    Thor was a blacksmith too.
    Thor's hammer makes "thunder" and "lightning", the sound and sparks of a hammer hitting an anvil.
    The "mith" in blacksmith has same origin as "Mithra" and "Myth". Mi/My = Mercury (Wise god). Th = Thor (creator god).
    So, the "mith" means, wise creator. Thor = Jupiter (sacred metal, TIN), his son Módi = Mars (sacred metal, IRON)

    I'm going to try and make one of these next time i'm out forging. I wear a Mjolnir daily so it would be awesome if it was one that i made myself. Is there a particular advantage to using the Hardy hole tool at 1:50? Can I just use the edge of my anvil? Also Great video! I love the lighting you use now!

    • @lufolkcrafts
      @lufolkcrafts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely, go for it. I got a very special Mjölner I made that I am wearing all the time. You can use the edge of your anvil but you will probably have to draw more material for the shaft of the hammer, otherwise it will be difficult to hold with tongs. But that is the only reason I am using the Hardy Hole tool. I like to be able to hold the Mjölner horizontal in line with my anvil.
      Thank you very much for your feedback!

    I used simple tin melted in a small pot, and poured it into a plaster mold. After the operation, it became very hard and I have been wearing it for years without problems.

    Hello. Can you please tell me the dimensions of the metal sheet. I tried to make the hammer from a round bar 10 mm diameter but I see from a rectangular one it is easy.

    • @lufolkcrafts
      @lufolkcrafts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! For this one I used a 20x5 mm bar.

    I shouldn't watch your videos so close to midnight. You always inspire me to make something and the temptation to go fire up the forge for some late night smithing becomes unbearable.

      Hehe, I hear you. Thank you, I'm happy you are getting inspired. Get dom sleep and take an early forge session instead 😉
