- Google are releasing a brand new streaming device in 2024 called the Google TV Streamer. It's different to other devices from Google like the Chromecast with Google TV and looks like it could be very popular.

$100 for a lackluster processor & you don't even bother putting an HDMI cable (that is REQUIRED for usage) in the box? Seriously? Devices that cost $20 have included cables, what are you thinking?
Most households have a spare HDMI cable lying round. Packing one into the box just increases the price.
@@LukeVesty any $19 stick has in the box all the cables in the world!
@bobbylane
Definitely priced more than it should be. For $100, they should have used a better SoC and included at least another USB port.
I will stick with the cheaper Onn 4k Pro from Walmart. Only $50.
@@freespeechadvocate7492 not only the UK europe as whole is hellhole
Doesn't bring enough to the table for me @$100 , I'll stick with my firestick max
I have the Chromecast with Google TV, but I have the ethernet adapter and I play local files from a drive plugged into my router. This loads as a network drive in VLC. After some of it's updates the Chromecast finally did surround sound properly. The only problem is lack of space for apps. The better Google Home integration in the new streamer might be good, but the colour of the box is an odd choice. All my TV equipment is black. Its going to look silly next to it.
me i use a hub and add a usb key to add storage so you can install android app on it.
No extra USB port, I'm guessing no ootb support for iplayer channel4 etc. You may position it where the sun don't shine.
Thanks ADAM. Much appreciated. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible day. Much love and RESPECT
Cheers bud 🍻
still no comparison to the shield... and no expandable storage?? whats up with that
It has via otg
Cheers for the update dude, great content as always 👍 hope you and the family are all good and enjoying some decent weather for a change 😉 🍺 ta-ra
Doing great bud thanks. Hope you’re well 🍻
@@FreeTech good to hear you’re all ok, all good here cheers buddy 👍 🍻
Very happy. Got a date with a girl who identified as a dustbin. Can't remember if I'm taking her out on Tuesday or Wednesday!
Haha
Good video Free Tech could be a good device cheers for the info.🍻
The processor is the biggest let-down! Only 22% faster, even after all these years and double the price just for a few extra features!
You look like Richard Dreyfuss when a UFO was above his pickup truck in the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind".
Don't think ill jump for one yet. I still like shield.
Chrome main chip is not new though.
🙏🙏
It's a bit ridiculous that major companies are still putting out devices without enough USB ports. I know buying an adapter to add ports is an option but we all know they did that so in a year they can release a "Pro" model with external storage capacity built in.
y forgot no hdmi either and i think y can not say hay google lol
At least they included USB 3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet standards, which is a step up from what other companies have done recently.
Guess it was just too much to ask for a decent, fairly new SoC plus an extra USB C 3.1 port and a USB A 3.1 port.
Great video and very informative as always thanks mate 🍻
good vid mucker.. interesting piece of kit..👍
If it has google play store and ability to side load apps like syncler etc this could well replace my shield to pro
I just pre-ordered it just in time for Christmas 🤗🤗
Well, back to the drawing board.
Buying one
does it support TrueHD? Important for your home cinema. If not you still need the Nvidia Shield!
Cracking on....😁😁😁👍👍👍
Going to see how it handles Stremio before deciding
Doesn't have a UK release I'm conflicted on whether to replace fire tv cube with this
Great video thanks
As long as this thing is smooth and snappy, and has frame rate/refresh rate matching that actually works, it's a certain buy for me.
What will I do with the 6 firesticks, ONN, Google dongle, And my old cheap streaming boxes?
have giveaway lol or nice to someone lol opps Amazon does have return for devices. not sure its worth it
Program and sell em. Can mark the value up alot. I'm getting 150 for the original ONN Box. 👍🏽✊🏽👊🏽🍺☺💯
I expected it to have 4k 120 fps, but it came with the same as the previous 4k 60fps
As long as it’s snappy and doesn’t stutter playing Dolby movies, then who cares? I had an Nvidia Shield before and it became very laggy over time and the UI and remote were awful, and it didn’t support Dolby Vision. I much prefer the GTV UI with smart home integration
Can you download from unknown sources with it having 32gig storage ?
❤❤❤❤ super cool
Boom 💥
Adam, you gonna do a giveaway of your old chromecast?
So can I still remote play my ps5?
Sorry but apart from having white as a colour, I hate the idea of it. The main thing about the existing dongle thing, is that it sits hidden away from view. You could still try and hide this from view, but a lot more clumbsy to do so. In my point of view, Google TV is a waste of money despite me buying it to pair with my mobile phone. The movies are far too expensive which makes the Amazon device a lot better if you pay for Amazon Prime. I had high hopes for Google, but I left disappointed and I have not used either one of them since, preferring to hook up a PC to the TV.
In the United States of America the Onn 4k pro has close to the same specs plus a usb port and built in speaker for 50 dollars. Google asking 100 for half the device of the Onn makes no sense whatsoever and I have no reason to buy the Google streamer over my Onn 4k pro. You should see if you can import the Onn 4k pro.
@@InBodWeTrust I didn't know that. You can't just run a VPN and change your server location to get what you want?
1 gb of ram and no USB ports and somehow it's $50 more than the Onn 4k pro? Nah. They can do better than this.
I just bought onn 4k pro it has one USB Port so I can add more memory, $49.88, plus taxes
@@israeljaimes6497 you can hook up a powered usb hard drive and make a little home theater hub
@@InBodWeTrust you can mirror your phone which you can put the apps on
Love buy one googlevtv streamer that awesome love it get one soon

You said it doesn't support Wi-Fi 6 I have Wi-Fi 6 will it automatically step down
Yes it will be compatible with Wi-Fi 6 Routers
But it’s not stick to the shield
20% processor bump and double the price.
If you have the Google 4K dongle and USB Hub you don't need it ..
No usb port
I bought onn 4k pro from Walmart it has one USB port $49.88, you can add more USB ports by buying a USB hub
Hey Google
How much does invest in one of these
£100
The processor is the big letdown with the Google streaming device
Have WiFi 6 and av1 Codec ?
Only WiFi 5 but I believe it does support AV1 Codec.
@@Mr01dschool yes i Look av1 ready but No WiFi 6 ! WiFi 5 is No OK in year 2024
Can you sideload?
yup

The only issue I have with the Android remotes is the lack of the play/pause button.
Tap the ok button to pause google tv
@@wade196840 You have press that button twice when using the YT app.
use 1 off yr other remotes y have Or Button mapper lol
It’s 129.99 in Canada plus tax no thanks.Over priced I’m sticking with the shield
I get what you are saying but for example I use the Fire Cube 3rd gen for $140 and works FLAWLESS with the Amazon eco system and has video up scaling and image quality settings to make the video look even better AND has TOTAL voice control of my devices and HAS a USB port on the back for additional storage and to power other devices as well. It really depends on the user at this point as to you are Google or Amazon and for me I'm Amazon as it works with my Ring alarm and can do MANY functions via. voice that Google will never do! I think corporate GREED is behind this new "box" as Google routines seem to less and less stable and reliable lately.
Wish it had a Gigabit Ethernet port or at least a USB 3.0 port. Still don't understand how a company in 2022 (when the Cube 3 was realesed) would use obsolete ports like USB 2.0 and Fast Ethernet 10/100.
@@Mr01dschool ; I have WiFi 6 so "speed" is NOT an issue for streaming. As far as the USB port I have TONS of music and movies stored and a USB stick plugged into the back and is plenty fast enough with maybe an occasional hick-up here or there but pretty rare. I don't leave TONS of apps running in the background either which also helps big-time. Yeah the Amazon Cube is "pricey" but having one for over a year now it beats Firesticks hands down for me as I've tried MANY other options but NOT the Nvidia shield which on paper is even better.
@johnszatkowski6898
Glad it works for you. Personally, I prefer to hardwire all my stationary devices. Also, a hardwired Gigabit connection helps when playing high bitrate videos from my local media server.
I still don't understand why companies don't use the more recent standards. USB 3.0 has been available for almost two decades. USB 4.0 is becoming the new standard. Absolutely zero reason for companies to keep USB 2.0 ports alive. Same goes for Fast Ethernet 10/100 ports. Gigabit Ethernet has been around for over two decades. 10 Gigabit ports will start becoming the new standard. 10/100 ports should have been phased out years ago.
@johnszatkowski6898
I have an Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 but it does not support some newer codecs such as AV1. So hoping that Nvidia releases a new model at some point. Seems unlikely at this time, but you never know.
@@Mr01dschool ; Yeah! I totally get what you are saying about the USB ports! Like I said WiFi 6 is fast and streaming videos has never been an issue for me even at 300Mbs internet service which is PLENTY BTW. But streaming music (MP3's) or video the USB port still had no issues on the Firecube 3rd gen. I had MANY issues on previous Fire Sticks with the network cable setup and was lagging AF for me. NOT saying the FireCube 3rd gen is the "greatest" thing there ever was but, it's working really good for me and my setup.
Great video, do you know if you can get freeview on it?
i went to a sad wedding the other day even the cake was in tiers
I'm pretty sure you have no idea the difference between Google TV and Android TV
I don't like it tbh.
To expensive.
To slow with 3 year old CPU, instead of a proper current one.
No HDMI cable.
Not hidable behind the TV.
With Google becoming more and more controlling especially showing their true colours with YT by constantly trying to stop ad free. I know it helps channels like yourself but it's just the browser most people like using for security.
No Way

Did you hear about the local police station? All their toilets got stolen but they gave up the chase? They had nothing to go on.🤣🤣🤣
Wheres the 2.4G wifi,i want to stream from prison, rocteck G2 64G of storage with a bit more flamboyance for the same price
Only 22% faster, $99, and no OK Google capability?? PASS
lol
Google should have thought of Apple TV 4K before deciding on spec for this shit... wifi 5 in 2024? when we are expecting wifi 8 launch.. Google is failing in all department with this device.. can pay max of $20 for this device

Its like Google thinks they can put their name on any piece of crap and people will jump at it. This effort looks like they just threw together a whole bunch of old outdated parts they had laying around. Hold out for something better. Even the cheap chinese crap on ali express is better than this.
Na, not for £100
Good video trash product. Still doesnt support av1 the original chrome cast did then they made a newer one calle it HD used worse parts and called it HD4k but didnt advertise the loss of performince or features
Load of rubbish I certainly wouldn’t be buying one, housing only a 2021 Mediateck SoC processor, Most new Android or Google smart Tv’s come with better processors than that, why google couldn’t put in the Google manufactured Tensor G2 processor from the Pixel 6&7 series into it is beyond me, most people that actually need to or want to buy one of these would spend Apple TV money for one, if they knew it was powerful, reliable, and had a good lifecycle. Google wasted a great opportunity to use the last generation Tensor processors in this device, and future proof the technology for a few years ahead.
Nope!!!
Wait a sec! They want to charge 100.00 for a device and not include a HDMI cord? That is so jacked up in many ways! Just for that, I wouldn't even consider buying this if I wanted to
are u not allowed to mention a android tv box or something anymore? this is at best shite.
