Word of caution... I installed these about a year ago, things were great until this last Friday night as I was pulling up to my garage, my handlebars came off and I had to lay the bike down. Upon investigation, one bolt was missing and the other stripped out of the riser. It appears the bolts are not long enough and didn't seat further into the riser. No warning, no looseness, just bam! I really like these risers, so I will re-order from Bad Ace Billet online. But I will install longer bolts this time along with some locktight. It could have been far worse if I was on the road or a freeway.
@@mml1224 Hi JM Yes, they will fit a 900 Classic without any cable adjustment. However, make sure the bolts fastening the risers are long enough as well as "Locktite" as a safety precaution. I mentioned this to the manufacturer when I ordered a new set, but it fell on deaf ears and they sent the same bolts. I decided it wasn't worth reinstalling and went back to the stock set up.
@@BrokenandRestored thanks man, how much longer do i need the bolts 1 to 2 cm, make that much difference? i have a bolt plac enear me so i am sure i can find it. how much were they? i am new to risers, wats the main reason for them, hand position or looks? not sure if i really need em'
@@mml1224 Hi JM. When I looked at the bolts after they stripped out, it looked like they only seated less than a 1/4 inch. They should seat at least 1/2 inch or more. I really liked the risers as they just made my ride very comfortable, but at the risk of safety, I can't recommend them.
hey, these look good. it's been a few years, what's your current thinking about these? Also, did you find your cables were binding a little, because of the extra distance?
iliked the video, sohow much were they, and can they fit a classic same year? also, wats the real reason to use risers? looks or better position for your arm? thanks
@@budlyle1016 no, I went with a different style anyway. I got mine from refined cycle. They raise the bar and offset them back some so they're they're higher and closer.
6 years ago and I still wish I could find same ones for my '01 800
