      It is 1914 all over again. Young people seem to be genuinely pushing for war. Which may not come surprising as this age group has been generally susceptible for falling for tales about good and evil and hence has been always rather easily convinced to join a fight instead of trying to negotiate, even if it was for a necessary bad deal. Growing up in today’s faceless, remote digital interaction and 2 years of pandemic isolation boredom must not have been helpful either. Young people probably never in history had this much influence and power in shaping their future as they have now. And look what they are doing with it cheering and pushing for war.

    Ex British soldier here. Seeing the sheer size and capabilities of the US military logistics machine is a sight to behold. Nobody does logistics like the US can and as it's the single most important task of any military it is exactly why in most cases the US would prevail. Providing you can keep the gobshite politicians out of the way and quiet. Once they get involved everybody gets fucked no matter how effective the logistics.

    Kind of explains how the Abrams MBTs will get moved across Europe reasonably quickly and efficiently, along with the Bradleys and anything else in the heavy armoured vehicle category, including Leopard 2s.

    • @noobster4779
      @noobster4779 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Or, like every army ever....they could use trains to transport tanks
      Transporting 70 ton tanks isnt some high magic, it happens all the time over europe. You only use the trucks for the "final step" from the train station to the barracks.
      So if the USA would want to deliver tanks to Ukraine they only have to put Abrams on a ship (any civilian freight ship could do that no problem), sail to Amsterdam, put it on a train and then to the Ukranian border.
      The US military needs to stop acting as if europe is the Kuwait desert...there is a shitload of logistical infrastructure here and nearly every country has the means to transport heavy vehicles like MBTs....because they use Leopard 2s....that are barely lighter then then Abrams.
      And if the USA would want to help Ukraine ASAP they could just fly tanks to the polish ukranian border by transport planes. Again, its not that hard.
      The US military has amde up all kinds of redicilous excuses to not send Abrams to Ukraine and now they are hiding behind "our 40 year old uranium armor is top secret" bullshit....Moscow and Beijing have their blueprints for decades.
      Instead there are still 2000+ Abrams in the texan desert while ukraine gets slaughtered day after day....

And, countries like Poland are probably in a position to possibly transport some Leopards even earlier. Order them carc green and they'll come in green. The M1300 is an upgraded HET A1. Light-weighted with a 2 speed transfer case. Increased payload and European road standards drove the upgrades. Seen an article from Rhode Island that showed the lesser HET A0 hauling a very large generator for a load of 150 tons. They were hauling illegally and crossed several bridges that were not rated for the weight.

    As a former US soldier who served during the '90s, I am proud to see the number of women serving in the Army performing these physically demanding jobs, and hope it reflects reality, and not just for show. I sincerely believe women should be able to occupy any MOS they are capable of performing, no different than men. Jobs should have objective requirements that reflect reality, and should be open to all those who can meet those requirements, be they combat or support. Everyone should have the opportunity to serve their country in the matter they are capable.

      The US and NATO lost this war in the first weeks when the rest of the world gave a big middle finger to them and did not sanction Russia. There was no plan B and so weapon deliveries are just there to gain time to come up with a solution that will make it seem less like yet another loss.

      I can be wrong but i'm assuming maybe for easier loading onto the trailer ( 7:17 ) the angle is smooth with bigger tires it would have a steeper angle. Also, with smaller tires, the overall height of the tank on the trailer is better for passing under bridge, since those truck are meant to transport tanks in the city.

      Each tank requires about 3 or 4 support vehicles of different types. Don't know if those support vehicles will simply be driven individually or be transported as well.
      And don't forget all those Bradleys that need to be transported, in fact Bradleys are shown numerous times in this video. Don't know how the Leopards and Marders are being transported, their needs are similar although not quite as extreme as what is required to transport the Abrams.
