- After a ceremonial welcome on Horse Guards Parade HM The Queen and Señor Enrique Pena Nieto President of Mexico travel in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach to Buckingham Palace followed by the Australian State coach and five other coaches .
Also on the Mall were the Coldstream Guards , the Welsh Guards and the Household Cavalry .
Finally after firing a 41 gun salute in Green Park The Kings Troop , Royal Horse Artillery come down the Mall to complete the day .

Boy, those horses were, as we say here in the US, were sure full of spit and vinegar! They all wanted to run, and one even unseated his rider. Fine horsemanship, keeping that lot in order!

British ceremonial occasions are mind-bogglingly complex, incredible, impressive and beautiful; they're a marvel to watch, especially the units on horseback - simply amazing; no country anywhere, including my own, does this kind of pomp and pageantry better.
and yet theres people here who want to rid of this! Even talks about prince Charles not wanting a traditional ceremony for his ascension to the throne including other religions for inclusivity and ridding some of the christian parts and not as many soldiers on the parades ect!

+Mr Smith I love the UK and wish we could afford to visit more often. One of the state coaches was a gift of our Government and the other was purchased by the UK. The very talented coachmaker is Australian and he made both of them. This year and next year, Australia is losing whatever car industry we once had (locally made GM, Ford and Toyota vehicles will no longer be produced), so that shows how clever we are!

@@robertmwoodley1502 Of course you are. When I lived in Oz (1950s) everyone had a thing called a Holden (invariably white, which could cause difficulty in big car parks). What happened to them?
@@hermoglyph2255 As of 2017-2018 no cars are built in Australia anymore - wages too high and market too small. The Holden is now a rebadged European GM Opel or Vauxhall. (Just rubbish for our harsh conditions)

What a beautiful RR
It's the oldest in the Royal Mews. Commissioned in 1948 as a private car for the then Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip. It became the first Rolls Royce in the state fleet in 1952. It's also the first Phantom IV built. Still going, Prince Charles particularly likes it. Although the chauffeurs say that they have to plan braking well in advance, it's outlived a couple of the later Phantom v limousines.

When you have a lot of horses together like they can feed on each others emotions and just get more and more distressed
I have never seen the Guards horses behave like that. There is sometimes one or two that are not calm, but seeing so many of them misbehaving, is weird. Even some of the greys were a bit skittish.
I remember one procession when one of the Clydesdale drum horses behaved so badly that he was led down a side street with a police escort.

@Rachel Dane Don't know where you are, or how much you work with horses, but these horses have most love, attention and a special bond with their riders. For some reason they are being spooked a bit today but they are not abused. And if you are one of those PETA morons....get a life. PETA ain't for animal welfare, they are simply a bunch of moronic do gooder zealots who believe in a sky fairy, are vegan and a danger to us all. For your information, the military use animals for various functions, but only dogs are used in war zones, those cavalry blacks get a paid four week vacation out to pasture, they go to the beach, get hacked throughout the countryside on a regular basis without all the fussy trappings. They are not abused at all.
@Rachel Dane It is FROTHING. It is absolutely normal for a horse to secrete foamy saliva during physical exertion. In fact, this is often considered a positive physical trait because it indicates the horse is relaxed and being ridden correctly. In horses that are tense or have bad posture, the salivary duct is inhibited and their mouth dries out. They also use a double bridle for more control and both rider and horse must be very well trained in the use of these, lest they hurt the horse. Those horses are expensive and when their best service days are behind them, they are put out to pasture. The horses are doted on, washed, fed, cleaned daily. I would suggest that you watch the TH-cam series on The QUeen's Cavalry. Mostly they are geldings bred specifically in Ireland for the British Army.

The spurs are part of the uniform, they don't actually use them. You see the same thing at all equestrian events across the globe where spurs are part of the standard/traditional uniforms but they aren't used, they are purely ceremonial. They are wielding swords as well, but they aren't stabbing people as they walk by because it's purely about looks, presentation, and ceremony.
A horse frothing at the mouth is not a bad thing. It is usually a sign of trust, submission, and proper bonding with the rider. In equestrian events like dressage, if your horse is frothing at the mouth it is looked on positively and there are different opinions from riders as to whether it is better to wipe that froth off their chests before going out to perform or to leave it there because they have to choose between a more "perfect" and clean appearance, or leaving the froth to indicate the horse is relaxed and well adjusted.
So for the love of god, don't be like one of those dumbasses from PETA who thinks every single animal on the planet is being abused when they know absolutely nothing about the animals they're talking about. Those horses are treated extremely well and the Queen herself LOVES horses, they would not remain in the household cavalry if they were harming their horses.
