The energy of NYC and the surrounding areas is very masculine. Born and raised there. Even when we don’t want to, we have to match that energy out of protecting ourselves. I live down south now and it definitely mellowed me out. But, I’m in NY for the holidays and last night a guy was standing on the corner counting his money, seen me and said hey. My response was a rigid “what up” and I kept it pushing. His energy didn’t feel safe to me so I immediately went into masculine mode.
It is what it is 🤷🏽‍♀️

Nah it’s really. I grew up in the Bx and Manhattan and lived in NYC for 36 years. Moved out 6 years ago to Tx and it’s much different up north. I think we act way too masculine because we are always surrounded by wayyyyyy too many people.

I'm from Nashville and just came from up there for a few days. I guess I successfully evaded those ones; but I was mostly in Manhattan and Jersey. And when I did go up to Harlem for Armature Night at the Apollo I was with a chick from Africa. Pretty much over American chicks. That's why I be trying to put dudes up on knowledge on my channel.
I touched down in Brooklyn for the first time when was up there this trip. In the area of Barclays Center.

There are masculine aggressive women everywhere. But i think NYC and east coast women in general are famous for carrying that rep with them wherever they go. I used to date a sista from Northern California who was aggressive and masculine. But at the same time, she’s a sweetheart. Sex was great and she even cooked for me. Nonetheless, I had to stop messing with her just for my safety and mental health. Even though she was doing those nice things for me, she still walks around with a chip on her shoulder as if she’s ready to pop off viciously at the drop of a hat.
