HULU Circle Dance

Choreographer Ira Weisburd learned HULU back in 1987 in New Zealand in a folkdance class he was giving a workshop to. He introduced it in the U.S. to the International Folkdancers and it has remained a popular beginner circle dance all these years. This was filmed in Ira's Margate International Folkdance Class.

this tune belongs to an old israeli dance by the name of "hora shel sarid" the steps are a little bit different and the name hulu is almost the same as the first line:" chulu na chulo na....."
