About me:
Hi! My name is Philip and one of the people behind Lufolk. I have always been interested in the simple things in life. When I look back on history I get inspired and fascinated by the people who came up with all the smart solutions to make our everyday life easier. What you can accomplish with a few tools and great skills is impressive. The first time I got that feeling: I made this! This will be useful! Was when I made a wooden spoon as a kid. And think that was the start, I have ever since been interested in making things.

Master of art😉👍👊
Try titanium is much better
Beautiful
Thank you
Thanks for this video, very helpful. Can you tell me, where did you get scrolling tongs?
Good to hear! I bought these from a hardware store, nothing special. But it can also be forged of course :)
I love all your work it's so cool.. Have you ever tried an anchor pendant? I'd love to see how you make that happen - cheers!
Thank you! Makes me happy to hear! Yes I do. I will make a video about it, not sure when but... :)
I love the history of this. I am planning to make one of these for a friends wedding present. I am curious, what size stock are you using in that video and length? Just for reference. I have a bunch of different stuff and i believe i know what i want to use but im not sure if it will be big enough.. Thanks. Great work!
Thanks! If I remember correctly it was 12 x 12 mm and 500 mm long. I drew it out to around 800 mm ( + the wrap around maybe 150 mm) as the ring measures 250 mm in diameter
@@lufolkcrafts awesome! That will help a great deal. Have a great day and Thank you for your art!
@@lokiinthesky511thank you! have a great day! Good luck!
Great work dude 👏👏
Thanks!
A beautiful piece and a beautifully told story. I learned a lot from the forging and the story resonated with my life,
thank you very much! Keep it up!
Beautiful work, and equally beautiful words; thank you
Thank you!
I really enjoyed watching this ‘’butterfly striker’’ being created. It’s really a beautiful piece of work. 👍👍👍 You have the hands of a magician. I can’t wait to use this striker, it’s beautiful. ❤❤❤
Thank you very much!
Beautiful patterning in the wing!
Thank you!
Mind if I use this idea my friend
sure, go for it! :)
@@lufolkcrafts thank you my friend
A beautiful story, well told. I could have listened for hours. The craftsmanship in the feather was a delight to see. Thank you. I hope your channel blooms and brings you the audience and sales that you deserve
Thank you so much!
Love the pendant. I might adapt this to some Viking shield pendants.
Cool idea! Thanks!
Excellent! Thank you. Great tip re the note pad. I'm going to start using the pad and also draw the items to scale to make it easier to reproduce accurately.
very good :)
A man in the woods, reminiscing of his youth, With such poetry, always acknowledges the truth.
Incredible work as always 👍👍
Thank you!
Great story and a powerful lesson.
thank you! Glad to hear that you like it!
Very nice , I like the story line and the pendent is amazing . cheers . 👍🤠
Thank you! :)
I can order one? How?
You can find it over at my website.
I love your work and your art style. Very fine craftmanship. It would be an honor to be your apprentice. Can a person buy your art?
Thank you very much! I do have a website where I have my craft
I've dedicated some hours of study to your works, technique, tools, tips. I am still a beginner, sometimes I feel lost at this, don't know where to put my focusing. But thanks to people like you, many like me can have guidance to start a project, fail, fail better, and then with fair effort and discipline, obtain good results. Thank you mate. Good vibes from Costa Rica
Thank you for your kind words. I started just like you and now it is my turn to give back :)
Agree totally. So good for learners like me to be able to put these on repeat before we go out and attempt it ourselves. The two cameras worked fine for me.
That's fun to watch!
Great to hear! Thanks for the feedback!
Great work as always!
Thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
Looks nice! Very nice work!
Thank you!
Показал бы ещё как крутил кольцо
I used scrolling tongs.
Love your work, and am trying to learn from you, can you tell me the size of the material you start with? also I want to help suport your channel, how does one go about doing that?
Thank you so much! It means a lot! You can visit my website and see if you find something interesting. I also do custom orders and would be honored to forge one for you ;)
@@lufolkcrafts you are more than welcome, I still am confused as to the material size. I am guessing it is 3/4 inch wide by 1/4 inch thick? I have been working with steel for 55 years, now that I am retired I am trying to learn the blacksmithing trade. also is this the best way to support your channel?
@@terencegill1753 sorry, yes, that is correct measures. 20 mm wide and 5 mm thick. Any kind of support is highly appreciated. Spreading the word, your donation here on TH-cam is very helpful, all orders are my income. I am doing this as a way to give back. I started with forging about 13 years ago and learned mainly through TH-cam. Now it is my turn to forward the knowledge.
Very nice , I like the pendents you make . 👍😁🤠
Thank you! :)
So real for this
Would you be willing to show us how you forged that bracelet you’re wearing?
If I make another one I would be happy to do so :)
Thank you.
Hell yes, beautiful job.
Thank you!
Full tang always Any other tangs are all rat tail tangs and will not serve you. So FULL TANG™️ always
kinda look very impressive
Thank you!
Your videos are always enjoyable to watch. I have never forged anything, but I watch and pay close attention to how the metal reacts as you proceed. Thanks! The iron Hammer pendant I've made was cut cold from a piece of scrap, at my friend's motorcycle shop. I roughly shaped it with a saw, then a stone wheel, a rotary tool, and then metal files, and eventually, various grades of sand paper. I looks very good I think, but someday I'd like to forge one.
good to hear you enjoy. I can highly recommend forging!
Another excellent video, you make it look easy! 😄 Thank you for sharing your techniques.
Thank yuo!
Great work 👍👍
Thank you!
Number two
Really simple and handsome design. I learn a lot about my anvil and hammer blows from watching you work. Always a great experience. Using high carbon steel, and a nice stiff water quench, this design could make a decent flint striker
Good to hear! Yes, see my previous video, there i forge a mjölner flint striker :)
Always love watching your creation process. Thank you for sharing it with the world.
Great to hear! Thank you, my pleasure.
What pound hammer do you recommend?
I am using a 1 kg / 2.2 pound hammer most of the time.
Stunning piece! Great work as always!
Thank you very much!
heill ok sæll brother Very beautiful work
Thanks!

Excellent work! Thanks so much for sharing, I love watching your technique! 😀
Thank you!
Nice work dude 👏👏
Thank you!
I love it!
thanks!
Looks like it throws a good spark! Nice work! My strikers aren't quite that elaborate. Although, I'll continue to work on it!
Thanks! I am using 1095 and quench in water and it seems to work very well.
@@lufolkcrafts Thank you for that information... That's what I use too.
A mjolnir striker? You can't ask for anything better🤌. truly amazing work as always my brother
Thanks brother!
Such an incredible work of art Philip! I love the history behind oath rings. To me the symbolism behind them is far more valuable than any spoken promise.
Thanks!
