I put a lot of these vision pros in. I absolutely love them. Funny thing is Honeywell told me that I shouldn’t put the Vision Pro thermostats any closer than 6 feet away from each other. I did them anyway and never had an issue. They say the sensor sometimes get confused. I’m not sure if this is an issue that’s been corrected, but I love the way they work. Good job on that Mike.
A friend of mine has to run their heat almost non-stop because he refuses to remove 4 very poorly installed air conditioners from the windows. When I'm over there you can feel the draft coming thru. I've offered to help remove the AC's in the off season to no avail.
Nice setup. My local energy supplier paid for two Emerson Sensi ST 25 thermostats and they are decent. No C wire required if you use batteries and I like that I can control the thermostats via app.
Thermostat placement has a lot to do with comfort. Honeywell also has a portable remote control, with temperature sensor, allowing temperature measurement to occur wherever it is placed. With the remote sensor being placed higher on the wall, than the original controlling t-stat, the room temperature is now possibly cooler, while at the same setpoint, as the warm air rises and satisfies the thermostat set-point quicker, as the air higher in the room is warmer.
Those type had a problem with dust particles landing on the bulb there fore would weigh down the bulb and give a false setting. Learned that from an old timer.
@@scotsmanofnewengland7713Your old timer must of had one hell of a dirty house. Your not even in the same ballpark. Your thinking of the T87 stat. Accustats were mostly use in commercial application and meant to be tamper proof. Google it
You can also install the actual 8000 tstats on each floor and set the max heat set point on the 8000’s (if you wanted tenants to have some control). You can get the internet gateway module and then control the tstats with the Honeywell app remotely so if tenants are away, etc you can turn down/off the heat/AC. There’s also the REM5000R1001, which is a cute little table remote that can toggle between the floors in case the internet goes out since it pairs directly to the tstats. I’ve never had a tenant go into the installer setup menu (you need the 4 digit code) and tamper with the max heat set point.
@@PipeDoctorif you do move the thermostats to each unit, the remote RF sensor can be put outside, and used for “anticipation” by the 8000’s, that makes it work a little quicker when there’s a sudden temperature drop
I have Honeywell Redlink thermostats on my Mitsubishi Air Sourced Heat pump, 4 zones, linked to the Redlink Gateway connected to the internet.. you can adjust them remotely.. another upgrade you could suggest is setup the Redlink gateway for him, then if he’s away, he can check on the status of the 2 floors (or adjust), probably not needed in this situation, just a piece of mind bonus for the landlord, because when the tenants call, he can fire up his smartphone from anywhere, and say “I see your temperature is 72F” 😬
I have ecobee. You can read the current temp from your phone as long as you have wifi. You can also set temp. The owner could do all from his or her phone.
I ran into a guy who owned a 2 family two story house. What he did was when remodeling was run the hot air duct thru the wall to the second floor thru a closet wall. During the winter he would open the closet door open the vent to the ductwork and get free heat from the second floor tenant. Talk about being a cheapskate and wonder if it was illegal ?
I guess we'll see how long it will be before they tamper with the wireless sensors. what do those thermostats do when they lose signal from the sensors? Do those thermostats have wifi or zigbee or z-wave? Is there a phone app or PC software that you can push the config to the stats without going through all those menus?
Mike!!!!!! Great work brother 👍 . I would of definitely ordered the wired sensor the battery likes to play games sometimes . Installed 3 of these wireless sensors went back to that customer home 6 times already gave up and freely purchased the wire one's for the family lol . Gave up on the stupid battery games . But hopefully you don't go through that like I did 🙏🙏🙏🙏 happy New year brother many blessings for the new year
I’m confused, so the tenants in the first floor and second floor can’t control the temperature? Could you have done the Vision Pro 8000 with two interface modules? Enjoyed the video!
Batteries in a tenants thermostat (or sensor) is a problem waiting to happen. Either the tenant breaks the device trying to change batteries or the landlord is on vacation when the batteries go out. Best to wire in a thermostat or use a non-powered one.
Drywall anchors when mounted the sensor? When you have to replace the battery’s every year you are going to rip that thing off the wall. The you had hard wires up to the zones why not eliminate the need to replace batteries? Removing the stat And the confusion as to what is actually controlling the zone.
Pretty cool, but what if they put something cool around the sensor like a bag of ice or blow a fan on it or something to fool the sensor to thinking it’s colder? If they messed around like they did previously breaking into box why wouldn’t they try something else. I like idea but there’s can always be a way around if they wanted to. Keep up the great work buddy, love the vids!
@ yep. I like the other comment about taking off wall n putting in fridge/freezer. Not sure this was solution. Mighta been better if like other comments to hardwire in that way a lot harder to take off
@@themovecrew7201 thy could also just put it on a window sill or the floor against an exterior wall, inside kitchen cabinets that are on exterior walls. by the entrance doors/fire escapes. they're all many degrees cooler or outright cold. 🤣 been in construction for many years so I know where all the cool/colder spots are lurking.
I replaced the pressuretrol now the heater shuts off randomly and I have to hit the reset button on the pressuretrol for it to run again. It won’t ignite unless I hit the reset button on the Honeywell L4079B1033. Any help will be greatly appreciated
you do realize that's a high limit safety cutoff control right? it's not meant to cycle a boiler on/off maintaining pressure and will always need manual reset if it opens. if that's the case, you need a professional and to not be tinkering with a steam boiler, before you possibly harm yourself or someone. not meaning to be harsh sounding, but steam is nothing to play around with.
I see you did Cycle per hour(CPH) at 1 on the first floor, and 3CPH on the 2nd. Guess you didn't read the manual?? 1 is for steam heat, 2 is for hot water heat, and 3 HE forcced air and 5 for old forced air. . I can see you getting a call back on 1CPH!
woah, 1 cycle per hour is far too low, for a drafty old place. it will end up yo-yo swinging and them still complaining, which they likely will anyway, not being able to set it at what they feel comfortable.
There in the hallways? Are there any heat in the hallways since normally the perimeter of the house is on the hydraulic water feed loop unless the hallways are on the edge?😅❤🤔😎
Why leave the thermostats in the apartment? Just going to create more drama…cranking and playing with them while not hitting any crazy set points used above 70. Should have just eliminated the apt thermostats, recycle the existing wire to use direct wire sensors vs batteries and tell the tenants to suck it. Most restrictive laws require 68….LL is providing 70.
I have removed more of that junk, than I have ever installed. over complicated, failures, they tend to randomly reset, lose sensor connectivity(RF noisy environments) which is pretty much every home and device people use now.
why rent when scumbag landlord prevents you from heating comfort Cheap arse landlord needs seperate meters and systems for the renters. if not renters go some where else. with rents like they are we demand control not scummy landlords. Landlords rent out space to make money; they're not a public service to provide you with comfort so that u can walk around in your undies in the winter. this is why renters want out of renting.. but can't buy a house do to the scam house market. Houses DO NOT INCREASE IN VALUE! this is a scam. regardless... the tenants should have full control over their own heat but yes at their cost when possible.. I could soooo easily see a tenant putting this in a fridge or by a window to trick the system into heating. hahahahaha.
Should have brought the thermostat wire sheath all the way under that plate instead you got a butch'ed up sheath before it enters the base of the plate. Looks like you could have drilled a hole and brought it in from behind the plate. And they make better staples than those big ugly ones you use.

Did you set thermostat sensor to control yes? Should be NO. THE REMOTE WILL CONTROL THE TEMPERATURE. Cycles per hour 1 Should be 3 or 5.
that one heat call per hours may not be a good selection. my house dose about 4 per hour but its not insulated well and it below zero most all winter.
You're right, that was just for demonstration purposes.
