite to secure the ends. Chicago screws look like rivets but they have a screw back so you don't need to buy any tools that you would need for regular rivets. Locktite will ensure that the screw won't undo itself.

anyway to show how to do the three slit method? where it gives a longer braid? i know it is only a matter of a third slit but then how do you (fold) or lace the three slits?

What is the tool you used to cut the whole in the leather?
Maybe a good idea to reposition your camera angles to body/arm block. Zooming in on *hand* craft is a good idea too. Good skill..... Bad video.
