- Second World War: what Soviet Union joins the Axis in 1940 and declares war on British Empire? Who would have won?
In November 1940 during WW2 there was a negotiation between Soviet Foreign Minister Molotov, von Ribbentrop and Hitler concerning Soviet Union’s entry into Axis.
On 25 November 1940, Soviets presented a proposal: they would accept the Axis pact but they asked for a world sphere of influence centered on Iraq and Iran and Influence over Bulgaria, Yugoslavia and Finland.
Germany did not respond, leaving the negotiations unresolved and after some months Barbarossa Operation started.
But what if Hitler would have accepted?

In early Barbarossa operation : most of Soviet union military vehices are destroyed by the bomber air strike or easy overcome by the panzer
in battle of mere infantry vs tank , we can easy see the result .
Sovet ground force cant over come the Axis until T-34 make it debut ( the best tank of that time with bigger gun . thicker armor ...compare to panzer III. IV . )

There was a real chance that Germany and Sovjet Union became allies in summer 1940. Because Britain and France had planned to attack the oilfields of Baku from Syria.
The unexpected collapse of France within 6 weeks prevented the realization of that plan.

Soviets can technically join the axis powers and it was possible and the result is that axis alliance will be more powerful and bigger, there was once an instance when joseph stalin tried to ally nazi germany since both of their ideology are strict and originated in the same writing path creation but the nazis will never going to ally the soviets themselves at that time when germany was under nazi goverment because nazi ideology fascism is focused on expanding their ethnic group population, culture, settlements and language in promoting the german identity that they are above all of people in europe and the entire world, germans have a term for this called ostsiedlung meaning east settling, german term for eastern europe colonization and expansion, fascism ideology of nazi government considers slavs and russians are one of slav ethnic groups in europe as lesser and inferior beings along with jews and black people, because of this nazis will never form an alliance with them or reject them if soviets tried to join in their alliance so this scenario of soviets joining the axis powers is technically impossible to happen

I tried this in hoi4 and let me tell you, the world went mad! The minute Germany signed the treaty with the USSR, the USA declared war on Germany (even before joining the Allies) but it did bring up some interesting things. Alternately to this, both were against Japan simply because Japan didn't wish to cooperate and instead chose to form its own sphere so it got conquered instead as both sent 100s of divisions to Asia. Once Japan was dealt with, they then turned their attention to Africa and pushed as far south as South Africa before finally focusing on the UK. THe US tried on many occasions to fight during this time but was largely ineffective at crossing the Atlantic because German+Soviet industrial might was able to pump out more submarines than the US could produce ships and simply had a wall of subs blockading the entirety of the eastern hemisphere from Greenland in the north all the way to Antartica in the south. This forced them to focus on going through the Pacific but by then China had been conquered by Mao and joined the alliance thus securing the eastern front and allowing us to conquer the UK by invading it from the North via Norway, the East via Belgium and the south via France. Throughout the entire thing the Channel was rammed with submarines and had 1000s of planes dedicated to simply sinkingany ships they came across that weren't german or soviet. Landings were successful for the most part, especially once Italy invaded from the West by circling Ireland and with them out of the war the last remaining power was the US which fell rather quickly a few years later thanks to the early deployment of nukes on American cities alongside a full-scale invasion from both the Atlantic and the Pacific. Fun experiment.

This is surprisingly good! I appreciate how you made animations, photoshops, mentioned divisions, and gave maps. Most other alt history videos are very poorly edited and pay little attention to detail, but yours is much better. Just some things I would change
- UK would definitely surrender after the nuke
- If it took the US months to mobilize how did they win in Asia so easily?
- Why didn't the US invade the mainland of Asia?
- Why is Israel a country on the map afterwards? The axis hated jews.
-UK won't surrender but allies definitely could launch the same attack to Paris and Berlin the best decision is to maintain status quo since Axis allredy gained enough land
- despite US late a month for mobilization, Philippines still US territories and US has more ships tonnage than Axis Navy combined. At the end of 1945 US has 28 Carries, 23 Battleships, 72 Cruisers, and 377 Destoyers, not counting submarines and other Escort Carriers compared to axis with 11 Fleet Carries (all total included the sunken ship) that all belongs to japan ( we don't count Graff Zeppelin since Germany gained control of North sea, Germany has no reason to build carries or invasion fleet) in 1943 Hitler ordered all capital ship construction postponed because uboat is more effective to counter merchant but North sea is not allies water anymore. That's where all start to interesting. let just saying German build all the Graff Zeppelin -class that planned, 4 in total
German send them to Pacific through Suez all the voyage are save so far till they reach Malacca where land bomber and Aircraft could intercept the convoy with ease, Graff zeppelin will might be ended up like Prince of Wales and repulse ( still no quarante axis would win against US, Australia and British Pacific fleet)
- even though US could land their troops in Manchuria or Mainland China they will got difficult time to advance more despite the help of b-17 and b-29. Remember Japanese allredy in mainland since 1937 the chance the will build heavily fortified defences will be high they know really well war in Pacific against American will be never in Imperial Japan favour

Those are probably only two generals he knows about. Many of these points are impossible to the absurd. Occupying whole of Afghanistan in few months? It took 10 years for Soviets, and they failed. USA didn't pass better. And I'd severely underestimates power of British troops. Even with Gibraltar down, British navy would still control Medditeran. And there is no way in the world where Luftwaffe could have won Battle of Brittain.

German production in 1940 was far less than British production, that is in warships and merchant ships, aircraft, tanks and heavy guns, the same in 1941 and 1942, in fact the highest german production was in 1944 when it was too late. USA produced less of all of these than Britain util 1942.

For those who think the lack of land lease would be a problem for the Russians. They could have sent all those dead and captures troops in 1941 in our time line to the factories, mine, farms and forests to make up for it.
The US had about half of global GDP but the USSR and Germany had more population alone than the US and the UK and were able to supply pretty much full mobilization to a pretty good degree. Never mind the weaker economic powers like Japan and Italy who could help a bit had provide more manpower mass at the very least.

Japan would have a schism with the Axis over its long-time enemy the USSR joining. Probably no major conflict, but constant Manchurian guerrilla warfare and border skirmishes, and it would definitely go it's own way to keep on conquering.

Literally Hitler, the man who thought it was a good idea to invade the russians while fighting the allies thought that Operation Sealion was a bad idea. Germany primarily focused on the luftwaffe and tanks with infantry, the soviets focused on sending as many men as possible to the fronts, and the Italians just had a shit navy which wouldn't have even been able to reach Japan without being sunk by superior British/French/American ships. And the Japanese navy was good, yes, but they also had a shortage of oil and the US had more oil and a bigger navy. The soviets only needed a navy for leningrad to defend from allies and- oh wait the nazis already had a choke point from Denmark to Norway so it turns out they really wouldn't have needed, especially with turkey covering the Black Sea. Also the entire axis army would probably be starving to death.
The craziest thing is that while this seems completely outlandish, the Soviets actually did try to join the Axis a couple times, if it hadn't been for Hitler, Himmler, and Goebbels' staunch support for Eastern Lebensraum, this could have actually have been a thing

1) The Japanese army was in shambles even before they started their war with China... the political rivalry between the Army and Navy meant that one side would be favored over the other and being an island nation the Navy usually got more resources and love than the Army. Furthermore, the Japanese war with the USA was already using everything the Japanese "could" throw at them, the forces preocupied with China were not very useful in an island hoping and naval campaign.

You got most things right.
Exept one. Naval power. With german technology, soviet resourses and japanese traditions and knowledge, they couldve created the most powerful navy in the world. Also, if the USSR had supported Japan with steel, oil, etc, the USA would have harder time fighting Japan. In our timeline the USA defeated Japan because of two things: technology given by Britain and economic power. With the Germans giving them things such as radar and the aforementioned Russian resourses, Japan wouldve matched USA. Also they would have access to German tanks through the USSR.
Except it takes a long time to build ships, and especially to build dockyards for ships. The Russians didn't have a lot of dockyards so the ship building potential doesn't go up much. Either a peace is signed with the US, or the war goes into the 50s and someone gets carpet bombed with nukes.
Well, with Stalin and Hitler being official allies, I don't see Japan and Germany becoming or remaining allies. Don't forget that Stalin was at war with Japan just a few years prior to WWII; Stalin would actually support Mao against both Japan and the Chinese Republicans, and then China would join the new Socialist League that consists of Russia, Germany, Spain, and Italy; National-Socialists and Communists working together against their common enemies. Imagine German steel and technology combining with Russian oil and wheat and manpower and with Chinese numbers, against the rest of the non-Socialist world.

During the time those countries would have been taking over the European and Asian continents, the United States would have been un-attackable and with its massive industrial might would have been able to overcome any threat they may have posed in trying to actually cross either ocean and take over the U.S. We would have nuked them by 1945 anyway.

All of Asia and indies would’ve been annexed giving them all the rubber and oil any of the couldve ever wanted, the UK would’ve been invaded as soon as Germany realized Winston Churchill was not going to just surrender and then the axis could’ve used the Russian land to invade Alaska pretty easily through the Bering straits with a few supply issues or by traveling through Venezuela which was fascist at the time and would’ve joined the axis since they were winning by far at the point. A lot of things I’ve seen in the video I believe is wrong, first let’s just state the fact that if the soviets entered on the axis side there would be no hope for the allies the British would literally face a full force of the German army and would’ve been forced to surrender do to a submarine blockade and arial bombardments, so the British wouldn’t even be able to fight an African campaign or middle east due to the need for soilders on the home front. Second the US I believe would not get the nuclear bomb first bc it was designed by German scientists and without the germans losing there would be no reason for them to leave?

If the soviets joined and supplied the Germans Britain wouldn’t stand a living chance of survival even with radars and us help it’s just not probable that UK could withstand a full German army that controls all of Europe and a soviet partnership now I won’t say they would fall fast, because Britain has a superior navy but alleys be honest Britain barely survived a 50% German army now compared to a 100% land army ,naval, and air i just doubt Britain or any one nation could compete even with a US intervention.

Britain would have not fallen with U.S. support whatsoever. Who is to also say that the French wouldn't have changed their plans

the war ended with a STALEMATE (=NOT a victory for the axis)... which MEANS that neither side could really gain much territory since the other still were not defeated so you have to make a compromise or the war would continue indefenetly.
