Funny thing might be, that most of the ppl who are not familiar with Talal might only know him from the bluff clip with DNegs, which might leave kinda wrong impression about his skills, while in fact he is one of the best non-pro player in the world.
Why do you think llimit stuff is so painful, as you put it? Fewer interesting decisions, more/less skill involved, more/less luck involved, don't understand it, not familiar with it, just uncommon, what about it makes it painful? Before the early-mid 2000s, the vast majority of games dealt in casinos were limit games.
The commentators explain which 9 games they are playing a few times. Not sure if they do so at the very beginning of the video which would be the most obvious place for the information to be. But if you look, on the table there is a black rectangular placard saying the game that is currently being dealt at any given moment. I.e. if they are playing Razz, the placard will say "Razz", and it's placed on the table so that when the camera is showing the bird-eyes angle, the placard is visible to the video watcher.
Lots of play in limit mixed games, which the PPC consists mostly of. Big stacks. Limits. Split pots. Plus the fact most of these mixed games take longer to deal than straight up NL.

Spending an inordinate amount of coverage on non-standard games. Poker-Go very fem in its coverage. 99% of world plays NLH or LH. Respect your demographic.
I enjoy stud and lowball games a lot, and would be very sad if they had no coverage. If you don't, may i suggest skipping them - there's more than enough Texas hold'em tournaments to watch. Also you're definitely wrong on 99%. PLO alone has at least 5-10%.
You will be very happy to find that there are dozens and dozens and dozens of NLHE tournaments where the coverage is strictly 100% NLHE coverage. This tournament is a mix of 9 games being dealt. So that's what it shows. Because that's what it should show. If you are unable to find a NLHE video to watch, somebody will be able to help you I am sure. LHE isn't as easy, that part is closer to true.

It is designed to take a long time. This tournament is supposed to give skill more opportunity to take effect.
