Best channel for truck review from somebody who actually owns and use the trucks they review. Cummins brought me here. The honesty and experience of this guy is why I stayed.
What is interesting about the block heater option. The block heater is factory installed in all Cummins engines. The option you got is for a factory installed cable. I look forward to the ZF 8 speed. My wife's 2018 Ram 2500 4wd 6.7L only has 42k miles. I was considering an Allison swap, but the ZF seems better. I put a 4Wheel Popup camper on it. It is now to tall to fit in the parking garage at places my wife goes. So I bought a Jeep Wrangler JLU for adventure trips and local trips. The 3.42 gear ratio is okay for fuel economy. We got 26mpg average on a 6k mile trip before the camper. We now get 17mpg with the camper and towing the Jeep, based on a trip from Lancaster, CA to Rathdrum, ID and back. The 2 extra gears on the lower end will allow the engine to stay in the sweet spot in more situations.
I’m glad that he is not talking about you should remote start your diesel truck or not or with these truck is better with remote start. I thought this stuff crazy.
Its good to see someone else besides me knows that Carli recommends a higher air pressure in the front vs rear. Mine are at 52F 46R. I added the Carli shackle try that on the new truck makes a big difference unless you get the bag set up. I have the 7.3 and I am anxious to see what powertrain gas is in the 25 ram.
The only thing I’m confused with is he already has a 2024 but wants a new 2025. It’s cool. Get what you want. Hopefully there are not to many recalls. Nothing like paying $103k for a $65k truck.
@ Oh I got ya sir. It’s your money. You work hard for it so you spend it how ever you like. It will be nice to see the 8spd in the Ram HD line up. It is way overdue. I still have my 2005 Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 Cummins 4spd auto. It was my dad’s. I lost him 2 years ago. We built it on line together and then went and pick it up about 2 months later. I sold my 2015 Ram because I didn’t have the heat to let my dad’s truck go. I can’t wait to see your new truck.
Why do people hate the Rambox? Who and why don't you want additional storage??? In-bed toolbox sucks. It takes up bed space and you can't reach half the stuff. Tool box in the bed rails is absolutely awesome. And even if you didn't use it, WHY would you go out your way to have it removed?? It makes zero sense. I think i saw one person complain about how it looked. To me, it looks better than a plain, empty rail. I dont care what it looks like anyway bc the functionality way outweighs that. No body cares what your truck looks like anyway. If you think people are worried about what your truck bed looks like, you are full of yourself.
I really like ramboxes.. Fifth wheels only have one option with sidewinder and I don’t like the tongue pull tendencies from moving back the pivot point.
I’m going to get this video done in January.. Going to be unbiased and go thru categories and rate them. These categories will be for example power, towing, comfort, and technology. I will also be going into detail on the decisions. I wanted to own all three 24 models to make the comparison..
Rocky, i dont know if i missed it in the video, but what rear end are they running with the new ZF 8speed. Are they staying with the 3.73, or are they going to a 3.42 or a 3 55.
Thanks for the video. Wanting a fairly similar setup as your goal. 3500 srw megacab with a nicer ride. Due to living in California, probably going to have to wait for a gas engine version. Would be cool if they drop in the Cummins octane engine that uses the same engine block as the diesel.
What would you do if you had a flat or blowout on your truck towing your camper cross country? 37” tires and 33” spare lol I have the same issue. I have 37’s and put a 35” spare under there it about touches my tail pipe (had to remove the heat shield)
Glad to someone has enough money to purchase one of these overpriced terds, even if I had the money out of principle I would not pay that much for a pickup.
Agree but payload is less than half ton on 2500. Payload on mega diesel is usually around 1700 pounds.. If you go over that air suspension will throw a code and shut down.
you can also let off the throttle peddle the weight of the trailer and loss of power will slow the truck down if on level ground going down hill different story
When you do the comparison video, please include recalls, repairs, tire and brake wear if you go enough miles. My 2005, ram 3500, 4WD, SRW, Cummins, auto trans Laramie quad cab, solid truck except, rides rough and in heavy snow defroster ductwork is placed too far back from base of windshield and snow and ice will accumulate causing the windshield wipers to clunk wiping into the iceberg.
Get a Carli pin top or the electronic king set up from Carli check out Cjc off-road you won’t regret the best Suspension you’ve ever had on a ram truck
I have a 2020 3500 HO. I have a thuren 2.25" that came out to 2.75". I put both the carli add a pack and the 1" carli block in the rear. With all 4 corners fox resi shocks. Rides pretty much like a half ton and still hauls like a 1 ton. I'd recommend getting the block with the add a leafs because buying it separately if you need it costs more.
I have a 2" level, 2' rear block and 22x10s on 35s on my 24 3500 Laramie and it does better mpg wise than my 24 Silverado HC Duramax did in stock form.
Why would u buy a ram? Theve done NOTHING i 11 yrs. Same ol cab, drivetrain. Im a ram guy and didnt even consider ram. I bought a 24 f350 tremor. 6.7 ho. Best move ive made
Yeah Ford and GM both rule the recall list thats why people buy Rams HD the lowest recall trucks and if you work them with heavy towing they last the longest those who know know why Ram.
The ford is definitely a nice truck. It is probably my number one recommendation when someone ask me what to buy. I have had a lot of them.. I had 22 platinum, 23 Lariat, 23 platinum, and 24 Limited. All of these are good trucks with my 17 King Ranch and 22 Platinum my all time favorite trucks. Ford has added a lot of features but I do feel quality has came down since 17-22 model.. For example they got rid of adaptive steering. Ram still has them beat with interior.. Ford still has lots of plastic. The HO motor is a beast but the shifting software on 23-25 models is not my favorite. I think these trucks are all at a hp peak. The focus moving forward is how well the power is delivered by smooth shifting, exhaust brake, and ride quality while maintaining payload. They still have some small details to work out for example diesel measurements locks up on cluster when in tow haul with car play connected. I had four trucks with same issue. The ten speed hunts for gears when towing. GM prob has the best shifting 10 speed but the solid plungers in the valve body is taking those transmissions out. I personally think these trucks eight speed will be the best in the market for towing. This will bring the exhaust brake back to the table and keep diesel engines in the target rpm for power. All of this is my opinion and the video I will release will have all pros and cons of these. I am not just a dealership reviewer of these trucks. I buy them, add 37’s and lift, and work them.

I test the axles for these trucks. We are still making the srw air suspension axles so I'm guessing it will be a later option.
@@loveracing1988 Good to know.. I think it’s one of the best features offered..
Looking forward to the comparison!! Can you please include your opinion on seat comfort and just daily driving comfort?
DAMN ROCKY RUNNIN THRU trucks like i change undies.... always gettin dem new trucks and suppin them up...
Yeah.. I didn’t think I would have that many in 24.. Planning to slow down for 25.. I think I’m really going to like the Ram.
Ram any day over ford or Chevy. Its a real big rig engine. 6 speed is great in Cummins. 8 speed has to prove itself.
I’m glad that he is not talking about you should remote start your diesel truck or not or with these truck is better with remote start. I thought this stuff crazy.

@RockyRohde I look forward to the build. Happy New Year!

RAM are the best no doubt about it boys you made a good choice
When you learn how to downshift it only enhances the toll experience trust me I’ve had four of these !

With 37’s I’m getting about 14 mixed driving.. highway stretch 15-16

The different size spare will have to go on the front.. You will probably get abs light but it will work.. Both rear need to be the same size.

Air suspension is why I ordered a 2500 instead of 3500. I have a 22 dually for heavy towing.

@@RockyRohde100% agree the Ford interior is no where near the level of Ram, extremely cheap feeling in comparison
More fashionable changes equate to higher prices. Now that Carlos Tavares is gone. Ram has a lower MSRP and the discounts are back!
That's why people buy them, there isn't so much stuff to break.
Unreal dedication to junk
My 20 year old LLY will beat that EPA filed garbage in every class. At half the cost. Doesn’t have a CP4 or stupid grid heater.
Ok but it won't tho😂😂you can think that all you want but in reality an old lly has nothing on the new trucks in any class whatsoever.
The 2025 has no grid heater and an updated version of fuel pump. Yeah I have had many Duramax.. It won’t touch that ford HO towing 20k ever..
except looks, comfort, towing, power and technolgy. but yours is paid for so you got that
