I'm studying paging and I can't understand the concept of logical address. When I say that the CPU gives the logical address of a program do I mean to say that the CPU gives the address in the secondary memory where the program is stored?
No Revathy. You can better understand using this example. Logical Address (Aadhar VID): An individual generates a temporary Aadhar VID for a specific transaction (e.g., KYC verification for a bank account). This VID is not the permanent Aadhar number but alias to the same record in UIDAI's database. Physical Address (Aadhar Number): The Aadhar number is the permanent, unique identifier associated with the individual's complete Aadhar record in UIDAI's database. This is the address in main memory.
It will be very in depth MMU function. So wont be able to cover now. How ever you can refer www.geeksforgeeks.org/logical-and-physical-address-in-operating-system/ and other articles to get more in depth knowledge.@@Revathy84
